This review is for the night shift. Being from California, we wake up every morning at 3am starving! This McDonalds is - well, different. They have 7 employees working (no drive through here). Just a handful of customers, but a steady stream. (They have a little "coffee shop" near the entrance with espresso drinks, muffins etc. but it doesn't open until 5am I think.) And they are friendly and helpful. Tonight, (er, this morning) the girl who handed me my food at the regular counter obviously didn't speak much English, but she said perfectly "Have a nice meal". Several employees helped us choose our food, as they have some different names for things. Being an urban McDonalds, they have upstairs seating, so we went up there to eat. I realized I needed another bottle of water, and the employee who was cleaning saw me and brought me napkins as she thought that was why I was standing up. I explained that, thank you, but I need to go downstairs to buy more water, and she said "Oh-I get it for you." I dug in my wallet but only had a 20 Euro note, and she said "No problem." I decided to risk it...she came back upstairs 2 minutes later with the water and my change, counting it out to me in her broken English. I tried to tip her but she refused. So sweet! When we left, she said goodbye and shook my hand! I went to the manager to compliment him on his employees (and especially the girl upstairs) and he was obviously taken aback. Then, he shook my hand and said "We see you again tomorrow?" read more
