After two shoulder surgeries and being retired in December of 2021 decided to finally get back to my fitness regimen. Being a United HealthCare AARP member and getting my membership paid for by them decided to join without taking a tour of the club. After joining other than having Alfie as my fitness gurus who is in the process of getting me back in working order - very dissatisfied at the state of this club. Pads on machines are worn and could be easily replaced, men's bathroom/locker room is deplorable. I don't think it has been cleaned since I left charter. Smells, sewer flies all around, the mats in front of the showers haven't been picked up and cleaned 'most likely for years'. The ADA shower has the bench chained to the wall - for a older person or disabled person who would have to use it is impossible. The bathroom is a a mess - totally disgusting. The shower curtains are the same ones that were up when it was Charter Fitness years ago. Put something on top of the lockers and it was filled with dust and items left by members which was never removed or cleaned - locker are a mess inside - need to be cleaned. Totally disappointed in this club and would not recommend to anyone and would not rejoin - I only hope I am able to train with Alfie to continue regaining my fitness goals . Why spend the money to put in a useless sauna (one person fills it, two is a joke and three forget it) when the money could have been spent on cleaning and revamping the locker room so that it is sanitary - try paint and a thorough cleaning. Just to note: If you expect future members to join - forget about useless saunas and make your main concern cleanliness, general maintenance of equipment. Membership next year to this club is doubtful unless there are some major changes. Get rid of the infestation OF SEWER FLIES IN THE Men's BATHROOM and finally give it good scrub down, remove/replace the mats in front of the showers, so that a person can use without being infected by some bacteria. Totally disappointed in the state and cleanliness of this club - I hope that this review will change the manner in which this club is kept clean and maintained. If not, I will not rejoin and for prospective folks interested all up to you. But if remains in the manner in which it is I will not be back. Take a tour I wish I had - just remembered it when it was Charter Fitness years ago and the club was kept up.

I saw they have a nice basketball court so the following day I decided to ask my boys to bring a basketball to play basketball while we waited for the past to be done for my other son. A lady approached my kids and told them they could not play basketball because they needed to pay. She told me the same thing I thought paying for the class for my other child was enough and the kids were just harmless playing basketball and the lady got mad at the kids I guess they are really money hungry institution the following day I came and just had my Kids color because playing sports while we waited for the class to be over was off-limits such a disappointing experience.

Although this gym has generally intelligent gym clientele, there are some classic negative gym archetypes like "clueless teen," "hardo," and "girl who has way too much make-up / perfume to be inside of a gym." For me, if the average of gym-goers commit gym sins like not allowing others to work-in, taking up multiple pieces of equipment, lateral raises in front of the rack, etc., the overall score of the gym takes a hit. Mixed bag, but still above average.

I have been working out each week 4-5 times and really enjoying the variety of workouts each time. I love that every day the workouts change. The Coaches are all amazing. Super helpful, patient, and motivating. I love the atmosphere and always feel amazing after the workout is completed. Sometimes my lower back hurts just laying on the ground so her class gave me support in a way with the props so I can really relax my body. I was greeted when I came in by Nancy. She gave me instructions on what props to bring in by the best of her memory since sometimes the instructor changes it up. I thought for a hot yoga studio. They did make sure to cool down the room very fast for restorative yoga. I've been at other hot yoga studios where the room was still hot like you were doing a hot yoga and I didn't want that sweat. I just really wanted the stretch. I'm definitely going to come back!

I attend the Zumba classes weekly- both Wednesdays and Fridays. They offer a drop-in rate so you can try it out and pay as you go if you're nervous about starting the class. Lyn is the best and always keeps your heart rate up during the hour, and even if she misses a step she is always back on beat and keeping the rhythm. Belly dance with Mavi is a lot of fun, towards the end she let us wear huge gypsy skirts to dance with and brought veils as well. The fitness center is small, but has everything you need. Haven't used the pool, but my niece and nephew loved it. Most days are open gym- so you can come in and play basketball or volleyball. A lot of people come just to walk or run the track. The staff is very friendly and willing to help with all problems. Lost my keys as I was coming in to Zumba, and one of the staff members had them waiting for me once class was over. Looking forward to starting Tai Chi class next week!

It seems to be primarily high school students which teach the classes, which is fine (particularly for the price); they have a very high student to teacher ratio, though the majority of the girls who are teachers spend nearly the entire half hour just kind of staring into space or chatting amongst themselves. They also have open swim on Fridays from 4-7pm which is (for non residents) $5 per child and $10 for adults.
