Stopped in by recommendation from a Navajo reservation tribal member I met on the road. Looking for more traditional eats. Was not disappointed on this suggestion. I was definitely the only non-Navajo there which is a good thing. I wanted to see real and eat legit. I was greeted warmly and several Navajo men in cowboy gates nodded a pleasant hello as I walked by. It's simple, clean, super friendly, and basic fiercest. However I forgot gorge on a Navajo taco which was bomb! They also serve a few other traditional Navajo dishes. The potato salad was really good as well. It's a super cool slice of reservation life dining of a beautiful friendly people! After all they've been stepped on they're still beautiful to others. You gotta this place on the reservation in Kayenta AZ.

Menu May 2025 - The menu from Blue Coffee Pot Restaurant displays a variety of food options including sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, and children’s meals, along with beverage choices such as coffee, tea, and fountain drinks. Prices are listed next to each item, and the menu includes a note thanking customers for choosing the restaurant. The menu is printed on light-colored paper with black text and is placed on a wooden surface.

First time here for weekday dinner, I was previously here for breakfast many years ago. Place was packed with locals and some tourists. Lots of menu choices including more Navajo & Mexican food. Hogan style ambience. Spotted a Ribeye Steak Dinner served with salad, baked potato, peas and carrots and dinner roll. All prices were very reasonable I have noticed a big difference in steaks cooked on an open fire and just grilled on a flattop. Think this was the latter. All pretty much your standard food fare. Steak was rare and a bit chewy. Overall a very good dining experience. Think I may go for of the traditional Navajo cuisine on next trip.

Navajo Diced Mutton ( Lamb) rolled in a tortilla with baked potato and veggies. - A plate features a Navajo taco wrapped in a tortilla, filled with meat, accompanied by a side of green chili, and a small salad with sliced tomato, onion, and lettuce. The plate is on a dark wooden table with a white paper placemat, and the background shows a coffee cup, creamer, and condiments, indicating a restaurant setting.

I had the Navajo Diced Mutton ( tasty Lamb) in tortilla roll and baked potato. It was delicious. I first visited Kayenta in 1984 . I remembered eating Navajo Lamb stew in a small restaurant in a trailer. I was told that that's where the restaurant first started. Interesting story! The restaurant was clean and the staff very friendly. This is a local gem hidden between the well known Fast Food places. You have to try it.

While on vacation at Monument Valley I have been in search of Indian fry bread. The Blue Coffee Pot was my last chance for awesome Indian fry bread as we were on our way to Las Vegas. From the outside it appears The Blue Coffee Pot is in need of a fresh paint job. Inside it was nice. We visited during the lunch rush and service was slow. I ordered the steak and shrimp skewers with Indian fry bread. The fry bread was warm and with fresh fried aroma. Layers of light and soft fried dough melted in my mouth. Loved the light flavor. Best Indian fry bread I had on our Monument Valley trip. Now to the skewer. Fried shrimp had a nice snap and flavor. Steak I asked to be cooked medium and was more medium well to well done so parts were tender and some were a bit dry. I enjoyed the flavor of the marinated beef. Loved the flavor of the carrots and yellow squash. Very good tasting dish. Chicken noodle soup was mostly noodles. I didn't care for the noodles which had a starchy flavor and were close to disintegrating. Broth was very mild with just a salty flavor. I would not order this dish again. I wanna visit again for the delicious Indian fry bread.

Blue coffee pot is a delicious option! Theboutaide isn't much but inside is nice! Gives a diner vibes and good wood work and art. The service was outstanding. Friendly staff and very attentive. I ordered the chicken fried steak dinner. Baked potato, peas, dinner roll, and a salad. The chicken fried streak and brown gravy was a 9.6/10. Perfectly fried. Crispy yet extremely tender. No knife needed! Thebgravy was rich flavorful and perfect. The potato was also a 9.8/10. Perfectly cooked. I asked for a side of chili beans. I put butter cheese and the chili on the potato and didn't keave a scrap behind. The chili is absolutely delicious and homemade. Thinks of meat and a great chili flavor. The peas were basic and not seasoned 5/10. The roll was soft warm and delicious 8.2/10. Salad was a bit basic as well as the ranch. Would have loved some tomatoes or cucumber for some fresh pop. 7.9/10. All around highly recommended. I heard the breakfast menu is even better!

Great breakfast burrito and my coffee was filled and hot the entire time I was seated. The toast was slightly stale really the only complaint everything else was great.

Navajo Cheeseburger - A cheeseburger featuring a fried onion bun, a slice of cheddar cheese, and a beef patty is presented on a white plate. The burger is accompanied by a serving of French fries. The setting appears to be a casual dining environment with a wooden table and a person in a black and white striped shirt visible in the background.

Stopped in on the way to Monument Valley. We all enjoyed our lunch here where most of the restaurant was full of locals. I had the Navajo Mutton which was excellent and two others had Navajo Cheeseburgers and my daughter had a chef salad which was huge. The boys loved the Navajo fry-bread. The eaters were huge and the coffee was excellent The place was packed but we got seated quickly and the food came out pretty quickly as well. I definitely recommend stopping in.

holy crap this place is good. filled with locals, great service, decent prices and amazing food. go for the fry bread and mutton, you can't go wrong. love it love it love it

Diced mutton in fry bread - The image shows diced mutton placed inside a piece of fry bread, with a side of shredded lettuce and potato salad. The fry bread is thick and soft, forming a pocket for the meat. The lettuce is green and leafy, and the potato salad appears creamy with chunks of potato. The setting suggests a casual dining environment, likely at a restaurant specializing in local or traditional cuisine.

