Stopped by this McDonald's in the morning expecting a quick, simple breakfast. I ordered a meal that clearly comes with a hash brown... and guess what? No hash brown. The saddest part is that I didn't notice until I got home, so there went the whole "warm crispy hash brown with my breakfast" experience. The rest of the order was fine, but it's frustrating when the most basic part of the meal gets missed. Morning rush or not, double-checking the bag would've made all the difference. This morning (around 7:40, Sept. 4, 2025) I went to the McDonald's on M-37 in Caledonia, Mich. No one was in either drive-thru. I pulled up to the first speaker and waited. After 3 minutes, which I consider a bit of a wait considering no one else was there, a woman came on the intercom and said "I'll be with you in a moment." Yay! And I waited. After another 3 minutes, a car pulled up to the second speaker. In a matter of seconds, he had ordered and was pulling around to the window. What? I've been here nearly 7 minutes now and nothing. A second car pulled up to other speaker and, like the first car, immediately had their order taken and began pulling around to the window. Now I'm a pretty patient person, and I don't expect special treatment, but I was there first--way before them. So I started getting a little frustrated. I said "Hello?" into the speaker. The woman barked at me: "I said I'd be with you in a minute!" Such hostility. Such ambivalence toward a customer. They didn't care for my business--I was a nuisance. I uttered some profanity and drove away. Since they don't care for my business, I'll never give it to them again. It's the little things that make a difference, though I don't think waiting so long in an empty drive-thru just to be ignored over others is such a little thing. read more

This was by the far the slowest McDonald's I've ever been to. We had to wait for a long time (more than 20 min) when we ordered more in store and it was not due to more customers than usual. Ive been to busier ones with much faster service. We saw a customer get their McFlurry but it was completely melted when he got it. We could hear a worker telling another to get moving, so I'm not sure what's going on. We decided to go to another McDonald's on the way home for our desserts and won't return here again. read more

Need to get better with allergy request! You even have a sign on your menu stating "let us know about any allergies!". A special request is supposed to be added. It almost never is! If there's a bread allergy you need to make sure people are changing gloves, wiping off the grill and making fresh patties that haven't come in contact with bread! Kiosk error. Meal deal was what i wanted, and thought i ordered. McD floor worker ssid if i wanted fries/nuggets i had to add it. Was additional price (doubling cost of Meal Deal). Let's start off by saying this is McDonalds, so grain of salt when it comes to the food. It's fast food people. HOWEVER, swung in there this morning and was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED! Quick, fast service that was provided by lovely older women. Not being ageist in the least, just realistic. First drive through attendant was friendly and offered a smile while taking my cash. Second attendant just as pleasant. That's when I stopped and took a look at the workers I could see from the drive thru window - all older women. It was like being served fast food by your friends grandma. I just want to say KUDOS to the manager, cuz as this woman make her hike into work she enjoyed her biscuit breakfast sammy with a smile on her face cuz she was thinking of her grandma due to the staff being all of that age. This place cannot make an order without screwing up. My last order had THREE items and they screwed up two of the three. My no onions burger had onions. My unsweetened ice tea was sweetened. They did make fries. I got fed up and called the manager. She basically told me it was my fault but she would remake the order on another day. My problem with that is almost every order it's screwed up here. Park in front and watch. People pick up their orders at the drive thru go around and go inside to get their orders corrected. The husband and I just stopped at this McDonald's while on our way to Holland. We ordered; 1 hamburger, 1 4 piece nugget, 1 caramel frappe & 1 pineapple/mango smoothie and we waited for our 4 items for OVER 30 minutes!! We probably would have been waiting longer if I didn't inquire about it. Our 2 food items sat on the counter for 20 minutes (getting cold) while we waited for our drinks. After I asked a few team members where our order was, they said that it was here~referring to the bag of cold nuggets & a burger. They did NOT try to fix the problem or even apologize. Biggest waste of time, do not go here!!! Can't handle weekend rush and messed up our order multiple times.

Got our order home (9/5/19) ~7pm and found both egg McMuffins we ordered were without cheese. The muffin edges were a bit more charred than usual so I torn some off. That's when I noticed there was no cheese on the first one. We had ordered a Happy Meal (cheeseburger) and another meal, there were no instructions to withhold cheese on any item. The 2nd egg McMuffin was checked and also came without cheese, but was less charred. We usually have a good experience at this McDonalds (use drive-thru only). It won't stop us from going here at all, but it was quite disappointing. Mistakes happen. If we continue to get good service (correct orders) I will adjust the rating. The staff is friendlier than most other chains we've been to in the Grand Rapids area just to the north. We would still recommend this establishment to anyone. read more

Concisely: when I ask for a filet of fish with extra tartar sauce and you give me no tartar sauce, you are not doing your job. Employees at this location have made this error multiple times, and I am not sure if it is due to miscommunication, inexperience, or maybe the employees are just messing with me. Food-wise, this is a typical McDonald's Restaurant. The people who work here? HORRIBLE. The teenage girls behind the counter literally mocked my husband and I because we forgot to add something to our drive-through order and had to come in to get it. They called us names ("f-ing retard") and the manager laughed right along with them. A few months later my car broke down near here, so my friend and I decided to run in for breakfast. A different manager this time. He was on the cash register and he screamed at the employees while we were trying to give him our order. He shouted back and forth about firing someone named Nicki, and asking his employees - who were back in the grill area - who they could recommend to come work there in her place. This conversation, as I said, was literally SCREAMED back and forth! The behavior of the employees at this restaurant is deplorable. McDonalds is a horrible place. The people I know that work there won't eat there. I would trust my sister to make me a McFlurry, but I won't order anything from the kitchen. This review is mostly for people passing through Caledonia who don't typically frequent this McDonald's. This is not for the locals, who will just keep coming back, no matter what. TL;DR: This McDonald's is a waste of your money. Do not stop. But hey, if you like to wait 30 minutes in a drive thru for guaranteed cold fries/food, the nastiest soft drink you've ever had, and then some, this is your place. Wendy's nearby is far better. Despite that, no matter what hour of the day you come here, there is a line around the building at all hours of the day, while Subway and Wendy's nearby are almost always slow. Something about this McDonald's (my guess is price, more on that later) just keeps people coming back. A combination of a lack of other options and a rapidly growing community/town has overwhelmed this McDonald's to the point where they can't handle their traffic. They could double their staff and it still wouldn't be enough. I will keep holding out for hope that a Taco Bell opens in Caledonia soon. Management knows that the locals will just keep coming back because there are not many other options, and the nearest McDonald's is a good 10 minute drive away. They not only will payroll the minimum amount of people needed to staff the place, willing to work for as low pay as possible (which is the case), but they charge more for their food, as well. The staff isn't allowed to accept tips. You can't even bribe these people for fresh, hot fries. I have finally come to my senses and will never, even out of total laziness, go to this McDonald's again. This is the best McDonalds experience I have ever had and if you need some faith in humanity renewed please read! I was getting rained on ten minutes before the AM shift opened and the manager let me in, kindly explaining I couldn't order food until 5. Once I was seated, a wonderful employee brought me a coffee she bought for me before my order was delivered. Next, after ordering on the touch screen, a third employee told me she bought me an extra hash brown.
