It's McDonald's. So right there, my expectations are pretty low. I never have high hopes. I also usually go through the drive-thru, as it's faster and I'm on my way to Monroe. So a bite as I'm driving saves me time. I've never been thoroughly impressed with a single McDonald's and this is no exception. I always order chicken nuggets and a soda when I go here. I try not to order fries, as they are never hot. I have yet to order and receive a hot/fresh order of fries from this location. I also pick nuggets because they can't screw it up, and it's easy to eat in the car. The worst they can do is leave out the sauce. The customer service is lackluster in here. It's usually a female at the window, and that's fine. But there's always the attitude to go with it. You're working at McDonald's. Try being a bitch when you're working at a more upscale restaurant! But, that's just my opinion. My favorite thing is when I pay in cash, which I rarely do anymore, because when I do, they always ask me if I actually want my change. I've had them do this when it's not just a penny, it's a dime, quarter, even a dollar. Yes, I'm not tipping you, or overpaying for my shitty food. Give me my damn money. Which they act like they should be compensated for standing at a window and handing out a bag. Nope. Not from me, anyway. Will I return? Someday, I'm sure. My kid wanted McDonalds and I am tired so off we go. I order and part of my order was 2 McFlurries. I get up to pay and they told me that the ice cream machine has just broken but they can substitute a milkshake for me. I get a little ways down the street and I'm pulling the food out and the french fries are cold. my kids egg McMuffin looks like they threw it from one side of the kitchen to the other side of the kitchen aiming loosely at the bun. My burger actually looks fine. But the kicker of it all is that they charged me for small milkshakes which is a dollar more than the McFlurry. So their machine breaks, they offer to "substitute" a milkshake, and then they give me a milkshake in a McFlurry cup and charge me the dollar extra for a small milkshake without actually telling me that they're going to charge the extra price. not cool. I usually like coming to this McDonald's. The morning crew is top notch and on the ball. HOWEVER, the night shift sucks. They were already slow and moody but now there is a lady "manager" who is absolutely horrible. I deliver for Doordash and had an order that was not ready and waited 25 minutes for it. The worst part is there were two other customers waiting after me. Then a lady Dasher came in 10 minutes after I did and this manager who had not even acknowledged my existence asked her what her order # was. She then proceeded to put THAT order together ahead of the three people already in the lobby. What a joke. You don't expect good food when you go to McDonald's and that's okay because this place does not try to buck that trend. What you do expect is to have your "food" made right and on time. I've been here many times before I wised up and had enough mostly because it is a block away from my home and was open late when I was returning from work. Almost every time they messed the food up somehow. Say you want something basic like a mc chicken with cheese and pickles. They're gonna screw that up 50% of the time. Want ketchup in the bag? You better check because they keep it locked in a vault on the top of the Junction City water tower and probably won't put it in there. When you bust them by checking the bag it's "oh wow I forgot" fella, I asked you twice, to your face. Sometimes you get what the car behind you ordered, or maybe what someone ordered a week before. I know chains like this are constantly cycling employees and training is always an issue but people go to chains like McDonald's for one thing: consistency. I'm tired of "mystery food" and having my extra ketchup being treated like I'm trying to buy uranium from them. I went to the McDonald's in junction city Oregon today for dinner. I was charged $67 for a $37 order. The girl never gave me my total until after I paid and when I asked about it she shut the window and did not return. Thankfully we already had the food. My ride could not wait so when I got home 5 minutes later I called the store and asked for a manager stating the issue. The line then hung up. Every time we stop there through drive up. which isn't often, we are greeted by someone who right away puts you off. They greet you with an attitude that you are really bothering them. Sometimes the people at the window are nicer, but not today. The food was cold and even the coffee was luke warm. I keep thinking I'll complain to the manager but wanted to give the benefit of the doubt. Today was the last straw. I stopped in Corvallis, OR to pick up a 59 year old washing machine and needed something to eat before getting back on