There aren't a lot of shady spots. This park isn't the type with lots of picnic tables, benches and pavilions. It's centered mainly around kid play and the kids definitely enjoyed it. In addition to a regular swing set and the set for babies and toddlers they also have swings designed for children with special needs in 2 sizes up to 12 years old. That's pretty wonderful.

The walking path is made of concrete and there isn't any large trees. My wife had been there before and said that the creek or ditch appeared filled in. There was some seating that was covered and I noticed quite a few BBQ pits as well. I liked the quantity of picnic tables. It is a good track but not much to see so I enjoyed talking w my wife. Unlike other parks this trail had little to no incline and was easy to walk since it was concrete. That is helpful since I am still recovering from surgery. I would recommend this walking path for people who are perhaps a bit unsteady on their feet like me w surgery or other reasons possibly. The only complaint I might have is the lack of larger trees and that means during summer it would be wise if me to go in earlier or later hours. All in all good park. They have portable potties not permanent ones if that makes a difference to ya!!!

BEST shelter and park we have been to yet. We are extremely impressed! We rented shelter #5, it overlooks the lake and is across the way from the bathrooms, huge plus (I love camping, but don't hover well haha). The restrooms were so so, nothing special, but better than peeing behind a tree. Same goes for the showers, nothing special, but I loved that they were private, offered hot water, and had a little sink in the stall. The shelter itself was amazing! We have never been to a park where the shelters have tarps to cover the screened areas. You can tie them up or lock them down, perfect for privacy or blocking out the wind on cold nights. We also brought a lock to lock the shelter while we were away, but with multiple gates to get to the shelters we felt very safe. We came in late and left early, so we unfortunately did not get a chance to interact with the park host or other employees. But they were very friendly and helpful when I called asking for information. Overall I am very impressed, I don't think I can express that any more clearly. We will definitely be back and are already looking at our calendar! We need to get our canoe out here!

There are good restroom facilities in this park a big covered area and fair amount of benches and…read moreplayground equipment but the park itself is rather small. It is located right off highway 84 at Poage road. The trail is made of cinder and about .33 of a mile. There is a slight incline and decline. In comparison to the hewitt park nearby I like that boy have a circle track and you have an idea of how far the circle track is. However recovering from surgery I like the hewitt park a little better as the concrete trail helps my legs remain steady as I recover from surgery. I cannot afford a fall. One thing originally I liked better about poage park was that the circle was half the distance and there were many benches to sit on till I got my endurance up. This park also has a small gazebo. I like this park an am happy w the restroom facilities I just wish things were a bit more spread out but the park is a bit too small for that. It I a great park for me though as I continue to recover from surgery.

The bridge spans 475-feet, and at one point, was considered the longest single-span suspension bridge west of the Mississippi. The Waco Suspension Bridge is majestic, yet aesthetically pleasing. It now serves as a pedestrian crossing. When you walk out on the bridge, it is peaceful, quiet and serene. Listening to the water meander under the bridge almost puts you in a trance. In addition to the bridge, the steers in the front of the bridge are being renovating...painted and sealed with hot wax.
