First time trying this place. Very few places to eat in this town. I ordered the same thing three times this week and it got more and more un appealing and unappetizing. Today the third time I did not eat it as it was just that bad. Front counter people are nice and helpful. Have never had bad meal at any mcallister's location. There's a bit of a wait after placing the order so don't expect it to be fast food. Well worth the wait though. The veggie sandwich is really good but they could use some more plant based options. The overall vibe is about like panera and quality is comparable as well. Prices are better though. I ordered a grilled chicken club and they brought me a McAllister club which is very similar I admit so I thought maybe they knew better for me today. Well, I learned my selection was superior so at least I know that now. Broccoli cheese soup was on point as usual. The girl running the register seemed bored or indifferent to being there. Part of me wonders if she wasn't listening when I ordered and that's how i ended up with the wrong sandwich. I only came here because it was smack next to my hotel while on biz travel and dinner was much needed. I came in and scoured the massive menu and could tell this was gonna be good on that alone. The staff there were really cool as well. Very tentative, kind, talkative and engaged with customers. My biggest struggle here was deciding what the heck to get! I wanted to soup, a sando, a spud and a salad, such first world problems right? I went with spud, soup and salad and even then you can pick and choose as you please to make it just how ya want it. Got the spud veggie style with added chicken minus cheese Got the roasted veggie soup cause whats salad without soup? Got the southwest cobb salad minus cheese and tortilla strips All 3 for take out and when I got home it was Josh smash food time! And smash I did. Topped my spud and salad with the hot soup and it worked really well actually. Food items were delicious, wholesome, nutritious and simple. The portions are very generous, the prices are fair and the service is accurate and quick. I do not know how I never thought to give this chain a shot before this one!? McAlister's Deli is my #1 place to go for a quick, friendly drive thru. The food is always delicious, my favorite is "the Italian", but even if I'm not hungry, I'm always thirsty. I drive through every day for my iced tea. Yes, I can make tea at home, but it never tates as good and I'd miss seeing my friends at the window. You can't beat the fast, friendly service and delicious menu anywhere. read more

let me start by saying I really like Mccalisters Deli. I have been to several. and the one in Warren Ohio sets the bar for customer service. They are outstanding! Now let's talk about Macomb Illinois. Avoid this place. We walked in, the girl that took our order was new, no big deal. We got through the order. Worst part was her wiping the snot from her nose and wiping it on her pants. Then we ate outside. An employee was cleaning up a pile of puke. I will sit over there thanks. It happens. Food came out and we ate. Food seemed fine. I brought plates back inside(Warren Ohio did this for me and asked if they could get me anything including a refill of sweet tea). When I got to the counter with the plates, all three employees turned around and disappeared. Ok. on the way out I used the restroom. Door was locked so I waited. Heard the toilet flush and person immediately came out. It was the manager, and no he did not wash his hands. Patiently waiting to see if I throw up. If you have time, go to Warren Ohio. I need a menu! Maybe my 4th time, and every time I would give it 3 stars. I don't get it, I guess. My sandwich was supposed to be toasted - bottom bread still cold, and the meat just piled up in the middle. The meat was roast beef and 1/2 my bites had fat or grizzle. I have fallen in love with Mcalisters recently. I had the Cobb salad which was huge and very tasty. The honey mustard dressing is the best I have ever had. Back again, and still have yet to receive a correct order. My order this time was simple...club sandwich (no tomato), chips, lemonade, and cookies. They completely forgot my chips and upon inspection of my sandwich, it appears that it had originally been made with tomato and then had the tomato picked off. I could tell because there were tomato seeds and residue all over part of the sandwich. Luckily I'm not allergic, or there'd be bigger problems. These people really try hard to provide fresh food and good service and it really shows. It's a chain restaurant but it seems more personable. It's hard to have a decent lunch for under $10 these days but by ordering at the counter you can save on a tip I guess since so many different people deliver your food and get refils. I encountered at least 4 different employees during my quick lunch. Had the corned beef on rye with chips and a side salad and water and it was over $14. Not cheap but very good. Went to eat in late this afternoon, the coleslaw was horrible, my corned beef (they were out of pastrami) was piled high, but my wife's roast beef was so thin you has to hunt for the meat. The manager Brianna is very very nice and courteous! I honestly I haven't talked to a manager for that long AFTER MY MEAL! She's so sweet and tiny and full of hardwork! I know just based on how she brought our food out and asked ever question in the book! She even came back with refills, more flavor shots for the kids to try! She was even working alone and with another nice girl in the front. Even though she was the only one controlling everything she did everything AWESOMELY! I recommend to go back and tip her! I was taken to lunch as a birthday treat. Very disappointed ! At 1p.m. parking lot was packed although there were lots of empty seats. Tables crammed too close. No handicapped access table. I ordered the orange cranberry club sandwich - the bread was stale, meat and tomato slices were paper thin, cranberry relish barely noticeable. The side dish Mac and cheese was very small and bland.
