I would recommend no one buy a Chevy. In my 2019 Chevy equinox Chevrolet decided to use a part in the breaking system that they knew had a history of failure and they had actually recalled from other vehicles. My daughter was driving my equinox during rush-hour traffic when this part broke, making her brakes almost as hard as a rock, and she barely avoided a collision with a full gasoline, tanker truck, who knows how many lives could've ended because of this brake failure. The broken parts then made their way into my engine, completely ruining my engine and making my car in operable. I tried contacting Chevy, but they have shown me that they do not care about my situation or apparently the safety of their customers. There has even been a new class action lawsuit filed because of all the damage Chevrolet choosing to use this part has caused. read more

Interested in leasing a loaner Colorado Z71, truck had nearly 5,000 miles and was a 2024 model. Their best discount price was three grand higher than the offer I have from CB Chevy on a 2025 loaner truck with 3k miles and even more factory options... Additionally their payment breakdown showed multiple random items including "up front costs" that decimated my proposed down payment of $7k... money in their pockets... I've made 15 car purchases in my lifetime so far including three leases in the past four years...I've never seen a dealership try to erase part of your down payment with random fees. Additionally their payment estimates were no where near the Edmunds lease calculator. I was never shown money factor or residual value which are key factors in every lease deal. The service dept. needs to hire some people that aren't vaping at work. Was told that certain work was only done on Friday only to be told on Friday that certain work could be done any day. Returned the car to get issue fixed that should have been fixed the first time only to be given the runaround on getting rescheduled again. Not happy. read more

According to the laws in Kansas, the consumer is entitled to a repurchase or refund if the vehicle is in the shop for more than 30 days in the first year after buying it new. Made agreement to buy my car, only if they put new tires on it, tires were bald on a 30k mile vehicle should have been my red flag to leave!!! Walter said he talked to his manager they could split the cost cause the tires would be $1500 so I agreed, paid $750 and purchased car. 2 weeks later took it back to get tires installed and they put Walmart Laufen Tires on $154 a piece!!!! They did not put the Continental Tires which would of totaled $1500 Talked to my salesman Walter Jones and he said they would reimburse me $500 back due to the fact that's not the tire we agreed to put on. Than spoke with Heath McRoy, he said check is cut just need Dylan to sign. Ok another day now Dylan says the GM Evan McCarthy will not refund anything!!! Offered an oil change lmfao!!! This has been a month of my time listening to lies from thier sales staff!!! I would give no stars if I could. When I purchased my used vehicle from McCarthy, I drove 5 hours to get there. The salesman pulled a bait and switch and already sold the car I was coming to buy. Didn't even show me the car until after he had me sign the papers. He was rushed to get off work i assume and basically it was here are the keys, so long. I purchased an extended warranty. My air conditioner compressor just went out. Come to find out that the date on the extended warranty I paid $3700 for was back dated to the original date of service of the vehicle (when original owner purchased it). Yes, was not told that. I have 67,000 miles on my vehicle and found out that that the extended warranty expired 6 months ago. I would NEVER PURCHASE or recommend this dealership to my worst enemy. read more

I drove from Wichita, Kansas to Lee Summit to look at an FJ cruiser. Once I arrived, the salesman said that the SUV was on the rat being inspected and detailed after we arrive. Five minutes later he came back he said you want the good news or bad news I said what's the bad news. He stated that the frame was rusted on and that it was unsafe and that they were gonna get rid of the vehicle. Basically trash it because it was unsafe. So I basically drove seven hours to buy this vehicle and everything set up for the purchase. I noticed the vehicle was still listed the weeks I noticed it was relisted at the McCarthy Chevrolet dealer in Olathe Kansas. However, they increase the price from 16,000 to almost 19,000. I called the salesman to ask about this and he said that that they put $3000 worth of work in it, blah blah blah. I'm a safety manager and I said that's ridiculous because there is a potential Upcoming class action lawsuit against Toyota because all of the frames on the FJ cruisers have serious severe deterioration. This is due to the fact that they did didn't use the right Spraying the frame. So if this thing was so serious that it needed to be trashed and then you said you fixed Fix a rusted out frame unless you replaced the whole frame. You can't so they're basically Selling a very unsafe vehicle. Plus wasting my time. The salesman also looked up another truck for me Frontier show me pictures of it. I went to another one of their lots and it wasn't even the same. And it was a piece of junk. I would stay away from this place one star and that's Even too high for them. read more

