McDonald's in East Knoxville
Bruce K.

A quick stop for coffee and we decided to go in. This to be able to add our own ice cubes to the legendary hot coffee. The restaurant was clean and quite empty at 9:30 AM on a Sunday. My wife was very impressed with the kiosks near the registers for ordering your food but we opted to go to the register for our large coffee. Easy to order, easy to pay, easy to add ice cubes and hit the road. [Review 12905 overall, 221 of 2020.]

Just left this location. They OWE US 20 dollars. Our bill was 14.70... we handed them 50 dollar bill and 70 cents in change... she handed us back a 10, 5 and a 1. Not only that, I am severely allergic to pork and they put pork on both my sandwiches after we asked three times to ensure the proper order was placed. Ticket number 49 at 6:57 10/16/2022. The manager was unapologetic, DID NOT give us the change back. The manager said that the drawer wasn't wrong but she didn't even attempt to ask the employee about the situation. Do they have cameras on these employees? Refusal to give back change is theft. Cashier KS# 13 and if you need a description of the cashier, I have one.

Grateful every time my dad gets done with his meetings with my uncle makes working at home easier

Filthy drink area

This location was one of the messiest & dirtiest McD's I'd ever been in. I blame management. Floor had trash on it and was dirty. Tables weren't wiped off & smeared. The drink area was disgusting as there was trash all over, trash over flowing out of the receptacle, lids and food in the drain area. Look at the pics. Don't stop here!

This location is terrible. Messed up on my mobile order and did not answer their phone. Hung up on us. Very frustrating. Do not go here.

My buddy opted for the Spicy Smash. The burgers were mmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmm great, Juicy and the bun held up. Fries were fresh and would like to see maybe a topping or poutine option for them. Cool spot to get some AC and great burger before a Smokies game or a night in the old City.

SmashCity wasn't far off of the interstate, it had good ratings and although we'd been eating burgers and fries quite a bit on this roadtrip, a good burger and fries really sounded good. All of the reviews were right on - this was absolutely NOT fast food - it was fast, really fast, but the speed was just bonus. As we usually do, we split. We chose the Carolina BBQ smash. The burgers were juicy - if you're not careful, I guarantee you'll be wearing it. Two critiques, it definitely needed more sauce - I just added some of the SmashCity sauce from our fries and it worked but I really would have liked to have had more BBQ sauce. Second, the fried onions were quite burned. I pulled off most of them. The hand cut fries were piping hot, just the right amount of greasy and seasoned perfectly. Splitting the burger was a good call - I'd never have eaten the whole thing myself. The burger and fries were just over $20. When you consider a Big Mac meal at that clown place is $14, SmashCity is almost a bargain. Paul, the owner was like the energizer bunny - he was everywhere at once. Personality oozed from his pores. Make sure you tell him Sue said hi! (He won't remember me but just say hi anyway!) Now I wouldn't say SmashCity has the best burgers - that award goes to our friend Jerry. He makes a pretty mean smash burger on the blackstone. If you have an extra half hour, skip the fast food burger joints, get off that highway, and go let Paul fill your belly for the rest of your trip! You'll appreciate it!

We had heard of this place for a while and wanted to check it out and we're so glad we did. The food and service were amazing. Walking in it's a narrow restaurant, that has a bar on one side and tables on the other with kinda a rustic feel to it. We were seated immediately and our drink orders were taken. Since we hadn't been there before we got water and then pursued the menu a little for drinks. I had a question between two drinks and the server was very good at describing the drinks and ultimately decided to try the Darryl Strawberry, while my husband got the Nor'easter. The drinks came out and they were really good. They weren't overly strong, you could taste the bourbon in each of them, but it wasn't overpowering. For food we got the OPA! to start and then the Billy for me and the Mother Clucker for him. The OPA was awesome. It's pan seared feta with honey and served with fresh bread. The honey added a little extra sweetness to the feta which went really nicely with the crusty bread. The Billy had goat cheese, bacon, onions and, a tomato jam on it. It was delicious. The creamy goat cheese with the bacon and smokey tomato jam all went amazingly together. I got onion rings as my side, which were crunchy hot and so so good. The Mother Clucker was also really good. I only had a bite of it to try, but was definitely impressed. My husband upgraded to the duck fat fries which were out of this world. Super crunchy, great flavor. Our server kept checking back on us the whole time making sure we were satisfied with our drinks and food, but we had absolutely no complaints. This is a great place for a date if you want good food or to hang out with friends. We will definitely be back.

