She prepared our order but could not open the drawer to take money--because...the girl was still counting money! (Wow). Unfortunately, our experience at the McDonald's in Elizabethtown, Ky was disappointing enough that I thought it was worth mentioning. We stopped at this location simply to get some drinks while traveling. The restaurant was easy to get to, and there was plenty of parking available around the building. We initially used the drive-through and placed our drink order, but when we received it, most of the drinks were wrong. Rather than holding up the drive-through, we pulled around, parked, and went inside to get it corrected. The staff at the counter tried to help us, but unfortunately they got the order wrong a second time. The manager tried to help, but unfortunately was not much help in getting the problem corrected. At that point, I simply took the incorrect drink and left. The restaurant itself has a relatively small storefront, and the inside could have used some additional cleaning during our visit. I understand that mistakes happen, especially at busy fast-food restaurants, and normally a single mistake would not bother me. Getting the same simple drink order wrong twice, however, suggests there may be some problems with either staffing, training, or the ordering process at this location. Overall, the experience actually gave me a new appreciation for how consistently good the service is at our local McDonald's restaurants. Based on our visit, I would not recommend this particular location for either drinks or food until they can improve their service and ordering issues.