I took my truck to McCarthy's service department to have my radio fixed after another local dealership messed it up and then claimed I needed to buy another radio for it to work again. I explained the issue to the service rep, Jordan, took down all the information and worked with the techs to get it fixed. They were able to reprogram and calibrate the system and have it working again. I will definitely bring my cars back here in the future! read more

Bought a "budget vehicle" from McCarthy Chevrolet. Truck is totaled in repairs after a year. It has been in the shop frequently. After approximately 6 months of ownership, the trucks cylinder began misfiring and within a year the truck needed a new engine with less than 25,000 miles put on it in that time and only a year of ownership. Not only that, the total exclusionary warranty I bought did not cover my engine. I now have a massive loan on a vehicle I can't drive or fix and this was my only vehicle to get to and from work. All of this after my last truck was totaled from baseball sized hail in March of last year, which is what lead me to McCarthy to begin with. Needless to say, this is not in my budget and I will not buy from this dealership again nor recommend them to others. I bought a used Chevy Tahoe and was sold a extended "bumper to bumper warranty" and was told by the salesman that EVERYTHING was covered including powertrain and transmission. Transmission started shifting rough, so I took it in to get it fixed and they said the transmission part that was causing the issue was not covered!!! How is this part not covered? This is the Transmission control module that tells the car when to shift. I called the service manager and asked for the warranty companies number. He gave the wrong number so I decided to drive up there and speak with them directly. He said there is nothing they could do for me and it was the sales team that I should talk to for selling me the warranty. I went and spoke to them and they said they would look into it. 6 hours later I got a call from the service manager again and he said the they spoke to the manager of GM and he said they could not do anything for me. Why would they be calling GM directly and not dealing with McCarthy directly or the warranty company? This felt like a lame excuse and weak attempt to make me go away. He said you just need to pay the $200 diagnosis fee and you can get your car back. Now I have to pay more money to this company to tell me that the issue with my car is not covered by the 4,500 extended warranty they sold me. What an awful experience with this company. I was looking to buy a truck from them and even asked for a trade in value on the Tahoe when I dropped it off. They did not care about my issues with the warranty or selling me a new vehicle. I am a business owner myself, and would never treat my customers this way. TERRIBLE COMPANY! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!! read more

I certainly had a horrible and demeaning experience with the McCarthy Dealerships. I started with Tyler Bradley from the Chevrolet side. When he was sure he was selling me a car, his behavior was friendly and compassionate. I test drove to Hyundai vehicles with him. Upon looking at the price tag I saw an additional up charge of $1500 for dealer options. I asked about the options and specifically stated that I wasn't interested in floor mats one oil change and a sanitation package for that price. I also explained that I didn't reside in KS, so there would be no need for me to purchase anything at that cost that was KANSAS centered. He quickly said that I could purchase it and possibly transfer it to another vehicle. Again, I declined and said it was a deal breaker. Why would I pay that much for something I didn't want or need and was selected by the dealer. As you can see in the text I stated several times that the $1499 was a deal breaker. After asking to have my charges itemized, I saw the fee was included and was told it was not going to be removed. I said that was fine and I was returning the vehicle. I was accused of wasting the salesman Tyler's time. Well he was getting paid to work that day and all other times we talked, texted or emailed. When I arrived to the dealership, Tyler Bradley came to the dealership to confront me. The first words out his mouth was "so you was scared to face me, why didn't you bring the car to Chevrolet." I simply said we got the car from Hyundai. He continued to be loud accuse me of wasting his time and said he did all this work for me. He claimed to help me with my taxes because I was a Veteran. I spoke one time to let him know he didn't help me with any benefits that I earned as a VETERAN. While he was being belligerent, loud, and disrespectful not one employee asked him to stop or to leave. I held it down on my own. It was mortifying but I'm not one to back down. Within a day I communicated my issues all the way to the GM Tyler and only receive a call back after I posted my first Yelp review. In exchange to remove the review they offered to make it right by waiving the $1499 fee and by giving the commission to a new sales lady who was very nice. I reside in VA. I told them several times I would not register my car in KS nor did I reside in KS. All of my financial documents, check stubs reflected current info as well. I signed the paperwork after reviewing it very carefully. It still had the $1499 fee as well as the KS taxes. It took a managers approval to remove promises. It's now pass 60 days since I purchased my car. My temp tags have expired. While waiting I was sent text stating that I needed to call the dealership before they would use other option to get me to comply etc. the band said Tyler so I immediately locked the messages. I had no desire to speak with any of them so all calls were blocked as well as emails and text. After finally calling to reach out about my paperwork Jordan the finance guy left a message to say that I owed them $3300 sales tax for KS since I didn't pay them. Clearly I was in a bind but there was never a situation where I lied about my residence. Since they insisted that I use my old KS address my paperwork was filed wrong AGAIN. This as their error and they clearly could have contacted me by email or even at my job if this was such a pressing issue. I finally spoke to someone to resign the documents and clear as day TYLER BRADLEY is still receiving or received the commission after he was able to disrespect me be condescending and yell in front of their own staff. Trust me I was in a bind and needed to purchase a car. I did not want to give them my business. I was mortified but desperate due to some personal situations to close a deal and return. I am shocked that they didn't take my complaints serious or even the statements from their own staff who witnessed how I was treated. I'm an Honorable Female Veteran and never spoke out of line. Clearly with most business getting money is the bottom line. Just be careful and hopefully you are not out in a situation like me where you are in a bind and have to move quickly. I searched for a used diesel truck for a long while found one at McCarthy went up and looked at it was what seemed to be in great shape so I purchased the vehicle with a 30 day or 1000 mile warranty got it home the next day and as soon as I got it home(I live 45 min away) there was coolant in the oil and turbo was making an awful noise took it back up and they said they would fix the oil in coolant issue and look at turbo. They fixed the coolant and oil issue but not the turbo because it was (aftermarket) which was not listed in the sale add or paperwork. Got it home and it immediately started leaving oil spots in my drive way contacted them and they refused to fix it took it to a diesel shop and they told me that the truck was very hacked together a lot of missing components and it needed a new turbo. McCarthy still refuses to fix the truck so it had been sitting in my driveway for 5 months and I haven't ever been able to drive it. I have reached out over and over again and they just keep giving me the go around. I will not purchase another vehicle at McCarthy again and I hope this helps keep people from getting screwed like I did. read more

