I am NOT a McDonald's fan. However my honey woke up & called me with a bkfast burrito order :-) HoneyDo done! ;-)

As someone who isn't particularly fond of McDonald's, in general, I decided to step out of my comfort zone to take advantage of their promotional .50 cent double cheeseburger offer in celebration of National Cheeseburger Day. My experience, unfortunately, proved to be a cascade of disappointment and frustration from start to finish. My first mistake was assuming the McDonald's mobile app would make the process efficient. After placing my order, which included the cheeseburger meal and the additional promotional cheeseburger, I found myself in a slow-moving drive-thru line. Contemplating whether I should have opted for the pick-up service instead was futile as I was already committed. Upon reaching the window to receive my order, I discovered that the promotional cheeseburger was missing from the bag. In a futile attempt to rectify the situation, I tried to explain the issue to the employee at the window. Her limited English skills posed a challenge, but the colleague who came to her assistance fared no better. (Both of their commands of English was worse than my Spanish, or my Chinese, and that's a sad comment) With no resolution in sight, I decided to park and venture inside, hoping for a more efficient solution. The scene that greeted me within the restaurant was a long, slow-moving line at the single open cash register. My heart sank as I realized that my quest to resolve the issue would not be swift. When I finally reached the counter and shared my story with the cashier, she initially challenged my account, but upon presenting my digital receipt, she eventually conceded and agreed to get my missing cheeseburger. My relief was short-lived as the wait for the cheeseburger felt like an eternity. I couldn't help but think that with the implementation of kiosks and mobile apps, efficiency should have been the norm rather than the exception. Bottom line: My experience at this, my local McDonald's, was one fraught with frustration and disappointment. What should have been a joyous occasion, celebrating National Cheeseburger Day with an unbeatable deal, turned out to be a test of patience and a reminder of why I rarely visit the Golden Arches. While McDonald's may be efficient in the task of sucking the joy out of a day meant for cheeseburger appreciation, it ends there. Good luck getting a "happy" meal at this place.

Taste worse than carbonated water.

Service is terrible. Took 20 mins to order. Just absolutely terrible. I was hungry for a few burgers and I couldn't get that.

They told me in the intercom wait a minute. I then waited for 45 minutes with no response.

Food and service was horrible. All the restaurants down here are ruining the service industry by hiring islanders. It's sad!

Worst customer service. If they all hate their job so bad they should find another one.

I was here for about 7 hours working and got 2 lattes in that time (yes I have a problem). I had both the snickerdoodle and then later had the toffee coffee. The toffee coffee was soooooooooooooo good. Every staff member I interacted with was an absolute gem. Good crew and customer service. I also liked seeing that they would periodically walk around and clean. Good spot to hang out or work. Although it can be a bit loud if you're working and making calls, there is an outdoor area if you need somewhere quieter. I also got 3 of the Gulf Shores paninis to-go for my friends and they approved.

The egg muffin contains cheese, onion and peppers. Make sure to ask for some jelly, it came in its own little plastic cup which makes me believe it is either homemade or local. The english muffin is toasted and has melted cheese, which they did a very great job at melting. You also have a choice of sausage, bacon or ham to add onto the sandwich. Last summer I tried it with bacon and this year with sausage. Last year I ordered one, finished it, then ordered a second one. I was either starving or this is a top 5 breakfast sandwich I have ever had. They also have homemade cakes, pies and cookies. I tried a homemade peanut butter cookie last summer which was very good. The bagels are also good. They come with cream cheese which is very good as well. It is a dairy we never heard of it however, some of the best cream cheese we have eaten. We tend to stay away from big name brands. Happy Pappy's also offers fun spins on drinks and coffee. We haven't strayed away from their hot latte yet however, the Marilyn Monroe and Tiramisu Latte sound really good and coffee's we will try in the future.

This was my second or third visit to The Southern Grind at The Wharf, and I absolutely love this…read moreplace. It's so much more than just a coffee shop. The entire shop is beautiful and filled with the cutest coastal décor, artwork, jewelry, purses, gifts and unique little finds. There are so many beautiful pieces made with or inspired by shells, oysters and coastal life that you could spend quite a while just looking around. The shop actually reminds me of my late mother because this is exactly the kind of place and the kind of beautiful, unique things she would have absolutely loved. That makes visiting it a little extra special for me. They also have a great selection of coffees and specialty drinks, a full gelato area, and some seriously tempting desserts. I had a hot caramel macchiato, and it was delicious. I also had the chocolate fudge cheesecake brownie, or something very close to that name, and it was DIVINE! It's incredibly rich, so I couldn't finish it all at once--I brought the rest home and happily finished it later. The two young ladies working when we visited were wonderful. Both were so sweet, outgoing, informative and genuinely helpful, which made an already great experience even better. There's outdoor and indoor seating as well, which is perfect for The Wharf. Between the coffee, desserts, beautiful shop and wonderful service, I don't have a single negative thing to say. Definitely five stars and absolutely worth stopping in!
