1-13-2020 I decided to go to the new McDonald's down on east Thornton street on the old site of fire station number four in downtown yesterday. It is a nice new building and is a decent size and it's really nice inside and has a nice kitchen layout in my opinion the only thing I'm questioning is why does it have three drive thru windows? I decided to order the dinner box which has 2 big macs, 10 piece nugget, 2 cheeseburgers and 4 small fries in it and it came to a total of $16.00 and I'm not sure I'd it's just this location or if that's everywhere but I remember the dinner box only being 12.99. The restaurant was nice and clean all being a newer building it has only been open 3 days or so and the staff was nice and friendly and I only had to wait for about 5 minutes for my order. I will probably frequently visit this McDonald's because of its close proximity to the Metro Transit Center which is only maybe a 5 to 10 minute walk. read more

This place is the worst mcdonald's ive ever been to in my life. I will be telling everyone I know about this place. Drive thru Service sucked. I order new Cesar chicken sandwich meal. The bun was hard. Correction the bottom portion of the bun was hard as a rock. My large fries looked like a small in a large container. And my large orange Hi-C was practically water and to top it off I ordered no salt on fries and instead got fries on salt. Thanks for nothing mcdonald's. I understand that this location is directly next to a college, but the wait is absolutely atrocious. I went inside and waited at the counter for 15+ minutes for a pick up order that I was staring at. Nobody came to ask what I needed, hell nobody was even up at the counter. Mind you, there were several other people in the lobby with me. When I finally got my food it was cold. 8 months later man and still can't with sometimes. We order on big max and they made us pull up to the waiting spots. We waited like 15 minutes. CRYING . Will update in another 8 months. Best McDonald's in Akron. Interior design is well done and there is an amazing view from the windows. Very pedestrian friendly as well with crosswalks and outdoor seating. Good ambiance unlike most McDonald's. read more

This McDonalds is TERRIBLE! I keep thinking that they're just having a bad day, but I'm starting to realize that every day is a bad day. I should NEVER have to sit in a fast food drive through for 20-25 minutes yet I repeatedly do at this location! It's infuriating. This has got to be one of the busiest McDonald's in the Akron area. It's located across from the University of Akron and is inundated with students at all times of the day. It also is the location of Zippy the official mascot of the University of Akron. read more

I will never understand how hard it is to complete a simple order. I ordered a hot latte and the drive through worker asked me three times whether I wanted my drink hot or cold. I told them three times hot and they still screwed up and gave me a iced coffee. Unfortunately this is a reoccurring issue when your go to the worlds slowest McDonald's. read more

The service here is terrible. I went through the drive through, and I waited to be helped. While I was being helped, the lady told us to hold on and switched over to the other lane mid order. She then proceeded to help other cars in the other lane. I ended up leaving as I had now been there for 15 minutes. They weren't busy, so there was no excuse for the terrible service. read more

Consistently the worst mcdonald's I've ever been to! Standards are non existent! The managers are the rudest one's I've ever had the shocking displeasure of witnessing. I've seen them openly mock customer, even ones who were still standing at the counter. I've seen them take food back into the kitchen from over the counter. It's no wonder that after eating a burger here I ended up with horrific food poisoning. This place needs some serious retraining of managers, and a top to bottom evaluation from corporate. Worst customer service ever if I could leave 0 stars I would what joke, I pulled up to the drive thru and went to order and the person taking my order was very rude and requested that I only pay cash when all I had at the time was card. I live right down the street from this mcdonald's and i'm there all the time! the staff is always super nice. On Sunday March 24th around 3am. the lady at the pick up window was so nice and I missed her name! the general manager is so nice and very very helpful. they are always busy but they care about their customers!!! read more

If youve been to the Mcdonalds in the southern states, say N. Carolina and on, their biscuits are homemade quality , soft and delicious. We experienced the difference in King, NC. Their biscuits were soft, flaky, moist and delicious. Got back home and the ones purchased on Arlington St, Akron were nothing like that. Not moist, crunchy on the outside, not flaky. Only breakfast after midnight. Have waited over 30+ minutes for orders as an uber driver multiple times. Employees are never friendly.

This place sucked I asked 6 times to the guy working at the desk to put no raisins in my oatmeal or cranberry's because I have an allergic reaction. The manager even had to show up because he didn't know how to put it in like that. So after 5 mins I finally saw "No cranberry's or raisins" typed out on the screen. Then I order my smoothie. When it appeared I took it and went to my car. First I noticed there was no straw in my bag even though I asked and was two sizes smaller than what I asked for. Then, I open my raisin filled oatmeal and began sneezing and getting puffy. Thank goodness I had an epipen with me. This place is not only inefficient and slow but hazardous too. read more

This McDonalds is horrible. While eating lunch had to run out of the store to stop them from trying to tow my car. The manager claimed that she asked if someone owned my car, but this was an absolute lie. She was very argumentative and kept changing her story. Interesting enough that some reviews on google also state that they towed their cars while eating there. Sounds like a money maker for them!!!