Beware of this dealership. They are complete scam artists! Jamie is horrible ! He agreed on a sale price of $21,000 and even went as far as to show an official document. Then did a bait and switch because the sale price was marketed up. Kevin in the Financial department took over where Jamie left. He didn't explain any of the financing terms and actively tried to prevent the contract from being read and just said "sign". After these discrepancies were found, this was brought to the attention of the finance manager Ray Payán. He took the time to gaslight the situation and claim that they didn't exist, even after it was pointed out that the numbers weren't adding up. He finally admitted to it after I kept pressing him about it and he promised he would refund the difference of the discrepancy. I just found out that he never did that either. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. I purchased a used vehicle through Jamie in 2020 and it has quite literally been the worst financial burden I've experienced in my life. I was 20 years old at the time and was completely and utterly taken advantage of. I felt pressured as soon as I got to the sales department to sign the documents. I wasn't verbally explained any of the paper work and felt as though I was too rushed when trying to read the contents of the financial agreements. I had family reassure me that these people were friends to them outside of this dealership and were "trustworthy" and even then I still got scammed. I didn't even make it 2 years with the vehicle before the engine locked up earlier this year due to a recall from 2018, later called a "product improvement" where no one is apparently held responsible but me. Mind you this recall or "product improvement" was 2 YEARS before I purchased the vehicle. Why was this not taken care of? Why was this not made clear to me? Why was this car even being sold? Why is it that neither this dealership nor the manufacturer are held responsible? These people do not care about their customers.. They care about hitting their commission and they care about their pockets. I am now upside down $12,000 and still paying over $300 monthly for a car that does not run. 9 months now without a car, countless Uber trips and rides from friends and family. First off, I've been a long time customer of the McCarthy organization, so this isn't one of those one time, "it didn't go my way" type things. I've had some real oddball service advisors over the years, but I bought the car there and I like having my service work done at one place. My background is in dealership management and as an auto industry consultant, so I think that I can honestly say that I'm giving a fair analysis. I won't go into the histrionics of bad service, I'll stick to the last time I'll ever set foot in there. I made an appointment for 9:30 AM for an oil change and went in to the dealership. I sat there patiently for an hour, then got up to see if my car was ready. It wasn't, so I sat back down and waited for another hour....still no car. Not wanting to be a whiner, I walked around the service area to see if it was busy and it wasn't, but having made eye contact with my service adviser, I figured that it might speed up. After waiting another 45 minutes, I finally went to the adviser and said "What's the status of my car?" He looked at me and said, "I totally forgot about it" to which I replied "Get it done or give it back to me" I sat back down and 15 minutes later he brings it up and I asked him where's my bill and he told me they didn't change my oil, but I get a free oil change the next time I go in. Blank damn stare from me and then I said " Keep your free f@#$&g oil change, I won't be back". 3 hours and change to sit in a socially distanced waiting room with no reading material. Afterwards , I called the GM and his secretary told me that he would get back with me....not a word. Rule # 1 in the car business is that if they bring it in for oil changes, they'll bring it in for the more lucrative repairs, but I guess these guys didn't get that memo. read more

