Much like all of the reviews before me say, do not let the unassuming interior and exterior fool you, this spot has some delicious food. It was a hot September day, so we grabbed some chips & salsa, chips & guac, and a diet coke to cool off. They also have Mexican coke in the bottle, which is a nice treat. The guac was so fresh and flavored perfectly, I had to remind myself that I was sharing with another person so that I would not eat it all. Moving onto our entrees, I was really torn because the burgers look SO GOOD but I was really in the mood for tacos. I got an order of the shrimp tacos and my colleague got the burger that comes with chorizo on it. He raved about the burger so if this interests you, I think it is a good choice. His order also came with house made chips, which are always delicious. My tacos were fresh and had a crema on them. I thoroughly enjoyed. This is a great spot to stop in if you're nearby. Love supporting local like this!

10/10 - Wonderful Food, Amazing Service, and a Great Family Experience!…read more What an absolutely wonderful experience at Junction on 70 in Mebane, NC! From the moment we walked in, the staff was friendly, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating! We came in with a party of eight, including five children, and everyone made us feel right at home. We were seated at the perfect-sized table for our family, and our waiter, Jake, was AMAZING! If you visit, I truly hope you have the pleasure of having Jake as your server. He was so kind, attentive, patient, and personable, especially with our children. He took the time to interact with them, talk with them, and patiently let them order their own meals. That kind of service makes such a difference, and we appreciated him so much! The food was delicious, the customer service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was just perfect! Even the music was great! My grandsons enjoyed it so much that they couldn't help but jump out of their chairs and dance right there in the aisle near our table! It was such a fun, relaxed, family-friendly environment. And here's another little bonus--the trains! You can actually watch the trains passing by from the restaurant. They come through fairly often, and rather than being disruptive, they add such a unique charm to the dining experience. The kids were absolutely fascinated! It was like having a little extra entertainment with dinner. And can we talk about how adorable downtown Mebane is?! After dinner, we enjoyed a lovely little walk around town. There's even a park just down the street. It was the perfect ending to an already wonderful evening. If you're ever in Mebane, North Carolina, please do yourself a favor and stop by Junction on 70! Great food, excellent service, wonderful atmosphere, and genuinely kind people. And a special shout-out to Jake! Thank you for making our family dinner such a memorable experience. 10 out of 10, all the way around! We will absolutely be back!

I'm removing two stars for some frustrating and sadly ironic reasons…read more Junction is now under new ownership and it's not going well. The new owner has raised prices, reduced portion sizes, increased wait times for food readiness, and increased wait times for food ordering. Nearly all of the front-of-house staff has been replaced and there is a definite vibe of unrest when I walk in now (the few times that I still go there) Chip portions are bleak, the wraps are about two-thirds their previous size, and everything costs more... a recipe for disaster in my opinion. This was the ONE business in Mebane that needed absolutely nothing... it was turn key for any new owner and a guaranteed hit with the locals. Within a few months, the feedback from me and everyone else I've talked to is that it's now on the decline and we no longer recommend it to visitors, or family visiting. Absolute shame... but I shouldn't be surprised.
