It sits just on the outskirts of the Hutto city limits and despite still being somewhat in the country, there are some new homes next to it. There are quite a number of headstones from the 1800s and there are many veterans buried here including a couple of confederate soldiers. The cemetery has a single lane gravel road running through the sections. This is still an active cemetery judging by a few very recent burials. There is a Texas historical sign at the entrance that tells you some great historical facts and is included in the photos of this review. This location is well manicured and the headstones are well arranged, not scattered about. You'll find many well cared for headstones, but there are no above ground mausoleums. This is one of the nicest cemeteries worthy of spending some time walking through.

The cemetery is surrounded by farm land on all sides which adds to its peaceful nature. The graves here span from the 1870s all the way to the present day. Despite being located way out in the country, it has been well taken care of over the years and the gravestones are in very good condition. This is still a very much active graveyard as there were several fresh graves from 2022 awaiting headstones. I found this cemetery to be very interesting and diverse. It has easy public access if you want to come look around. The photos below add more insight.

This cemetery sits at the end of a cul-de-sac on Teton Drive, which is just a few blocks from US 183 on Ohlen Road. Sadly, the cemetery which sits on less than an acre is in a shambles and in a very disorganized state. It is completely surrounded by residential homes on all sides, but this would've been in the middle of nowhere at the turn of the 20th century, which is how old some of these markers are. There are many older headstones here blended in with some newer ones as recently as 2020. Most of the cemetery is primarily green space with lots of toppled over headstones. That leads me to believe there may be many people buried at this location which may have had wooden markers at one time which have long since decayed away. Why there are some recent interments amongst these much older ones in such a dilapidated and disorganized cemetery is beyond me. I suspect this may be a African-American cemetery. Unfortunately, at this time, it does not appear that any attempt has been made to restore any of the fallen or broken headstones. At least the photos below will be added to Google maps.

There are 172 burials at the cemetery that have been documented at findagrave.com. Other documents and websites include various information about burials and family members. The Find a Grave listings include some images of the people buried there and their grave markers, obituaries, and death certificates. The cemetery, once in an open field, was surrounded by the Wooten neighborhood when it was established; eventually the high fence was added. Note: The church's website shows its name as "St. Paul." On Find a Grave, the cemetery is listed as "St. Pauls." The sign on the cemetery fence reads "St. Paul's Baptist Church."

One other thing you notice is that almost every grave is adorned with flowers and personal trinkets. This is still an active cemetery with many recent interments with plenty of room left. Quite a number of the headstones have porcelain photographs of the decedents. The majority of the headstones appear to be Hispanic in origin. I did not spot any headstones that went back before 1930. There is no Texas historical sign or informational kiosk at this location. Should you decide to make this your forever home, the photos included might help with your choice.

It's very close to Highway 20 and Shiloh Road, which is just on the outskirts of Bastrop, Texas. In order to find it, you'll have to turn into a school parking lot and then very quickly veer left onto a single lane dirt road and follow it about 1000 feet until you arrive. This is still very much an active cemetery for the local residents. It sits on about 3 to 5 acres and still has additional room in case you're interested. After scanning many of the headstones, it is primarily an African-American cemetery judging by the headstones and porcelain portraits affixed to those markers. It has a single gravel road that dead ends at the back of the cemetery. There's a lot of randomness as to how the graves are arranged with lots of flowers left by loved ones. I did not spot any headstones from the 1800s, the vast majority are from the latter part of the 20th century and on. There were a few service members buried here and most of the graves have granite headstones, but some are in the cheaper cast concrete. It's a quiet place, but you can still hear the traffic on Highway 20 not far away.

In the middle of this cemetery is a Texas state historical marker made of pink granite. It is dedicated to Major Robert McNutt who was the commander of the Texas forces at the battle of San Jacinto. Almost all of the 20 or so graves are from the late 1800s. There has been some effort to repair some of the broken headstones, but a little more work needs to be done. Like most cemeteries of this period, there were some infant graves. I also found three markers of unknown graves. This cemetery is slowly being surrounded on all sides by new construction. It would not surprise me if at some point in the future it is relocated. Definitely some local history to be found here.

Most of the graves that sit within this 2 to 3 acre enclosure are primarily from the 20th century and later. There are a handful of stones from the 1800s. This is still a very active cemetery with many well adorned gravesites from the surviving family members. The cemetery looks relatively well-maintained although a handful of older headstones are lying on their sides. There is still some space for future interments, but it is mostly full. There are three entrances to the property with a single gravel lane winding through the property. For the most part the graves are laid out in neat rows and some family plot areas, but there is still a little bit of randomness in some of the graves as to how they fit in. I did spot three historical names here that are tied to Austin/Round Rock history. There were several graves dedicated to the name Gattis (Gattis School Rd) and Boatright and at least one to Bohls. The Boatright name seemed to be the most prominent name in the cemetery. Two other names that I found in number here are Templeton and Summers. There are some service members buried here along with 3 confederate soldiers, 2 of them are of the Boatright name. If you're looking for a forever home or just want to check out some names of history, this place is worth a visit.
