Their assistants Debbie and Nicholas are also great and will constantly push you and give sound advice. There is a friendly family atmosphere for the most part, but these guys know when to get serious, command respect from all students, and push the physical limits of the class. Like Kristen B. noted, the first class is free for any martial art you want to try out, and you can try them all. For newbies, there's a pretty mixed crowd in the beginner and intermediate Muay Thai classes. I'd say about 35-40% of the class is female, and the age spread is very wide from age 10 to people in their 40s. Many of the advanced and intermediate level students go to the beginner classes to brush up on their basics, and it gives the new students some experienced partners to help them progress. Most of all, EVERYONE is just really chill. If there's anything that might need improvement, the gym itself could use a water fountain and an interior refresh here and there. At least they sell cold beverages and bottled water for relatively cheap. Other than that, it's a pretty good size gym with a full-size ring, weight-training area, a big class mat area, and a heavybag area. You can also order your equipment through them. Test yourself and feed that inner beast. It's great fun and being with good people makes it even more worthwhile!

After a few months, I am still a fan of what they are doing here…read more I'm averaging about 2 classes per week, I've misses a week here and there. I've only taken the "Boxing Conditioning" and "Kick Boxing Conditioning" classes. I will reiterate from my original review, i'm not looking to learn a fighting discipline. I'm only here for exercise purposes. Boxing and Kickboxing principles are "lightly applied" by the instructors during the workout. As an example, i have a better understanding of how to "knee strike or throw a knee" into the heavy bag, I have a better understanding of how to throw a jab vs a cross vs an uppercut vs a hook vs an elbow into a heavy bag. So yes, I have learned some level of "Technique", but not to the point in which I could engage in actual combat. They are workout / conditioning classes, not to be confused with fight training. I say this not as a criticism, if you are looking for a great workout but are concerned about the boxing or kickboxing theme (like I was), don't be. TRX has been incorporated into a few of the classes i've attended, which i've enjoyed. They offer classes with TRX as more of a focus, these classes are called "MATRX". I've not taken a MATRX class, they seem to be less frequently offered. I'm confident the MATRX classes are great as well! They also offer a "UFC FIT" class that looks like a boot camp type class that doesn't incorporate boxing or kickboxing. I've not done a UFC FIT class yet, but they look like a good workout. I've been in classes with as few as 3 people and as many as 15. I've been the oldest and the youngest in the class, i'm 42. I've attended classes with 10 year olds and classes with Grand mothers. Everyone can get a workout in here. The instructors are good. They have done a good job, in my opinion, of recognizing those who need more attention in classes and those who are self sufficient. They have a modification for everything if you are uncomfortable or unable to perform an exercise. But most importantly, if you are reaching "your limit" all you have to do is STOP. You can STOP at any point during the class, catch your breath, take a drink (PSA: always brink a large bottle of water with you to class, you sweat a ton during class) and then jump back in when you are ready. You stopping at any point does not disrupt the class. At any point during the class if you are lost or confused, simply asking the instructor and they can get you back on track. They will leave you to yourself once they've seen you there a few times and don't appear to be struggling. I really like their level of attention, just right! The classes i've taken are a full hour and seem to fly by. Most of the instructors are not afraid to crank up the music and keep the tempo going, without be annoying or jerks about it. I've noticed a few of the competing workout programs in the area offer a number of their classes in a 45 minute format. I need the extra 15 minutes of exercise. UFC Orland also seems to offer more week night and weekend time slots as compared to other programs. I'm really happy with what i'm getting for my time and money at UFC Orland!

They are always so helpful and great communication. I'll definitely recommend this place for boxing.read more
