But this time…read moreI feel I need to share to hopefully help avoid another young couple from having their engagement time ruined. My son went to Grandgenett Jewelry and purchased an engagement ring. The second night his fiancee wore it a diamond fell out. I guess they must not check their product over very well before sending it out the door. Luckily, we found the diamond and thought they would be able to fix it. But this was not the case. They offered him a discount on another way more expensive diamond but when you have already spent your budget that isn't a very plausible answer. They did replace the ring at no charge, however, it had to be reordered and it took a month and half to get back. To top it off, when the ring was brought in they didn't even size her finger to make sure it wouldn't have to be brought back in again to be sized. Just what a young newly engaged lady wants is to not have her ring when announcing her engagement. Now they get the appraisal and it isn't even appraised for what he paid for it! I have never heard of anyone having that happen nor have I had it happen. Does that show that they way overcharged him for the ring? I have had several rings over the years from various jewelers and I have never encountered as poor of service as he has encountered here! When he asked me where I thought he should go to purchase a ring I thought, "Shop at a local small town jeweler where your ring won't have to be sent away and you will get better service and a better quality ring." Obviously that is not the case with Grandgenett Jewelry! You are just paying the higher price to support 2 jewelers and in turn receive terrible service! Hopefully when he goes to purchase an engagement band he can find another jewelry store with better service and better value for his money. He had planned to go back to buy the engagement band there but that will not be the case! I am so disappointed this has been their experience at such a special time. Please do not let this happen to you!
