Attached to the Hy-Vee is a separate liquor store that has a large selection of beer, wine, and alcohol. They have a great selection of whiskey (don't forget to look behind the counter for the "rare" stuff) as well as craft beer. Not living in Illinois, it is always fun to try the local beer/cider by "building your own" six pack. The employees working here are always welcoming. On this particular visit someone had dropped a six pack of beer so they were busy cleaning up while also going out of their way to be friendly and helpful. read more

(Gifting and Floral dept.)If I could give zero stars I would. I was unable to attend an event today so at 9am I ordered flowers to be sent between 1-2pm. Around 1:45 I get a message that my dasher is on the way to the store to pick it up. I then get a call from my dasher saying they are at the store and they're saying that the order was picked up and delivered about an hour ago. I had no notice of this and the flowers had not yet been delivered. I called the store and the worker said they were picked up and there must've been an error through door dash but to check with the person they were sent to because they should be there. I hang up to do so and suddenly my order on door dash is cancelled at 1:57 (the flower dept. closing at 2) so I have no one to contact on DoorDash and the manager said if there were any issues to call back and he'll sort it out. I call back not 2 minutes after that conversation and the person that answers tells me the floral department is closed and they all left. So allegedly these flowers were made and delivered by someone, except they weren't, and then my order was cancelled and no one was able to talk to me. Very disappointed in both Hy-Vee Floral and DoorDash. Instead of making sure the problem was resolved they said oh well and left. read more

When I walk in the door of this Hy-Vee I immediately have a feeling of being welcomed. I can honestly say I have never been in a store where the employees are so friendly and helpful. Every single employee is polite and friendly almost like they know you on a personal basis. The store is extremely clean and inviting, everything is arranged in a way where it is easy to find. If you do have trouble finding something, one of their wonderful employees will walk you right to the item. I would never think of getting my groceries anywhere else. Made two stops at Hy-Vee in Macomb Illinois one was at the grocery store it fairly reasonable service was great plenty of cashier was open they was busy but very courteous and fast. My second stop was at the filling station across from the store got a bag of ice good size bag for the same price of smaller bags at another place .also got gas didn't use no rewards card and paid about four cents more but that was OK and they was courteous and friendly inside there were convenience store I do recommend stopping in several types of gas with ethanol without ethanol and premium E 85 so if you need gas get it there read more

Chinese food is awful I tried it three different times and each time left me feeling sick. I remember hy-chi being so good years ago so something must have changed. It's slimy and flavorless now and there aren't even onions in the fried rice. Way too expensive for food and ruins your appetite after one bite. Absolutely the worst grocery store I've shopped at. Being stuck in the middle of nowhere there's a few options for grocery shopping. Make sure to check the expiration dates on everything you purchase. I have bought items without checking and a day or two later they're expired. Most other grocery stores reduce the prices on items that are expire within a few day yet this place just keeps it on the shelf and doesn't reduce the price. Dont waste your time or money; Aldis and Wal-Mart are a better options. read more

Disappointing experience with grocery pickup. I understand things happen and I'm not quick to complain. I've had several grocery orders with broken eggs and expired milk from Hyvee in macomb. The tipping point is when I purchased a cut of meat for 18 dollars and it had the recommended date of use as the same day I picked up order. Not knowing this right away I Assumed it was fresh and placed it in the fridge to use later in the week. Then to find out it smelled bad upon opening. My husband called hyvee to mention this incident, the manager said he was busy and would call to discuss which never happened... read more

Service doesn't get much better than this. Our local Hyvee has such a great team! From the deli staff to the butchers, they are all readily available and willing to help. I LOVE the fresh fruit program for the kids, it's accessible and easy (shopping with kids? Don't worry-they will show you!). They always have what I need, and on the rare occasion that they don't, they are ready and willing to do special orders to accommodate! If all that isn't enough for you, just wait until you get to checkout...where you WON'T have to wait! Hyvee Macomb keeps the lines moving right along even during the busiest times. I never see them more than two or three deep because they will promptly open a new lane. Using coupons at checkout? Macomb Hyvee is coupon friendly and will NOT hold up your checkout. If they are in store coupons they will often have them ready for use at the register. Thank you Macomb Hyvee, for ALWAYS taking steps to go above and beyond! read more

As a diner owner, I take where I get my meat from seriously. hy-Vee always goes above and beyond at the Meat department for my incessant requests and orders all day. My customers come first, and I trust only a couple of places with their safety and satisfaction and hyvee is where I get 98% of my special cuts. Always available, always friendly, I can call in before arriving and they will have it done by the time I reach the counter. Besides all of the staples I can buy on the fly there, the entire staff is always on point and ready to help me all day and night. This is truly the only place I like to shop for me or my diner. read more

Love it!!! Love the salad bar and anything made by Chef Tim. I will definitely be looking for your crab cakes in the future. Delicious!! Recently went on a Tuesday and they had a Taco bar set up in the soup and salad bar. YUM!!!! Taco meat, cheeses, tomatoes, onions, olives, guacamole, sour cream, tortillas, chips etc... Heaven!!! Great employees. They always smile and say "Hello" and offer to help. I can't really say enough good things about it. Happy that we are fortunate enough to have this store in Macomb!!! Now when friends and family visit from Chicago they have a Starbucks to go to, always been a huge issue in our family trying to find good coffee in Macomb, lol. Someone needs to teach the cook how to scramble an egg. I had a egg/cheese biscuit. The egg was overcooked, brown and greasy. The biscuit was dry and the cheese didn't even begin to melt. I wish I hadn't eaten it, but we had someone sit down with us at the table and I didn't want to appear difficult. I should have sent it back, but I am thinking that the cook just didn't know how to cook an egg so the second one would've looked the same. Teach the cooks, please. read more
