Whiskey vanilla latte with whole milk
    Jordan A.

This is by far my FAV coffee shop in all of Knoxville. Service is always 10/10, everyone is so helpful and kind. They will let u try any flavor you want and are always great at giving recommendations! I go here monthly! Cute study spot. I highly recommend the whiskey vanilla latte it is good both hot and cold. They also have an assortment of pastries but I have yet to try those!

STOP HERE ***** The coffee was soooo smooth!! I wish I had taken a picture, but we had slammed them because they were SO GOOD!! I had the 16 oz whiskey vanilla. Best coffee I've had in a very long time! Husband had the salted beer, also Very delicious! The staff was so nice. Free parking, clean atmosphere & bathrooms

Latte with mocha and blueberry muffin
    Maureen N.

At the server's suggestion, I ordered the blueberry muffin with a mocha latte. The muffin was amazing! Very buttery and moist, although a little too sweet. The mocha was extremely delicious as well,l although it tasted a little burnt. Overall, it was a good way to spend my morning. I would be back to try other coffee options. I might have to avoid the mocha, though.

We really enjoyed this spot and how light and bright it is inside. Free parking across the street and and easy trek when going into downtown. They brew their own beans and you can even view the bean operation right next to the seating. There is a fun seasonal menu and some very unique house made syrups to liven up a basic coffee creation. The service was friendly, patient, and fast. We started with hot lattes, one with a whiskey caramel and the other straight up. They were amazing. Super creamy, thick foam and cute coffee art. We also ordered a locally-baked goat cheese biscuit and it may have been the fluffiest, most flavorful biscuit I have ever tasted (even better than Scrambled Jake's or Matt Robbs). I will definitely be checking out the baker (Bake That Dough) and see if they sell at any markets or spots closer to my home. Probably better for my carboholic ways if they do not, though. ha! On our way out, we ordered a seasonal Creme de la Creme cold brew (topped with vanilla cream) and an iced mocha. The cold brew didn't agree with hubby's stomach(boo!) and surprisingly needed sweetener. However, I loved my iced mocha. Sometimes, mochas can be too sweet like chocolate milk and you can't taste the coffee. Nope. This one was perfectly balanced. Highly recommend it. With this being a newer biz, I am guessing that they aren't done with finishing touches to make the space inviting. We sat in the corner along the wooden banquettes. There was a large rug with a few very small tables (they remind me of the plastic pieces in pizza boxes that keep cheese from sticking to the lid. ha!) and it just seems like a stark misuse of the large space. Hopefully, they will add some pillows, a couch, etc. over time to seat more people, more comfortably, while keeping their minimalist vibes intact.

Amazing matcha and really great coffee! This place has a very calming and relaxing atmosphere. The staff is very friendly. One of the best coffee shops I've visited in a while.

Just what downtown needed! A coffee shop big enough to bring a crowd! Great place for kids to have their own space and the bourbon latte was to die for plus their pastries. Must try!

This is one of the best coffee shops I've ever been to. The staff is kind and funny and create a dope atmosphere. Their espresso is dialed in so well, their lattes are creatively crafted with homemade syrups (try the Bourbon Spice latte and you'll thank me later). They are also a roaster and I've used their beans for home pour overs for years and they've never let me down. I love this place.

On a scale of documentaries to romances, Five & Hoek Coffee Co is every coffee lover's romance. Minimalist styling, this coffee shop focuses on pouring the perfect latte. I've been in a Vanilla Latte mood for a hot second, but after chatting with the barista, I opted for a Vanilla Whisky (I think) Latte. It swept my tastebuds away in the best possible way, and I returned the following day for the same hit. Free parking is possible on the side street, but I highly recommend just living within walking distance.

    Decaf americano

Stopped by Five and Hoek on a trip and got a delicious decaf americano. We are a coffee addicted family and everyone loved what they ordered. It's a beautiful, clean shop with a friendly owner.

Super clean, modern. Great coffee and staff. Reasonable prices. Might be the best place for coffee in Knoxville.

The place had 2 customers silently sitting and maybe working on their computers but the whole place felt sterile and lifeless. I wasn't greeted and stood at the counter for a few minutes while the lone employee arranged items until I finally asked if I could order. I wanted to sample a variety- so I got an apple fritter, a snickerdoodle donut, a buttermilk old fashioned, and a blueberry Pączki. The apple fritter was the best of those 4. The snickerdoodle was just a traditional cinnamon sugar donut. The base was a bit dry yet also tasted oily. The buttermilk old fashioned had a similar greasy flavor and not the tang I'd expect from this type of donut. The Pączki was just a minimally filled jelly donut...and the dough was very greasy. Normally, the dough is more bready and has a more rich flavor. The ones I've always eaten in the past are heavily filled. This place seems like it has potential but it just lacks the quality or personality I'm looking for in a local gem. Nothing was awful but nothing was great either.

It wasn't as sweet as I expected (like if you order at Starbucks for eg) but the ambiance inside is excellent - they have tables and regular chairs but also couches and big soft chairs. I sat in a big soft chair and was very comfortable! They also have two clean bathrooms, i changed in there after hiking. There weren't enough hanging pegs but they were spacious so still good enough. The staff up front were quick and helpful! No trouble there. And there were a decent number of parking spots out back - that said, by the time I left, the lot was completely full. Not sure where else you could park in the area. Overall, if passing and needing a rest I would rec this spot! But I would try ordering something else besides a London fog ;)