Friendly people at the dealership however I didn't have a great experience, I was sold a car that had scratches all over the side I didn't see at the beginning (due to someone coloring it in). Since it had scratches and not dents they weren't going to replace it, since it wasn't on the car-fax. Now I wasn't going to write this, because I didn't want the salesman to get fired. Turns out he no longer works there, so I decided to write this to give everyone a heads up and give Mccarthy a chance to address and fix their policies moving forward. They did get me out of the car and then I had to make another down payment as well. Unfortunately there wasn't much of an option for me to choose from. I am FURIOUS with your dealership and plan to call to complain as well and additional leave reviews, everywhere possible. Not only did it take 2 hours, advised it was going to be 1.5 hours max. No one walked us to the car, went over a health check/diagnostics on the vehicle afterwards!? I also saw our vehicle sitting there for almost 20+ minutes, inquired if it was done, since we were at about 2 hours of waiting at that point, and was advised "not yet." I literally watched the vehicle sit there untouched for 20 minutes while no one touched it, then finally was told it was done. Also, guess what. You are supposed to test the battery am I not correct? My battery died so badly 1 week after this oil change that it almost couldn't be jumped to go get replaced. I am PISSED that no one walked us through the testing that was done during our oil change at this location. I do NOT BELIEVE for a second that you tested my battery, therefore, leaving me in a bind, a 7 1/2 month pregnant women, in the cold when I needed to get somewhere due to a dead battery. I could have been prepped for the fact that it was low/almost dead by your dealership and wasn't. Unacceptable. Also, small annoyance compared to the other issues we experienced, obviously, but your employees had a rude attitude the whole time we were there. I brought my car in completely fine to get free RECALL work/maintenance. When I get it back it wasn't drivable by any means necessary the engine was all messed up and so we're brakes. They refused to take responsibility, so anything to right the situation, and in the end I was forced to sell the call for $500 and buy whole new one (obviously went to someone else for the sale and purchase). Customer care failed to do their job and I was talked to disrespectfully or pushed off by anyone I was connected with. Very disappointed. If I could give 0 stars I would. They sold us a "certified" or should I say "lemon" 2010 Buick Enclave in September of 2013 and we have had constant problems ever since. Thank goodness we bought the extended warranty or I will probably be broke by the time this is all said and done. Where do I start? In the past 12 months the following has happened. - coolant hose disconnected - needed all new brake pads - needed all new rotors - airbag sensor - new tires - air conditioner went out This is all within 1 year! Anything related to the tires and brakes is on us too because it is our fault we bought a 2010 Buick Enclave...you can sense my sarcasm here. In my opinion if you are going to sell a "certified" vehicle then make sure everything is "certified" to not fall apart after the 6 month mark. New Rotors, brake pads, tires, etc don't fall apart in less than a year. I will NOT! Repeat, WILL NOT! Buy another vehicle or recommend anyone to McCarthy. If you want business you must earn business. We are talking thousands of dollars we spent on purchasing the vehicle and now we have had this thing in the shop for over 2 weeks and spent over 2k of our own money and not ONE APOLOGY or attempt to make this right. read more

Really poor customer service after the purchase. My salesman was ***** and was really great helping me get a good deal on a used Honda Pilot. He kept telling me how he strives for great service before and after a deal. What a bunch of crap. I realized that after I bought the car that I left my garage opener and some keys in my trade. I called a left messages, but no one ever called me back. I had to just show up and the dealership to get anything done. I also told them I had a minor issue with some light bulbs burned out in the dash of the Pilot. This was 2 days after the deal, and mind you they said they were done spending anymore money in "that Pilot". Good service after the buy? Save your money.... Go somewhere else. read more
