We went to McDonalds to get shamrock shakes. We called ahead to make sure the ice cream machine was working no one answered the phone. We got there and wanted to pay cash and no one was at the register. Two people were taking a break and everyone else was in the back. I had to ask someone to take our order. This McDonald's is a management disaster. The front counter is perpetually ignored in favor of the drive through customers. I went there today and everyone trying to order at the counter was upset because we were ignored. It took over 5 minutes to get an order placed and I was first in line. They got my order wrong. Had a very bad experience my kids where kicked of the play equipment because they where sitting still in a conrner and when they got off the equipment the little kid got right in there ear while the employee was watching and screamed in there ear, the employee ignored this and left. The food tasted like rubber and a kid threw up. read more

Shame on your establishment! Play center should be for all kids. Just because my 10, 11 and 12 year old are tall, they should be allowed to play. They weren't using the slides. I get it that weekend mornings are likely hectic at a right off the interstate McD's. There is always going to be some amount of error and chaos. 9:30 isn't that crazy of a time though. The drive through line was wrapped around the building. We went in and people were waiting in line to order from the kiosks while the line cashier stood still. I spoke my order to her and in the grand scheme of things I suppose with the sheer volume of folks eating breakfast at this time, the 5-10 min we waited for our food wasn't unreasonable. I did witness several folks come back in to get their orders corrected- not a good sign. My food order finally came up and the attendant asked if I'd already got my coffees - nope. So the other attendant who said she'd already made the now missing drinks had to make them again. Fine I get it. It's chaos in there and the order pickup system is rife with opportunities for folks to grab the wrong drink unknowingly. But this is an interstate McDonalds. Most folks grab their food bag and go. Only to discover one mile down I-81 there were errors. Again, the world isn't gonna explode if, in our case, one of the 3 sausage egg and cheese McGriddles is missing the sausage. Pick up and move on. I have a swallowing disorder but the severing of four cranial nerves on one side so I have to be careful about what I eat. Traveling makes this challenging and I'm thankful that McDs offers oatmeal. It's something I am able to eat and eat around the same amount of time as my family. Occasionally a McDs will be out of it but most of the time it's been a safe order. Comes with some sugar and fruit to stir in. (I wish they'd automatically add butter too) But today this oatmeal was a first for me. After getting my family all settled up with their breakfast sandwiches and dessert drinks [read: coffee], I opened my oatmeal cup, which was pleasantly warm like a cup of hot coffee, and my first thought was Omg - here is my missing coffee. It honestly looked like someone poured a latte in the oatmeal cup. I managed to get the spoon package open and stirred - not sure what I would find. But folks, I was wrong. It was not misplaced coffee. It was in fact oatmeal. Well at least grains/flakes/flecks of whatever instant oatmeal is were present in the cup. If I had to guess, after eating the concoction bc guys, this was my breakfast meal to last me 4-6 hours of driving more, was probably 2 tbsp of instant oatmeal flakes. I tasted no flavoring. No sweetness. Just oatmeal and I'm guessing warm milk. And the little bag of dried fruit. No sugar. Or butter. I think they forgot to cook it ? As we were leaving with our bag of food, a bus with an army of purple shifted cross country runners descended upon the place. I can't help but wonder what surprises were beheld by that large crew at this already stressed and maxed out McDonalds. So while the bathrooms were pristine and a pleasant stop on our 17 hour journey for the thanksgiving holiday, I think we will pass on stoping at the McDonalds at exit 45 in Pennsylvania on the way back home. read more

