There is a channel between two lakes that borders on the edge of the patio, so the boats are generally quiet passing through. We were so excited to pull up to this restaurant. The front of the building was decorated with the…read moreimages of the original owners which made it look so interesting. Stepping inside felt like a step back in time to about the "60's or 70's. So much of the original decor is included in the design of the restaurant including the old ice boxes and tin ceiling. The staff was very friendly, although our waiter seemed to have another task he was trying to finish so we didn't get much attention. We went for breakfast and ordered nothing special- straight off the menu. It took almost 45 minutes to get our food and the restaurant was not busy at all. That is what made the experience frustrating. Fortunately the food was really good. The sausage is homemade and delicious. The hash browns and eggs were cooked perfectly. They only take cash or checks so be prepared.

Between all the plates and saucers for coffee cups and creamer there was barely any room left on our table. Another tidbit: If you're under 50, you may very well be the youngest customer in the place. Great for those wanting to feel young again. The whole BUILDING was old and extremely dated, but appeared to be clean. Food was fine, nothing notable in my opinion but it did the job. The sausage appeared to be homemade, which is unusual. Pancakes were mediocre. Hash browns crispy on the outside. The servers seemed to enjoy sitting at the dining counter socializing, looking at their phones while not working- but they were friendly and I didn't think service was slow like others have written.

So I have never made a review and never plan on making another but this was so hilariously awful…read morethat I had to. So I went into the establishment with two other friends they ordered ahead of me. It seemed like the person manning the register was being trained. The first thing that I should've been tipped off by was that one of the employees in the back said "dude you need to change them from take out to dine in are all of these dine in?" And the guy at the register goes "oh uh yeah, my bad, I don't know". After this I ordered curly fries, a shake, and a grilled cheese bacon burger. He said my order back to me but only said bacon burger instead of grilled cheese bacon burger. So I asked him, just to check, I said grilled cheese right? He said "oh uh, yeah" and then pressed some buttons. So I thought, well good thing I double checked. It was fairly expensive but that's what you get now with inflation. After taking literally 5 minutes to break my 50 I sit back down. After a little while I get my food (he stumbled over and asked "uh is this yours?") now what I see is a burger, curly fries, and a kids meal bag. Now instantly I know what happened, this dude thought that I, a full grown man, ordered a bacon cheeseburger, and then also ordered a kids meal grilled cheese, complete with an applesauce. Now I only had a short time to eat before I had to leave and I knew if I had them remake it that it would take too long so I just told them yes. (Side note, grilled cheese was not even grilled, warm and rubbery bread). On top of this I didn't have my shake, after waiting a bit I went up and asked, to which they replied "oh uh yeah, I'll get right on that" which implies that if I didn't say anything they would have just forgotten. Bonus stuff, they tried to bring someone else's meal to my friend after they HAD ALREADY GIVEN HIM HIS MEAL NOT TEN MINUTES AGO. I actually don't know how someone can be this dumb. Anyway long story short food was fine but service was so bad it made me angry, not because I was upset that I didn't get what I wanted, but because I physically couldn't comprehend how someone made it this far in life without any kind of intelligence. Would recommend if you want to have a funny story.
