Went for my birthday, classic drive in set up. They usually plenty of parking spaces, they have cornhole boards, connect 4, the menu is pretty basic but everything is fine very well. My daughters loved playing games while waiting for their food. Little more pricey than what I expected from when I had been here in the past but the cheese curd burger was amazing, and my wife and daughters loved their burger, chicken strips and corndog. Oh and of course the ice cream, also the rootbeer and rootbeer floats are something you cannot skip here.

Exploring Minnesota (son's 5th grade state report) on a family EV road trip from Southern California, the Cedar Inn and the nearby Green Giant were both among our named destinations. Once we saw the enormous grin and non-stop excitement in my son's eyes, we knew we made a good choice no matter how random this place seemed when we were forming our plans (Vegas, Zion, Brian Head, Mt. Rushmore, scenic Wyoming, the corn fields of Iowa, Minneapolis, Duluth, the Great Lakes, Chicago/Wrigley Field, I-70 through the Rockies and the yes, The Cedar Inn! The vibe of the restaurant perfectly fits that of Blue Earth. Everyone was smiling, friendly and seemed genuinely content to be just where they were. While we ate, the owner came out to chat with us. Of course he wanted to understand how his internet marketing efforts were working (well, I'd say) but he also shared a bit of his family history and that of the town. The burgers and fries were better than we expected and my wife had no problem finding something to satisfy her healthier diet. If you're in the area and/or planning to be, it's a great stop to get a bite, and enjoy some lite hearted 'entertainment' and dining as well as meet genuine people eager to chat. Don't forget to grab the nearby Geocaches, if that's your thing. Thanks again to the staff and Manager for making this a great stop along our journey. My son still talks about it with a huge smile and loves to sport his stylish Cedar Inn shirt.

Excellent thick crinkle cut French fries! I wouldn't mind eating here again just for the fries. Service was prompt and friendly.

We were so excited to pull up to this restaurant. The front of the building was decorated with the…read moreimages of the original owners which made it look so interesting. Stepping inside felt like a step back in time to about the "60's or 70's. So much of the original decor is included in the design of the restaurant including the old ice boxes and tin ceiling. The staff was very friendly, although our waiter seemed to have another task he was trying to finish so we didn't get much attention. We went for breakfast and ordered nothing special- straight off the menu. It took almost 45 minutes to get our food and the restaurant was not busy at all. That is what made the experience frustrating. Fortunately the food was really good. The sausage is homemade and delicious. The hash browns and eggs were cooked perfectly. They only take cash or checks so be prepared.

We came early on a Saturday morning for breakfast. Interesting facts: If you order eggs, bacon,…read moretoast, hash browns they all may arrive in a 5-minute window on separate plates. Between all the plates and saucers for coffee cups and creamer there was barely any room left on our table. Another tidbit: If you're under 50, you may very well be the youngest customer in the place. Great for those wanting to feel young again. The whole BUILDING was old and extremely dated, but appeared to be clean. Food was fine, nothing notable in my opinion but it did the job. The sausage appeared to be homemade, which is unusual. Pancakes were mediocre. Hash browns crispy on the outside. The servers seemed to enjoy sitting at the dining counter socializing, looking at their phones while not working- but they were friendly and I didn't think service was slow like others have written.

We really want to support them but…read morebreakfast here is just not an option due to (most recent visit): 1 kind of juice-a weak pulpless OJ, 1 kind of dark bread (wheat only), and the scrambled eggs were cooked to rubbery & our food arrived just warm (not even near hot.) It was NOT busy at all so that couldn't be the reason. :-( PS: if you order the biscuits and gravy your gravy is a simple flour/milk gravy with pepper-NO sausage whatsoever. The pancakes were good, nothing special. They had a little cinnemon roll for 2.75 which were fantastic. The menu was a little confusing. Me not realizing eggs came with the biscuits and gravy. But the menu is very small and simple, which i can appreciate. They had a pepsi spicket which actually was shooting out cherry pepsi.. to me thats an upgrade but i could see some wanting the normal thing. Prices seem very fair, however be ready to add 4 dollars for hashbrowns. The reason i don't mind though, you get good servings. Did not feel cheated. The server was awesome and attentive to multiple request from our table. Downside- cash only or local check I would eat there again for sure
