What initially created the need for the call was a gas fireplace that would not ignite I had previously tried ChatGPT, called a chimney sweep company, and even called the previous owner of my house, all to no avail. Within a few minutes of of arriving, Jordan was able to locate the hidden shut off for the gas fireplace and get it working pretty promptly. While here, he was able to notice a couple of other things that needed attention. My tankless water heater had been installed incorrectly by the previous plumber, and the technicians from Hukill's were able to manage that. And also, when it came to a clogged sink in our master bathroom, they were able to address that as well. By the end of our time together I had heard some good stories from Jordan, I was able to practice my French with Joseph and most importantly had a lot of small annoyances cleared up (literally) leaving my home in better functioning order than when they arrived. Charged me $510 and told me to try somebody else (recommended I call the plumber that originally installed it). That plumber had it pinpointed in minutes and got it solved. When I spoke with the owner of this company, he said his guys are trained to trial and error for 2 hours before actually trying something else, such as a camera. I would have had to pay another service call with minimums just for this guy to come back out and use the tool he should have used out the gate, but clearly, these guys would rather charge the $210-$300+ per hour to eventually solve the problem on my dime rather than use the right tools to begin with. Having run service businesses for over 20 years, that is a very poor business practice. Use the right tools, troubleshoot properly, and charge appropriately. I would have been fine to pay the $510 and then some to get it right. However, I'm not sure that this would have been solved for less than $1,500-$2,000 with these guys. The owner was upset that I suggested they did a poor job and refused to refund anything. He did offer half off one hour of a future service call, and I told him I didn't trust them to do future service, so he basically fired me as a customer and hung up on me. Terribly unprofessional. Shower Issue: In the middle of a warm shower the water would turn exceedingly cold for no reason…read more 5/23/25: We called Atomic Plumbing to look at the Master Bathroom Shower where we are having the issue Atomic Plumbing came out on the 23rd; After troubleshooting they determined the Delta Single Handle Valve (Cartridge) had a bad Anti Scald Valve. To resolve the issue, they removed the old cartridge, and installed a new Delta cartridge (RP4663) recommended by tech. After the work was completed the components were tested and verified according to the Tech who was positive this would resolve our issue. The cost for the Service and Parts was $325 After spending $325 on the first service call the same issue was still occurring, so we had to make a second service call to Atomic Plumbing 5-27 Atomic Plumbing made another Service Call for the same issue The service Tech is now irritated that he had to come out a second time to troubleshoot the issue they didn't' resolve the first time. With a feeble attempt to trouble the same issue, the Tech arrogantly stood in front of the shower for seconds and said he could not find any issues and that the shower was working properly. Again, I explained to Tech that my husband and I are both experiencing the same problem and it is still not resolved. Atomic Plumbing's response "Your issue is fixed and there was nothing they could do". Since they couldn't resolve the issue with the existing Shower head they recommended replacing the existing shower head with the Delta Woodhurst Single Handle shower head. Frustrated with the issue, we agreed The cost for the Service and Parts was $260 Note: His invoice is $260.00 but he charged me $ 270.40 At this point we have spent well over 500 dollars on resolving our original issue BUT now we are having issues with the replacement Delta shower head they installed New Issue: After turning off the shower the shower head continually leaks 5/27/25 We decided to call the Atomic Plumbing owner (Billy Matta) to discuss the issues we have encountered with the money we have spent and the parts that have been wasted trying to resolve our original issue and now the new issue with the replacement Delta shower head is leaking. We were only asking for help!!! The owner, Billy Matta, was extremely rude and belligerent and proceeded to tell me that there was not an issue his techs could find and that we insisted on replacing the device that was not working. We only asked about the replacement Delta part since the techs could not fix existing Delta shower. After a long discussion I mentioned to him that the shower is now dripping water all night long. He rudely informed me that he would send someone out to look at it but basically that is all they can do. He became angry and informed me to find someone else to fix the leak and proceeded to hang up on me This has been the worst customer support I have ever experienced where the owner of a company tells a customer to go to another company to fix their problem Thankfully we took the advice of the Atomic Plumber Owner to find another Company to fix their issue The new company came out and indicated on their invoice that the replacement Delta shower head was dripping and found the cartridge wasn't making proper seal due to the scaling in the shower value. They lightly sanded inside the value and installed a new shower cartridge, checked for leaks. The shower is now working properly thanks to the new company Inconclusion regarding Atomic Plumbing: * Subpar work * Poor customer Service * The owner was very disrespectful, insolent and quick tempered and had no interest in helping us with our concerns * I will never use or recommend Atomic Plumbing to anybody
