I usually do not review on chain restaurants but when i do there are for good reasons or when its beyond bad. This is also another one of those times I will be a devils advocate among my fellow yelpers and elites alike. Seeing most bad reviews here it seems to be due to long wait times and broken kiosk: But come on people, what does that have to do with the employees, the food or the restaurant? To a point yes but prime season when a bus and herd of tourists pulls up to the few employees thats available here in the middle of nowhere, what do you expect?? I came during off season, beautiful weather, definitely less people, no issues with kiosk or better yet some need to learn how to use mobile app to order their food like i did and got my food quick without issues. Compared to many McDonalds I have visited in many cities and states, this was actually one of my better experiences especially being in the middle of nowhere. Place was clean! Employees were super attentive to look around to clean and mop immediately as people left the tables. In Los Angeles, some employees can care less. The kids play area was also well kept and clean. They also have a family restroom in middle of restaurant close to kids play area. First time I ever seen that so thats a definite plus! My iced coffee was also made perfectly. So to the native employees here who truly take pride into their work, keep it up. My family acknowledge it and thanks you for keeping it clean for my child to have a safe place to play. Oh forgot to mention, they also have arcade games at each corner seats at the tables also! read more

After my last two fast food experiences this place deserves a Michelin star. The dining room was spotless, the staff was friendly, our order was accurate, and the food was exactly how it tastes at every other well operated Micky D's in the country. This McDonald's was busy. When you're in this part of the country, you are hard pressed to find a restaurant. Fast food is the name of the game. Besides being on the road, I really wanted a hot meal. We went for a double cheeseburger and filet of fish. All the kiosk were inoperable and a line was slowly growing. Ordering was fast as was service. You must ask for water cups, napkins and utensils. Nothing is left for the customer to grab. You do help yourself to a beverage at the dispenser. Not gourmet but fills the hole in the belly. This McD's has a children's inside playground. What a strange place. So unorganized. Kiosks are totally confusing. There may be only one person in front of you but they can't figure it out either so you wait 10 minutes. Gave up and decided to go through the drive thru. They leave you sitting there for at least 5-7 minutes before they take your order. Then they're out of fries so you wait again. Limited food options leaving Monument Valley for a long drive- we opted for drive thru at McD's. We ordered 2 double cheeseburgers, nuggets, fry and drink. I asked for honey for the nuggets- which they forgot. Turns out that didn't matter, one bite of a nugget had me passing the box to John. Cardboard. They tasted like cardboard. Big area of this restaurant. They have play place too. Many seating and it was quite well clean too. Restrooms are not as per a big restaurant like this. You can easily expect a queue. They are small and without mirrors. Not sure what is the idea behind not putting mirror. read more

Stopped here for breakfast before heading out to 4 Corners. A very bright, clean and large McD with play area for kiddies. Staff is helpful about checking to see if you need help with the ordering kiosk. I'd rather they be in the kitchen to hurry your order. Bathrooms are clean as a matter of fact, she was in there cleaning and you can smell the bleach. Staff as came around as you were dining to see if everything was OK. She apologized for the one homeless appearing guy who was loud as bothered another patron. He eventually left. Disclaimer: I visited this location during the pre-pandemic period. Two stars, since you can't really expect much from a fast-food chain, but even then the experience was a bit underwhelming. There were quite a few items that were out of stock, and as a result, a sign was put up saying they were "in popular demand". It's understandable, given the location. It was around early morning, so there were few customers around. Despite this, it took a longer than expected duration (~8 minutes) to receive our breakfast order. In addition, our coffees came in black instead of regular. ...I mean, your choices are limited in Kayenta, so you can't be too picky with where you eat. read more

