Despite having several different cold brew-based drinks on their menu, they actually have cold brew coffee only about 50-60% of the time. Yemeni coffee drinks are good and there isn't another shop close by that offers them. All in all, could be great, but the lack of consistency means they'll always be a second or third choice when there are other coffee shops in town that pretty much always hit the mark.

The Detroit Coffee Lodge was brought to my attention from a post on Facebook. There was a neighborhood group hosting a book club meeting there. I had thought about joining it. I didn't however, but I decided to check it out on my own time. I was really impressed that the inside has been transformed from the buildings' heyday. The owner did a fantastic job. It feels so modern and new. I snapped a few captures, and ordered a drink and a muffin to go. I will likely go back to explore other community happenings and to try more menu options. There is a window bar that seats about three, from my recollection; and enough tables to seat another 10-15 people. Parking wasn't an issue as there aren't many business surrounding the "lodge". I would love it if it's opening encouraged more business owners to locate in the area since it's located in the neighborhood that I grew up in.