Our pup travels everywhere with us, so finding these spots is important to us. It was very spacious too - so we weren't on top of other guests. They have an extensive menu and the same with the beer list. There is something for everyone, from hoppy IPAs to fruity sours. Not sure which beer you may like - get a sample. Or try a flight! For lunch, we got the deviled eggs to start - something that is a go-to for us. They were solid and enjoyable. For the main, we opted for the Abridged burger and the Chicken club. Both were solid as well. Fries were crispy, but a bit over-salted, and I enjoy some salt. So made a note for next time to "go light". Service was good too. Overall - really only a tiny detail to 'complain' about, but easily taken care of next time. We will be back for sure - I want to try their pizza!

The ambiance is inviting, cocktail bar as well as beer tap bar, and several areas of tables to enjoy a meal. Worth stopping in!

Since I had the burger the day before I tried another option. So I ordered the Southern Clucker, a fried chicken sandwich with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, bacon, and jalapeños. I wasn't as impressed with the chicken as I was with the other location's burger. The chicken was fairly tough and chewy and the piece was smaller than the bun it was sitting in, so it was literally tough to eat. The bun and vegetables were fresh though. I loved the onion rings. Best seasoning I've had on fries or onion rings in a long time, and the waitress brought some ranch which helped even more! Because the locations seem consistent, I'll also give the Powell location 4 stars. Great sides, good buns, but not without their faults. Looking forward to trying the fried fish in future.

Johnny B Good all the way to Alcoa Tennessee…read more I had read some review on Yelp, - Thank you fellow Yelpers! and had Hot Rod's 50's Diner on my list. We pulled into the parking lot, and I could hear my compadre, RIP, say to me, ' Si está ocupado, va a ser bueno." If its busy, its going to be good. The parking lot was full and the inside of the restaurant was busy. We walked in and our Mom who was a teenager during the 50's loved the decor and signage and my brother immediately gravitated towards the pinball machines. We sat down at a booth. The booths are a little tight if you're tall and have had a couple of cheeseburgers over the years. The good news is that the table is moveable Our server Finch was delightful. By the way, it was her Birthday on the day we were there and even though she was working on her Birthday, she was still having a lot of fun. The regular menu is HUGE. I'm not talking Cheesecake Factory HUGE, I'm talking about triple that...... There's about 50 different burgers and I'm probably missing some. There's burger with a fried bologna slice and american cheese There's a burger with Military Chow The menu is clear to understand but there's an overwhelming amount of choices. I didn't see the vegan menu in the regular menu so I politely asked Finch for the vegan menu, and she skipped back to me with it. Wow - A lot of choices as well. Hot Rod's uses Beyond Meat for some of their burgers but they also custom craft their veggie burgers. The vegan cheese on my burger was most likely Follow Your Heart or Violife, but it was properly melted. The Beyond Burger was a frozen slab without any seasoning but cooked through. I would have preferred some seasoning but hey - I'm not going to knock it. The portion of fries is massive. The vegan ranch is Follow Your Heart and was a nice dipping sauce for the fries. My brother had a buffalo chicken sandwich and my mom had the reuben. We all shared the vegan banana split. Hot Rod 50's Diner as stated by another Yelp reviewer may be the best diner in the United States.

So your first few bites are nothing but bun and lettuce. the bun wasn't even that good, toasted or good bread. To make it worse the fries were sad and soggy. Maybe it's just me but I prefer crispy fries not ones that droop over when you picked them up. I ended up taking the bun off eating the chili and toppings leaving half my meat and I didn't even finish the fries. I love my french fries and for me to leave.
