This is a coffee shop at The Lodge at Gulf State Park by Hilton Hotel. They have decent coffee along with offering adult beverages in the wine, beer and cocktail categories. They also offer food here with sandwiches and desserts. This is just a grab and go place but there is nearby seating outside. The taste of the coffee is bad. The attitude of the folks working at the coffee shop is not friendly. They have baked goods, but we were told there is no way to heat it up... inspite of a sign saying we serve cinnamon rolls hot. How is that? Parking to go to the coffee shop if you aren't living at the lodge is a tricky situation. The lobby seating to the Lodge is beautiful and the view from the lobby is worthwhile, so if you want to experience this without paying $600 a night to stay at the Lodge, it's worth overspending on some bad coffee, but otherwise any other coffee shop will be a better pick. read more

Coffee was not good. We got two iced coffees (16 oz, which is the largest size but still small) and it was $18. For reference, I'm used to getting a 24 oz or 30 oz for around the same price. I realize this is in a hotel on the beach so there is a premium, but the coffee itself did not taste good. The menu is very small, no frappes or specialty drinks available. They have featured flavored lattes, which we both got iced. The espresso was very bitter in both, there wasn't enough milk, syrup flavor was non-existent, and my husband's tasted really off. I don't know if something was sour but it was strange enough that he threw his away. I drank mine but got another coffee elsewhere that day. I got the impression that there's just a basic espresso machine with no real thought or care put into the drinks...just a way to make more money for the already expensive hotel. Definitely not a place to come for the coffee if you aren't staying there. I will say they had a protein box with boiled eggs, fruit, and nuts for $6 that looked good. The Roasted Oak is a coffee shop located in the southeast corner of the lobby of The Lodge at Gulf State Park, which is by Hilton Hotel. They've got coffee, expresso, lattes, hand crafted cocktails, canned beers, a wine bar, as well as boards, dips, sandwiches, paninis, and desserts. There's no seating here but it's a few feet away from the lovely expansive veranda with one of the prettiest Gulf views across the dunes on the beaches of Gulf Shores. Tables and chairs there as well as Adirondack chairs with side tables is a great place to enjoy a hot or cold latte, s ack or cocktail while taking in the great scenery. Cooler months it's also a great place to grab a drink and sit by the fire or catch a fabulous sunrise over the beach. Roasted Oak was located inside the Hilton's Lodge at Gulf State Park. It was perfect! Our room had coffee, but I moseyed down there for a stronger and large cup of coffee. Upon arriving, I saw so many delicious breakfast pastries and heard the sounds of a busy coffee bar. Customer service was so wonderful!! I ordered an Americano and a savory pastry; however, I came back before leaving to order a mocha and some sweets (cookie, pumpkin bread and a chocolate marble bread). There is a bar area and the coffee shop overlooks the Gulf waters. There was some outdoor seating, too! The coffee was made perfectly and I got my fill from their yummy treats. Be sure to visit this coffee shop, if you're in the area or staying at the hotel. It's good stuff! It's up there on my list of favorite coffee shops. read more

A macchiato with caramel. Can not beat the view. You can hear the waves crashing. Coffee seems like it might not be very strong, but it's perfect for people who like blonde coffee. You have to park in the hotels parking lot, but it's worth the short walk up the walkway to left-hand side of the hotel. read more

kind of difficult to find after following address given. the only way to find was to call The Lodge itself to find. coffee was decent. i would not highly recommend, but it is beautiful scenery (especially the back porch). the pictures provided are simply the lobby for The Lodge. if i has to rate out of 10 it would be a 6.5 at most for coffee and 8.5 for aesthetic. read more
