For those of you who prefer more details, read on. From my initial contact with the office, I found the staff to be so accommodating: my questions were answered, my appointment booked, including the questions I had regarding insurance matters. When I arrived on the morning of my appointment, it turned out that I was having an emergency with an elderly family member and needed to leave before being seen. I was pretty shaken up, but the kindness shown to me by the staff in reassuring me and then rebooking my appointment for the next afternoon went so far in supporting me as I rushed off. I cannot say enough good things about the high level of caring from the front desk staff! At my appointment the next day, before seeing the doctor, I was seen by two assistants who completed parts of the exam. Again, I was struck by how personable and knowledgeable they were, answering my questions and performing the tests in a way that enabled me to feel in control. (I'm sure anyone who has had the "flipping lens" eye test can relate. For example, David was patient, making sure that I had enough time to be sure which lens was the best choice.) I then met Dr. Goldfarb. Simply put, especially in these days of managed care, Dr. Goldfarb stands out. Not only does he have a vast knowledge base (including his appointments at top hospitals including Mount Sinai in NYC), but he is kind and patient, and he really listens. He was so thorough, looking to piece together what in my medical history might be causing the symptoms I am experiencing. I left feeling heard and with a plan to implement for the next six months.