After a rather disappointing dinner at The View where the old Navajo menu has been replaced by what appears to be Denny's, we were referred down to the Blue Coffee Pot for the best local Navajo cuisine in the area and we were not disappointed! While mutton stew only appears on the menu once per week, the delicious soup and diced mutton with fry bread made up for missing out on the stew. Every dish was a winner, although with a few items sold out when we arrived, we had to improvise a little with our own "secret menu" by doing our Navajo taco with refried beans (delicious!) and made our own dessert out of fry bread with honey, powdered sugar and vanilla ice cream. Not so "Navajo" but equally delicious was the fried liver steak with onions and gravy. Service was really amazing considering our one server was handling the entire restaurant for most of our visit.

So we came to visit family and they said let's go eat, the recommendation was the blue coffee pot. Local place. Staff was not overly friendly and we did wait a bit for service, but I expect that out here on the reservation. Place was not overly clean but it was decent. Restroom was kept up with is a great plus. French dip was okay. It needed to be shaved thinner as it was just a roast with joe real taste. Side of fries were okay. Salad is great, you get all the dressing you want and it was kept fresh. Navajo burger was okay. Needed something that I just don't know of. Again, if you are here in town check it out. Can't say it is one of the best places but it is good

We arrived and there was no one waiting outside, but the place was full. You need to wait outside or you can write down your number and they'll give you a call. We waited about 30 minutes to be called inside. It was so nice and cozy inside. The little fire place was running. It was perfect. I had the three sisters burrito. It's basically a veggie burrito smothered in their mole salsa. It was delish. My daughter had the pork taquitos and my husband combination plate. We started with the chips and salsa. The salsa was pretty spicy. I thought the chip serving was rather small compared to our local neighbors. Everything wet had was delish. We were all pleased with our meal after being on the road so long. We ended with the apple pie nachos. Super good. I strongly recommend. It was so good we came back for breakfast. I started off with the Red Chuli Chai latte. So good and spicy. I had the huevos rancheros. They were pretty good and they were served with a giant flour tortilla. My husband the the omelette. He was so satisfied. My daughter had the blue corn waffle. She was happy camper too. Next time you are on your way to Monument Valley or just passing through Kayenta you must stop here. The food is really good.

We had been hiking all day and driving here for the night. The town is on the reservation and this area didn't have much besides a couple fast food spots. We really didn't want fast food, so we saw only one restaurant in town open until 9 and were headed there. We were worried we wouldn't be able to check into our hotel so late though and we were going to pass it on the way to this other restaurant we found online. When we went inside to check in, we saw they had a restaurant and it looked good! I asked if we could eat there or if they were closed and he said yes if we went right away since they'd be closing in about 45 min. We just decided to stay there and eat and it was really nice! The hotel was really a Motel but surprisingly pretty nice, with this nice restaurant too! We were just glad to not have to eat fast food. They had a real menu, with reasonable prices and very large portions! We really could've shared a meal. I was only disappointed that they were out of their bread and fajitas which were their specialties. But, I got the quesadilla and it was one of the best veggie quesadillas I have ever had! Only thing to note, is that gratuity was automatically included. (We were a table of 4) so we didn't realize it and ended up tipping on top of that way extra! The service was normal but nothing crazy, so we were a little upset we basically paid for an entire extra meal without realizing it but that's our bad. We paid in cash because they were only accepting cash at that time and so I didn't really put together the "added gratuity" until we were splitting the bill after amongst ourselves, because I didn't write in a tip and sign since it was cash and not card. I just looked at the total. Sooo just be aware that your tip will already be added to your bill :) Definitely loved the food and loved that there was a no fast food option in the area and would recommend stopping here and even staying at the motel!

Been jonesing hard since missing out on a taco truck at Four Corners back in 2015. Living on the east coast, I don't have a lot of Navajo Taco options. My husband and son? Had never had a Navajo Taco. This was the best introduction for them! The service here was terrific. The young man who seated and served us was great! Personable, funny, cool tats, really made the meal shine. The tacos were spectacular, perfect, with the fry bread done just right. The sweet potato fries were also spot-on, as was the coffee. The decor was rustic, fun, with old tools, a collection of beer cans and bottles, and comfy seating. I do have one regret, though. The cook came out to chat, and he told us about his band playing at a local venue, invited us to come hang. Sadly, we were on our way out of town. Can't remember the name of his band so I can share with friends who live in that area and would love to go see them play. I can almost remember it--Thunder in the Valley? Thunder on the Mountain? There were posters around the area, wish I'd taken a pic. Anyway, the restaurant is right next to the inn, which was clean, spacious, and didn't have a lick of internet. Which was kind of cool, actually. The river is right there, and, overall, this was a really terrific meal and I wish I could let the folks who made it that way know.
