Breakfast in bed. Was craving Sausage Egg McMuffin early in the morn. Decided to eat, then go back to sleep. Thank goodness for Ubereats
Jessilyn C.

Updating my review. I ordered via DoorDash. Arrived at 10pm. Didn't take long at all. Very surprised how the food was still warm when arrived. The filet a fish was fresh, and fries were just right with a crunch. So I'm giving more stars this time. Not sure what changed. New management? We'll keep it up. Sometime we get a craving for late night meals.

Ordered a large fry and basically got a medium. I used a reward for a free large fry, idk if it's because it was free that my fries were in the size of a medium but doesn't seem right.

Burned crispy chicken sandwich.

I can see why all the negative reviews now. I figured I would try it anyway. How can you screw up making burgers right? Only ordered 3 items, Crispy chicken sandwich, fries and Filet O fish. The fish sandwich is good and in fact looks perfect. The crispy chicken bun is burned and every bite I had was burn taste. The fries is warm and soggy. No one ask if I would like ketchup or anything. Really, how can you screw up something so simple?

2 boxes 8 nuggets?!
David N.

I ordered 20 piece spicy nuggets from this place. They gave me a box of ten then they gave me a double boxed 8 piece. I also asked for 4 sauces and they gave me two for 20 piece. DO NOT GO HERE. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. There is one on SE 256th ST that is better.

Crappy McDonald's

Asked for 4 ranch cups lol they said they charge for ranch at night, haha but not in the day time.??? Wtf Bitch please if you don't charge in the day you sure as fu*k aren't charging me at night!

The workers here do not give a fuck, you're better off going to the Mcdonalds on 256th St, it is not that far from here.

They are booths along the wall and some tables as well. You have a cooler of drinks and fountain drinks, and milkshakes as well. I had the ohayou gozaimasu burger - which comes with a beef katsu patty (ground beef, breaded and fried - you can swap it out for chicken or pork as well or tofu if you prefer), topped with a perfectly fried egg, crispy bacon, melty cheddar, creamy Japanese, mayo, finely shredded crunchy cabbage and zingy Katsu sauce This is a really unique burger. I've been wanting to come here for a while and I'm happy. I finally had a chance. I'm looking forward to coming back and try one of their burgers with chicken Katsu and also pork Katsu in the near future, but I had to go with the original beef patty on the first visit. Service was great. I was greeted quickly and provided with some suggestions after I mentioned it was my first visit here. Their menu is unique so that type of help is appreciated. I made mine a meal and got it with fries and you can choose from four different types of seasoning for your fries or get them plain. I got mine with the furikake seasoning which was nice and added that umami flavor profile perfectly. You also get to choose dipping sauce and I went with more Katsu sauce, but they have five or six others that looked good. I chose a lychee oolong tea in a bottle from the cooler as my meal drink, but you could also get a fountain drink or upgrade to a milkshake if you prefer All in all, this is a really really cool creative twist on classic burger spot. They also serve some bento boxes and Katsu style hotdog at this Kent location here. The bathroom was really clean as was the lobby and the open kitchen. All in all, I'll give them a 10 out of 10 and I will be back

I'm surprised they aren't busier on weekends. But I bet their lunchtime on weekdays is a zoo.

Karla came over right away and helped us with the kindest attitude. When we asked how to add sauces, she said, "They're free, just let me know which ones you want," and brought us two of each to try. It's so refreshing to visit a place that doesn't nickel and dime you. After placing our order, I realized I forgot to get a patty for our dog. Karla came by to check on us, and when I told her, she said she would make sure it came out with our food. It actually came out a few minutes before, which was perfect so our dog could eat first. That level of care really stood out. As for the food, everything was delicious. The loaded fries were savory and rich with a perfectly cooked egg on top. The burgers were juicy and flavorful, and the truffle fries with greens were a nice balance. The orange juice was honestly one of the best I've had. It was fresh, tangy, and had just the right amount of sweetness. The space itself is bright, open, and welcoming. There are games at every table, and it's both dog friendly and family friendly. We'll definitely be back. Karla, thank you for going above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

