SECOND VISIT My second time accidentally ordering pick up via the McD's app since this place has opened this year. I hate that I keep doing that! Pros: It has a drive thru that is open 24/7. Cons: This place is "To-Go" only, so there is no place to get comfy there. Keep that in mind. It's strictly grab up your food and eat in your car, head home or some other destination. Not really a "con", just something to be aware of. Their website needs some major attention as the hours are not updated, it literally says they're closed right now. Smh. https://www.mcdonalds.com/us/en-us/location/tx/san-antonio/12844-potranco-road/40943.html#accordion-6ce38473d6-item-7e260aa21e What really irritated me were the drinks. I ordered 2 large Sprites (with no ice) and when my order comes out to me at curbside, I see the worker struggling to hold my bag of food and two large cups in his arms. A drink holder/carrier would've been a nice offer (whether I accepted or not), I mean, what makes you think I wanna struggle like you are when I get to my destination?! My usual McD's location brings items out in a caddy with sauces and other conveniences that could easily include folded drink holders in case patrons request one. It's a thoughtful touch and I would've certainly accepted one. But the real issue was my drinks were LITERALLY HALF FULL. I don't like ice watering down my drinks so I ask for none, which every other location will still fill my drink to the top. Not this location. See pic. I should've photographed the other, but I offered it to my hubby as it had slightly more than this one (I'm a nice wifey). The levels between the cups weren't even level. But really? Are you THAT hard up that you penny pinch on freaking soda?! It reminded me that they actually did that the first time I was stuck picking up my order here. Clearly a unique move by a franchisee that has approached operations for this new location with a very strict budget. Good luck to them, genuinely, but I'm good. I'll pass on this location and stick to my usual location further up the road @ 14250 Potranco Rd. near the 211.

When I tell you I love Jersey Mike's, I mean it in a deep, borderline-spiritual way. Not many know…read morethis, but during my college days, I managed a Jersey Mike's. I had a small, scrappy team of 12 who could whip up sandwiches faster than a Formula 1 pit crew. Those were wild times. We didn't just make sandwiches; we made giants-absurd, cartoonishly large creations. These were Scooby-Doo-level sandwiches: towering monstrosities where you'd need two hands, a spotter, and maybe an engineering degree just to take a bite. I swear, some of those subs looked like they were designed to fuel Olympic athletes for an entire season. And the meat? Oh, you'd think we were carving up slabs for a medieval feast. But I digress, let's snap back to why we're really here. Today, I ordered the #8 (Club Sub), a turkey and ham classic with provolone, bacon, mayo, and a crisp layer of lettuce and tomatoes. Now, let me be clear: I'm usually a #9 guy. The #9 is my sandwich soulmate, my ride-or-die sub, the one I'd defend in a court of law if it ever came to that. For reasons unknown, the app didn't let me select it, and I'll admit, there was a moment of panic. But then I looked at the #8, and I thought, "Alright, let's give you a go." And let me tell you--this sandwich was beautiful. The turkey was tender, the ham savory, and the bacon crisped to perfection. That mayo brought everything together, and the veggies were fresh enough to remind me of my mum's garden back in the day (a bit of an overstatement, but you get the point). I got it "Mike's Way," of course, because who wouldn't? The vinegar, olive oil, and seasoning drizzle made this sub sing like Sinatra on a good day. Picking it up in person added another layer to the experience. There's just something about walking into a Jersey Mike's. The atmosphere hits you like a warm wave of nostalgia--slicing machines humming in the background, the aroma of freshly baked bread in the air, and the hustle of the team working in perfect sandwich-making harmony. It's fast-paced, but not rushed, with a sense of order and camaraderie that feels oddly comforting. It's the kind of place that makes you feel like part of the process, even if all you're doing is watching from the counter. This Jersey Mike's team absolutely smashed it. Their focus and hustle reminded me of my own crew back in the day--working hard, probably having a laugh or two in between orders. So to those workers today: Enjoy your time with each other. These days may seem fleeting now, but someday, you'll look back and realize you were building something special--sandwiches and camaraderie alike. I'm proud of you lot. Keep making those subs with heart and pride. Five stars, no question.

We went in on a busy Sunday afternoon. The staff was polite and courteous. While we waited for our…read moresubs to be made for take out, another customer began complaining about his bill. He became, in my opinion, belligerent and rude. The staff tried to placate him, but he wasn't listening to their explanations. After a few tense minutes he left. I know his behavior upset the young lady who had dealt with him. She and another employee stood their ground while still being polite and professional. Kudos to them for keeping their cool. Also, the subs were delicious!
