I was in town for the Hartford Marathon. When I run a marathon out of state, I usually can expect the same quality food from any McDonald's. Now, service on the other hand will vary based on the location. This was definitely one of the few McDonald's that I've visited that wasn't very good. Also it just didn't look like it was located in a nice part of town, so I decided it was best to hightail it out of there as soon as my food was ready. I got there, waited forty two minutes to be told to use the kiosk.Then, proceeded to use the kiosk.Went to the register to pay in cash. Only to wait another twenty three minutes for the food to come out. I didn't about twenty minutes later.I started feeling nauseous and I had regurgitation and diarrhea. Last time I went here for a burger I made the mistake of getting out of my car (2007 ford escape) instead of using the drive through. There was only one person working inside, and they were openly acting impatient and rude to the customers in front of me in line. This location has been a problem since the pandemic started. I, of course, understand that there were disruptions. However, this location doesn't seem to be recovering. From the start, the dining room has been closed even after the state allowed for it to be reopened. As of 5/19/21, the state has removed all restrictions with the exception of masks. On my most recent visit, the doors were locked and only one drive-up lane was open. As a walkup customer, I could not get service. All things considered, there was no excuse for this situation. I contacted McDonald's corporate. I received a stock answer that did not answer the situation. read more

forgot my daughters apple juice in her happy meal. very said and she is now crying. this is unacceptable, i order a drink and it does not come with the happy meal. we can't calm her down due to this very inconvenient act and now we have to purchase another one, which is a waist of money considering it should have came with the meal. we use this mcdonald's all the time, however it has began to go down hill and i keep getting reoccurring mishaps. this one caused me to spend extra money on an apple juice that was not given, which should not be a big deal, but it is when you have a 5 year old daughter uncontrollably crying because of this inconvenience. thank you for this time. read more

Since the new schedule due to COVID-19 I have to be to work at a certain if I want to stop at McDonald I specifically stop at the one on Washington St in hartford,Ct every time I pull up to the drive through to get breakfast or something the person on the speaker always says "Hold on one minute" or "Give me one second" i find this one be very irritating because 1. Your supposed to be open at 6am but your not open at 6am and im here at 6 AM. And 2. I HAVE TO SOMEWHERE TO BE. this has happened multiple times since the schedule change. This is the McDonald's closest to my apartment right now, but I always make a point NOT to go there because of how bad my experiences there have been in the past. First things first, it's not in the greatest area. There are a bunch of panhandlers waiting around near the drive thru, and McDonald's has no control over them whatsoever. But that's not even the worst part about it. The staff is completely underwhelming, even for a McDonald's. As a former employee of the Clinton McDonald's, I know a thing or two about how things should be run, and this is absolutely not it. There is a problem every time I go there, whether it's the fact that no one will answer the speaker in the drive thru or they get my order completely wrong. The employees are rude and dismissive, and they take forever to get the food out. And half the time, the food is cold or not what you ordered. The WORST McDonalds I have been to!! The workers who take your order are rude. People are constantly standing near or IN THE drive thru LANE begging for change. Fries are ALWAYS cold and stale, and dont ask for anything special on your order cuz you will get charged extra for it but it will probably not be on your sandwich! I'd give MINUS 5 stars if I could. Possibly the worst Mcdonalds on the planet GHETTO - If you don't like getting asked for change while waiting in line AVOID THIS PLACE The people working there are also some of the rudest and slowest around, Nuggets and fries were under cooked every time I've gone. On a side note, I once saw a new worker? Standing around with a mop while the manager walked by and said "Better start mopping" - The new worked screamed at the top of his lungs "I AINT NO PUNK B****, I AINT GOIN OUT LIKE THAT" and immediately threw down the mop, tossed his hat to the ground and walked out. I've never reviewed a chain restaurant before, but this McDonald's franchise is so heinous that I am making my first ever exception to the rule. I work two blocks from this fiasco, in a neighborhood where the options for iced coffee are a Starbucks that's just out of walking range, a Dunkin' Donuts that's walkable but unfortunately serves Dunkin' Donuts coffee, and the horror show that is the subject of this review. To their credit, Mr. Newman and Mr. McDonald contracted to serve the former's completely serviceable coffee in the latter's "restaurants," and so it came to be that the McDonald's on Washington Street is, in that one respect only, the best option for take-out coffee near my workplace. The problem is two-fold: 1) At McDonald's, your options are "iced coffee with eighty-two tablespoons of cream and four hundred forty-six grams of sugar" or "no iced coffee." While most dining establishments that serve coffee long ago adapted to the concept that the customer may want to customize the type and quantity of dairy and sweetener added to her beverage, at this gem of an institution, no such option exists. Oh, you can try. You can make eye contact with the cashier, speak slowly and emphatically, and even repeat yourself. "One cream. One sugar." You can write it down, wear it on a t-shirt, say it in Pig Latin. But it won't matter. You're on the dark side of the moon, Tom Hanks. Houston, you have a problem. Because when that iced coffee is delivered, it will be as white as the receipt you were just handed, which inexplicably contains the notation "XTRA CREAM." And it will be so loaded with sugar that your kidneys will shut down before you can finish that ungodly concoction. I am not exaggerating when I say that I have ordered minimally two dozen iced coffees at this place, and have never, ever received one that comported with my order. 2) If after receipt of your iced coffee, you attempt to engage an employee to rectify the mistake, you will likely be met with avoided eye contact. If you press the issue, audible sighs, eye rolling, and a distinct lack of comprehension-- legitimate or feigned-- will ensue. Once, I asked a cashier how many ounces were in a medium iced coffee. She stared at me for a beat, and said "How much does it cost?" "No," I repeated, "how many ounces?" She replied, incredulously, "What? I don't know!" At my job, the answer "I don't know" doesn't fly. Especially when the actual answer is utterly, unquestionably attainable. In other words, the service here is atrocious. We frequently wait long, long spans of time for our iced coffee orders to be filled, while employees chat with each other and ignore our attempts to inquire as to when we might expect our beverages. The coffee, you see, is sitting right there. Waiting for someone, anyone, to pour it into a plastic cup full of pathogen-laden ice. And yet, despite my many complaints, I will return. I will endure these injustices again and again. Because I hate myself. read more

This McDonalds is like something out of a Dave Chapelle sketch. You will be the only car in line and it will still take you 20 minutes to get through the drive thru. During your wait random people will yell out to you for change and grandmothers in poom poom shorts will glare at you. I would give this mcdonalds 0 stars if I could. 1) people are spangin in the drive thru line 2) believe it or not the attendant stated quite clearly that they were, indeed, "out of ice cream; no ice cream". 3) the line was atrocious. When she was asked to please repeat what she said she again spoke with a harsh rude tone. On February 28th, I went to visit this restaurant as I was craving ice cream with two of my friends. It was 9:00 p.m, as we started to ask for what we wanted in the drive thru, we were told that the ice cream machine was cleaned and was out of use already. I was only craving something cold or frozen. I started to go down the line of various cold drinks that were up on the menu as an option, Oreo Mcflurry, McCafe chocolate shake, Vanilla cone, hot caramel sundae, Frappe, and even Ice coffee. As i kept getting more "no's" to my options I was confused and curious in the fact that these are made with different machines. As in addition, she said that "are not running right now". This specific McDonalds close at 12 at night (a.m), as someone who use to work at a fast food restaurant, I am sure you're not suppose to turn off any machines until closing hours or at least 15 minutes prior to closing if it is slow. I would not recommend this McDonalds in terms of lazy effort and bad service. read more
