The Detroit Coffee Lodge was brought to my attention from a post on Facebook. There was a neighborhood group hosting a book club meeting there. I had thought about joining it. I didn't however, but I decided to check it out on my own time. I was really impressed that the inside has been transformed from the buildings' heyday. The owner did a fantastic job. It feels so modern and new. I snapped a few captures, and ordered a drink and a muffin to go. I will likely go back to explore other community happenings and to try more menu options. There is a window bar that seats about three, from my recollection; and enough tables to seat another 10-15 people. Parking wasn't an issue as there aren't many business surrounding the "lodge". I would love it if it's opening encouraged more business owners to locate in the area since it's located in the neighborhood that I grew up in.