the highway again. I saw this McDonald's and decided to stop. Once inside the girl at the counter was very pleasant. I ordered the old standard breakfast item at Mickey D's, the ubiquitous Egg McMuffin. Every single time they will mess my order up. To be clear I speak more or less acceptable and unbroken English in a cadence, tone, and volume that I would assume to be more or less average. I'm a regular English-speaking dude. This place is just down the street from me and even though I know I'll get burned I still stop by now and then. Grudgingly. Today was great. A real showcase into how awesome management trains their folks. I ordered a number two with a substitute folded egg (they almost always get that part correct actually) and an iced frappe because I'm a diva. The total came up on the screen for $7.xx No worries. I get to the window and they charge me $5.xx and (because I know better when dealing with these folks) I checked the bag and saw no hash brown (they do this part a lot). *approximate dialogue, don't quote me and I had my dash cam turned off* "Hey where is the hash brown?" "You didn't order one" "Yes I did, I asked for a number 2 which has a hash brown" "Yes but you did not ASK for the hash brown" -at this point I realize I'm talking to a legitimate moron, I didn't ask for a bag or napkins or a straw or cheese on my McMuffin or the muffin to be wrapped or a MILLION other things but they all arrived- This is the standard which this McDonald's operates at. As long as you accept that you are getting the very least amount of effort, attention, or help then you'll do just fine. Accept that and also accept that nothing will ever change. They have a great location and getting out of the DQ (who have never burned me, are always positive and cool, and I love) drive thru up the street is murder. This McDonald's is a perfect example of a mega-corp not giving even a token effort towards training or efficiency which is amazing because that's one of the things most McDonald's are known for. If I could give negative stars, I would. I have now been to this particular McDonald's three times in a row and had horrific customer service and either been double charged for items, overcharged for items, or my order has not been incorrect. When I have called or asked to speak with a manager, they either tell me one is not available to speak with me or they tell me that the manager can do nothing for me. I was not refunded any money for the overcharge nor for the double charge. By the time I realized that my two incorrect orders were actually incorrect, I was already 15 miles down the road. So a brief background. I stop at me McDonalds at Gateway 5 days a week to get coffee and an occasional breakfast sandwich. . I pay with a gift card that I reload as needed to $50. Then a couple of times a week I go thru the Junction City McDonalds drive thru for a sandwich. Several times I have reloaded my gift card with $50. Today, ordered my sandwich, got to cashier window and let them know I wanted to reload my gift card and pay for my lunch. I give the cashiers my cards. Next I hear this load,obnoxious , rude voice "Do you have ID to match this card? " many , many times I have been thru and never been asked before.so, I pass over my ID, but say I have never been asked before for ID. "Well, I am Josh the General Manager and all transactions on a CC over $50 take an ID. Gruffly said I asked for my cards back, canceled the transaction and shared with Josh that I thought he was a Dick. Way to show the team great customer service!! These people could not be bigger idiots. They're extremely rude, and can't read what you order apparently. They handed me a drink COVERED in sprite, too dumb and lazy to wipe it off I guess. They forgot to put tomatoes on my food that I paid for, and then made me show them there wasn't $0.60 worth of tomatoes. Horrible customer service. They repeat your order at both windows, meaning they repeat your order TWICE. And you still get my order wrong. Not only that but you don't hand my receipt at the window. Over the past several years I have been getting over charged on many items, t he menu says one thing and I'm being charge a higher price. The other day manager was rude because we were charged .45 over what the menus stated. Almost Every time I go there and order the same meal it goes up .10 to .25 higher than the board reads. I do not expect much from McDonald's but still they let me down over and over. They can never get an order correct. I use the drive through on the silly occasions that I try to give them another chance as I have disabilities. Gave it another shot just a few days back and was disappointed once again. Had to bring the bag inside (that had nothing I ordered in it) and my order had not even been up to pull yet, as I stood there another five minutes waiting for the food to be done.
