This was our first project with Lee and Finest Fix…read more I sent out a quote request via Yelp Projects and Lee got back to me on the same day with their rate of $95/hr + materials. I inquired on how long the job would take based on pictures I sent over, and he replied "an hour max, and it will probably be a couple screws and glue" Communication was OK overall. Lee contacted me on a Monday and asked for the address, email and phone number and asked about my availability for the remainder of the week. I didn't receive a response to my reply, so I had to follow up the next day. We were able to get the job scheduled for the same Friday and his team came to complete the project utilizing a lockbox we provided. I didn't receive any updates during the job, which probably would have helped the surprise of the invoice I later received that was $232.35 when I was expecting something closer to $100 based on our first conversation. Lee did promptly reply and let me know that they thought they would hit a stud but since there was nothing, the job was more complicated as they had to create the support. Overall, still a solid experience and I would still consider using Lee and Finest Fix in the future.

HandyGoose was hired to replace aging beams and supports on a 35-year-old wooden deck…read more Communication throughout the project was excellent. George and his team are excellent carpentry and construction workers; their expertise in deck construction has made my deck safer. The only aspect I disliked about the construction was the industrial appearance of the toggle bolts connecting the beam. I plan to apply plastic bolt caps on the studs for a more aesthetic result. Management never provided a detailed invoice. The estimated parts cost was $4000-$4800, while other quotes fell near $2500. I sourced retail costs of #2 grade lumber from Home Depot, and even with shipping, handling, fuel, and fasteners, the total would not approach that range. I will hire them again for another job but will want more detailed costs to budget.

Scheduling that was straightforward and he arrived at exactly the time requested. He took a look at my jobs (a mixture of plumbing and electrical work) and gave me an amazing price. I asked him to give me a few days as I hadn't received all the hardware. Once I had, I called him and he was able to come out the next day to start. He showed up on time and stayed till late in the night so that he could get as much done as he could. I asked for some modifications to the original work and he discovered a lingering plumbing issue yet he didn't ask for a huge increase in price. His pricing is fair and actually at the bottom end of the pricing scale. His actual work was top notch. He is meticulous about how he does everything and he takes pictures and explains any problem or issues that might arise as he is doing work. HIs transparency gave us confidence to ask him to do more things. His fair pricing meant that we didn't have a shock. We actually tripled the amount that we intended to spend, but, we actually got him to do so much more work because we trusted him. On top of all that he even called us a few days after the work to check in on us. Highly recommend this professional. In all areas: pricing, timeliness, neatness of work, actually fix things, he is top notch.

Despite faithfully following the directions and lots of time on YouTube, I just couldn't get the pieces to fit together perfectly. Found Magic Hands here on Yelp. Spoke to Ricky, explained my situation. The fact that I'm in Lansdowne (not really his core area) and only needed an hour or two of help to get me on track, probably made this a bit less than his most enticing job of the week. Nevertheless, he worked with me to find a time that worked for both of us. He sent his guy Chris, who was terrific - polite, professional, very competent, and - best of all - very patient with me as he showed me how to do the job, what I'd been doing wrong, etc. I still pan to be a DIYer whenever possible, but I've saved Magic Hands' number in my phone, just in case!