Surprisingly this was a pretty clean McDonald's for a fast food restaurant. The establishment looks fairly new. Kids play area and a couple touch monitors were available for kids. High top tables and high chairs, booths and tables throughout. Only 30 minutes is allowed for eating. Never seen that before. Egg white, white cheese, ham biscuit. No other way to say it. This is a poorly run store. I have stopped here twice in 4 days as I was driving by. March 29th I came in and ordered 2 large coffees and was told that they were out of large cups. So I said "Fine, give me 4 small cups for the same price." I was told I would have to pay for the extra cups and my response was "Why? It is not my issue that you are out of cups." Eventually they relented and gave me the 4 cups but why make we argue their failure? Today at 0930 I stopped in for breakfast and the attached sign was up saying that they were out of 3 products "Due to Popular Demand." Not too many choices for an early breakfast before the Sun gets up. This McDonalds is open 24 hours Thursday through Saturday. No senior coffee but that is only one dollar. They have the usual specials. Ordered two sausage McMuffins for 4 bucks. Will keep one for lunch. Service was great, place is clean and modern. Booths have padded benches. This is a happy place. As we were driving through what seemed like miles and miles of nothingness the town of Kayenta appeared. Since it was lunch time this place was a welcome sight. Cleanliness This seemed to be a relatively new building. It was clean and nice. Employees I must have lucked out with the group that served us. After reading other reviews it appears there is some inconsistency here, but the folks we encountered were friendly and professional. Food Sometimes you just need a Big Mac OK? McDonald's as a whole is proud of it's free Wifi, but at this restaurant it shouldn't be. When I initially ordered and sat down, towards the back and near the play area, the wifi was extremely slow with poor signal. I decided to move towards the front, and the signal improved. However, there are no plug ins to charge devices and several signs around telling you that you should only stay for 30 minutes. Even if I wanted to hog their wifi, the crappy signal strength would prevent that. There was one woman working in the dining area who took her cleaning job seriously. Unfortunately, if you're traveling fromUtah to the Grand Canyon on a Sunday morning, and looking for a little breakfast to tide you over; Kayenta gives you a choice of this place or another fast food place. We chose McDonald's and it is definitely set up to trap "tourists". The prices are much higher here and the food is actually smaller in size than usual; so getting your money's worth is not their policy. Service was very slow; and while clean inside, the exterior had a pest problem. When entering or exiting the building, or just standing by your vehicle, don't be surprised to be approached by males, obviously intoxicated, panhandling. We were approached and we watched as it happened to many others. We were there almost an hour and no employee from McDonald's asked these men to leave the premises. Not a safe environment. read more

Pricey but super clean and has a nice clean play place. Refreshing to find a clean McDonald's on our trip that our son could burn off some energy in the play place. Would definitely recommend. After a long tour we had a second dinner at this location. The service in the drive-thru was really slow, but the food was really good. I generally don't eat McDonald's, but the food they serve reminded me of how I felt about McDonald's when I was a kid. Wow, I'm really surprised by some of the bad ratings. I normally avoid going to McDonalds, pretty much because when I think of McDonalds, I think of how they used to be 20 years ago. However, I just finished a 4000 mile road-trip with my mother and we made a point of going to a McDonalds every few days because I have recently become completely addicted to their egg McMuffins (sub bacon for ham!) that I can now buy at any hour. I wanted to leave a review for this McDonalds in particular because my experience was just so unexpected and really quite fantastic! This was by far the cleanest, friendliest McDonalds I've ever been to--hands down, the best. I worked in a fast-food restaurant when I was 16 years old and I know what a miserable experience it can be. But the folks running the counter here were so friendly as well as extremely patient. They actually seemed to take pride in doing their jobs well and I really can't say enough about how much that contributed to our experience there. And last but not least: the food was fantastic! They put so much bacon on the Egg McMuffin, it was nice and crispy, and, for once, each component was exactly where it belonged--it wasn't a great big lump of egg on one side of the sandwich with a little lump of slimy bacon on the other--it actually looked like they took the time to do it right. There's plenty of other fast-food options in Kayenta but I whole-heartedly recommend trying out this McDonalds. I only wish my local McDonalds was half as nice. read more

Like another patron, I rarely ever would think to review a McDonalds. This place deserves a special non-place among McDonalds. We waited over ten minutes to have someone take out order. While waiting for my food, I observed an employee order her food and then go get it. I get that employees get the privilage of not having to wait. After giving the food to her boyfriend, she walks to the back and grabs four mor burgers (emptying the tray of burgers) and walks back out to the boyfriend - giving them to him. Besides the possible theft, my concern was waiting even longer for my burger. Approximatel fifteen - twenty minutes after placing my order I finally was served.....ALMOST! Low and behold no double cheeseburger...I wait another five minutes while watching double cheeseburgers being placed in others bags. Not cool. There is a major need for improvement in it's cleanliness. I had stopped a couple of hours earlier in Cortez, CO at their MD's....quite a different experience there. Extremely efficient, clean and friendly. I had my iced coffee in less than two minutes - with an apology for my needing to wait. Corporate should take note and send their manager here for a few weeks. Now with hustle of the summer traffic I was impressed with the service. They had three registers open and they were trying to get orders out as quick as possible. June 8th on our way to Durango Colorado we asked for 2 Mcdouble Burger very simple just pickles and ketchup only, well they added onions and no pickles went back and they still got it wrong on third try and had bacon that was actually someone else's order.