This classic, no-frills spot carries a nostalgic charm, with a casual, welcoming atmosphere that makes it feel like a staple of the community. It's the kind of place where the focus isn't on trends or presentation, but on delivering satisfying, flavorful food that keeps people coming back. The Hamburger perfectly captures that philosophy. It's simple--nothing overly dressed up or complicated--but that's exactly what makes it shine. The patty is cooked well, with a satisfying sear that brings out the natural flavor of the beef, while the bun and toppings complement rather than overwhelm. Every bite feels balanced, familiar, and genuinely delicious, like a reminder of how good a straightforward burger can be when it's done right. The California Burger steps things up with a more layered flavor profile. The meat is cooked just right--juicy, tender, and full of flavor--and paired with fresh toppings that add both texture and brightness. There's a satisfying richness to it, but it never feels too heavy. Each component works together seamlessly, creating a burger that feels indulgent without losing that classic drive-in appeal. Another standout is the Onion Burger, which might be the most memorable of the bunch. The patty is cooked to a juicy perfection, locking in flavor with every bite. What truly elevates it, though, are the caramelized onions. They're soft, slightly sweet, and deeply savory, blending into the burger in a way that feels effortless. The combination of the rich beef and the perfectly cooked onions creates a harmony that's hard to beat. Not everything hits the same high note, however. The Calamari Rings were a bit of a letdown. There was a slightly off-putting seafood smell that took away from the experience, and the breading felt excessive--so much so that it would fall off easily. On top of that, they leaned a bit too greasy, making them heavier than expected and lacking the crisp, clean bite that good calamari should have. Despite that one misstep, The Family Drive-In excels where it matters most. It delivers consistently great burgers that highlight quality, simplicity, and flavor. For anyone craving a classic drive-in experience with satisfying, well-executed burgers, this spot is an easy recommendation and well worth the visit.

Banana shake was pre-prepared, so not makde fresh, but still delicious (and fast, since pre-prepped). Definitely worth a visit! Keep small non-chain mom & pop joints alive!

But if you want a solid,…read moredown-to-earth breakfast that actually hits the spot, you need to check out The Firestarter Bar in Kent. I've been in a few times and am impressed by the quality of the food. My hats off to the chef! Here's the breakdown of the meal: The Food Chicken Fried Steak: This wasn't one of those cheap frozen patties that's all breading. It was nice and thick with just the right amount of crunch. Sausage Gravy: The gravy can make or break this dish, and they nailed it. It was thick, savory, and had tons of flavor. Stuffed Hash Browns: I upgraded my regular hash browns to the stuffed version with bacon, and it was the best decision of the day. They were perfectly fried and crispy--exactly how hash browns should be. Over Easy Eggs: It's surprisingly hard to find a place that doesn't overcook these lately, but mine came out exactly as ordered. Pancakes: I swapped my toast for pancakes, and they were fluffy and light. They serve them with soft whipped butter and syrup, which makes a huge difference. The Service The real star of the morning was Debbie. She's essentially a one-woman show--running the bar, waiting tables, and serving everyone. She is absolutely awesome and keeps the place moving smoothly. It's rare to see that kind of hustle these days. The Verdict Don't let the "bar" label or the exterior scare you off. So for what feels like a decade, I have passed this place coming out of the local AMC, as there is no other attraction in Kent I would stop for. Based on reviews, I decided to give the place a try, but again, I think this place has been here since at least 2015 and with under 40 reviews, it's clear they are not changing lives. In reading reviews. More than one person said the prices were high for a truck, but I did not expect burgers approaching $20. The burgers were grossly overpriced. Someone said they had twice the meet of most places, I doubt that, I'd be shocked if it was more than ¼ patty, the burgers were big, but also incredibly thin. I would have much rather had a burger twice as thick on half as much bun. I actually ended up tossing the lower bun and folding the burger back on itself. That was issue 1. Issue 2 was after a decent wait for free food, my fries were under-cooked, and I didn't get any fry sauce. There were bottles on the tables, but it was 50 degrees, so we weren't eating outside. I assumed there was a small cup in he container, but only ketchup. I had the guacamole burger and instead of thick, chunky, rich guacamole, I guess a tangy avocado sauce. It also had a strip, maybe two of bacon that was so thin, it added no flavor. I've had much better for a lot less and despite the women being as pleasant that can be, this was not worth the money and proved to be a massive waste of time as well, because we certainly passed at least 6 places that make a better burger for less. I can't recommend and won't be back. The food could have been 30% less and I still would have been let down. Unless this was a bad day, this was the worth burger meal I've had in my life. 100% overrated.
