FIRST TIME VISIT! Restaurant was really dark when I rolled up, thinking it was closed or something. But nope, they were open for business and open until midnight as usual. Sweet! Cuz this family is hungry. Raymond met me at the drive thru. Isn't it so much easier to order face to face instead of through a speaker box?! He was so cordial, professional knew his menu well. We got through, what I thought was a complicated order, very quick! He asked if there was anything I wanted to add and I asked him for suggestions. He recommended the Texas Sheet cake so I happily ordered 2 pieces. A worker by the name of Ruben met me at the window. He efficiently went through my order to be sure all sounded correct and worked to gather my order. Received my drinks within a minute of waiting. He was so smiley! Just the sweetest. Once home, we unloaded everything and the food was good. I enjoyed my regular sized order of loaded fries "all the way" (cheese, bacon, jalapeños) and honestly, couldn't even touch my burger. I had the Orange frozen drink which was nice, but tart and wished the shaved ice slush was smaller. I love that this place has crinkle cut fries - my fave! I highly recommend this brand new location. While I used the drive thru, their dining area was cute, modern clean and well lit. They also have an outdoors dining area. The staff here are efficient and friendly. I recommend the Oreo Shake and the loaded cheese fries! I enjoyed my first visit here! If anyone knows where I can find a good chili cheese fry, let a sista know?! Please! I just don't get it. I know so many people who love burger boy and I just don't get it. I thought maybe I was wrong so our family gave it another try and again we were just not impressed. The patties are thin and why were the buns soggy? And there's grease all over everything. The fries had no seasoning. The best thing I could say is the Reese's shake was good and they have sweet tea. This family is sticking to Whataburger for fast food burgers and Diane's for an old fashioned burger. read more

Living in San Antonio for a few months and continuing to visit has put me onto Burger Boy, a San Antonio-based chain known as the 'tone's original burger joint. My first experience with Burger Boy was after deciding to camp for Jack White's show in San Antonio at Paper Tiger. I stopped for lunch at the Burger Boy across the street. Having a Bates Special and a Neapolitan shake was enough to establish my opinion of Burger Boy being quality. Only a few months passed until the Burger Boy off 211 and Potranco opened, and it has become a must-stop for me every time I'm visiting my parents. Sometimes I stop on my way home and get a Fruity Pebbles shake, fries, or both. Other times I stop coming home and grab a Bates Special with cheese and a Fruity Pebbles shake to take home and eat, and I crush it every time. There is always a person in the drive-thru line to take your order vs. a speakerphone, showing their care for customer service. It's easy to pay right when you order, so all you have to do is move through their efficient line and then you're on your way. If everyone is held up waiting for their food, why wait to pay on top of it? It's obviously going to draw some comparisons to the other heavy-hitter burger joints in San Antonio, but I'll fight to the death in support of Burger Boy. I think the best comparison to Burger Boy is like if In-N-Out fixed their fry game and they raised their shakes from like an 8 to a 10. There's no need for these specialty burgers when your classic smacks as hard as Burger Boy's. I'll continue to go back and consistently destroy Fruity Pebbles shakes and Bates Specials. Looking inside everything looked nice, clean and new!A young man confirmed our order once at the window, waited a few minutes, and got our food and everything was correct! Got the food home and open the loaded fries, jalapeños looked strange but taste good the fries were dry IMO but good cheese and bacon! The fish sandwich was thick, the veggies fresh tasty tartar sauce, a perfect fish sandwich! The burger was OK, good flavor, fresh veggies but a bit much mustard. The chicken sandwich was WHOA!!! Super crispy, juicy and tender! Undoubtedly the best chicken sandwich I've had in a long time!! Oh My! Glad they put on in around the corner because it makes things way to easy. My only complaint is WAY too much Ice in the drinks. More Ice is Less DP and that's a shame. Lost that 5th Star. It's Burger Boy, you know how it is. This location is brand new, some of the tables have never been used. I arrived just before the lunch time rush, and this place gets busy. The staff here was really pleasant and kept the order coming. They made it look effortless even with the drive-thru wrapped around the building. Now my first experience was down the road near 151 and now that it has opened right around the corner to home I was more than excited to give the new Burger Boy off Potranco and Hwy 211 a try! Upon entering the parking lot before the dinner rush one Sunday afternoon I was welcomed to all the outdoor seating and walk around to get to the front door entrance alongside the drive thru. Once opening the front doors, you are greeted by an open space concept and you immediately walk to the left to get in line to order. The employees here are very friendly and on top of their game in which is welcoming considering other places near here are hit or miss when it comes to service. I ordered the Bates Special, a classic combo added cheese and bacon and it was made to order pair it with crispy crinkly fries and medium soda and the taste of their burger is a reminder that brings me back for more. Now expect your Classic whole size burgers and fries which is what you'll find at Burger Boy add one of their delicious sweet shakes and you'll see why this is a San Antonio favorite! read more

The service and ambiance were great. Not recommending this place is entirely because of the food. I ordered the double boy, loaded fries, and a chocolate shake. The double boy was ok but needlessly greasy. I get it's a burger, but the wrapper doesn't have to be see through. I'd overlook it if it was delicious, but it isn't justified. The loaded fries were the best part of the meal, but they're generic. They don't stand out from any other loaded fries. The shake also wasn't bad, just bland.