McDonald's has changed over the years. It is no longer a place to take children and enjoy yourself. If you walk in the building, it is all painted dark. There is no bright places for families to sit down and eat. They would rather you call in your order and pick it up or go through the drive-through. That's sad. We have been here several times for dinner. The last time we were here, our young daughter vomited and McDonald's did not help us clean it up. We asked for a mop and a bucket, but they told us they don't have any. Instead, They gave us napkins for us to clean up the mess. On another occasion, I had to remind the manager the mens bathroom needed cleaning. The food is good and it comes at a decent price. The drive-through was quick and friendly. Had 4 cars in front of us. Ordered at one window, paid at another and got the order in about 5 mins. Location is closer to highway. Wanted spicy chicken nuggets (10 pack) along with their spicy sauce. They were out of their spicy sauce. Instead took spicy buffalo sauce. This place is great . The whole place has been redone and updated. The play place is awesome and we love the underwater theme. So many cool gadgets, like the touch screens and interactive tables, for the kids to play with. The ordering screens are easy to order from and the staff is so helpful for the ppl who don't know how to do it. The bathrooms are clean and maintained well. I will definitely come back! I liked the new setup, its neat. They recently renovated this location and updated many features. My wife and I don't care for fast food but our daughter heard About the new playroom, and chicken nuggets. She urged is to check it out. My wife and I are always adventurous and we enjoy trying new things. So we agreed to give it a shot. I ordered chicken strips and fries, wife ordered a parfait, and of course or daughter ordered the chicken nuggets kids meal. The food came, I started on the chicken strips, not that great. I reached for a fry, and discovered they forgot it. I mentioned it to the server, who was more then willing to go bring it right out. He must have been distracted, five minutes later I went in and three manager got the fry for me. I got back to my seat and my daughter asked where her chocolate milk was. I get that its newly renovated, and everything is a learning process but... this is part of why we are not fans of fast food, and one reason we normally never venture to McDonald's. 3 out of 5 stars is not a completely horrible review, but our daughter says she is fine with not coming back. read more

As far as McDonalds locations go, this spot right off of exit 45 of I-81 gives you what you'd expect in terms of menu options and deals. The service is spotty; some days the drive thru is quick and our orders are accurate, however on several occasions this is not the case. Just this week we sat for almost 10 minutes, seeing only one employee inside who was covering the drive thru, the front registers, AND trying to get the food for our order all on her own. Our fries came out crispy burnt because one of her coworkers forgot to pull them up when the alarm went off. They employ a lot of teenage workers, which is great for the community, but this location could really benefit from better training/staffing so their employees show up and do quality work on a consistent basis. It's centrally located along our drive to and from church along Walnut Bottom Road, so I speak from several years of experience and we'll continue to dine here for many years to come. I am so happy with the new renovation! So many McD's redo their space to cater to working adults, and we are so disappointed when we lose our indoor play spaces. There is still a climbing area, but also responsive tech tables, movie screens, and Disney-like window wraps that create much-needed privacy for this spot. Worst McDonald's I've actually ever been to. Service is terrible, snack wraps tasted like dirt compared to usual. This McDonald's will leave you pissed off. Probably one of the dirtiest McDonald's in the area. Floors do not look like they have been cleaned in months, mopping means actually using clean water not water that has been in the bucket for weeks or months. the cashiers took 4 times to get the order correct even after a shift supervisor showed the cashier what buttons to select. This is an absolutely horrible McDonald's location. The service was slow, although, my biggest complaint is that the drive thru lady looked at me and said oh, is this supposed to be half sweet tea? This place is horrible. Since doing their renovations the service has gotten worse than before. The kiosks make the process go so much slower and makes the personability of the employees even more lacking. Today it took 40 minutes for my order to be completed. FORTY MINUTES for an order of two happy meals, a side salad, and a mcdouble. Twenty minutes in an employee came to my table and offered me ketchup for my non-existent food. She then checked my order number and assured me it would be out in less than five minutes. 20 minutes later when it finally came I told the employee that once the food was made for the remaining people in the dining room (because I didn't want anyone else to be held up even more) I wanted to speak to a manager. The girl told me that it had been this busy for two hours and that wouldn't be possible. I then told her "I'd suggest the manager make it possible". That's when I noticed that after 40 minutes being made....all three of my sandwiches were made wrong and my son was missing his side in his happy meal. Seriously???? I took it out, had three employees ignore me standing there, and when a woman (possibly the manager) finally addressed me and I said I had been waiting 40 minutes and all three sandwiches were made wrong her response was "all three are, oh okay". Just had a ridiculous experience. It was 10:27 and I came through the drive through and ordered a quarter pounder meal. Employee took my order and asked what I wanted to drink. Told her coke. When I pulled up to pay, cashier was trying to give me a breakfast meal. I told them I wanted lunch and they said not until 10:30!!! Never once did anyone say, give us 3 minutes and we'll fill your order. I left with nothing. When I called back to complain, person on the phone also defended the cashier.
