My husband wanted to do a couples massage but didn't want to pay an arm and a leg, and I found this spot - wow, it is sooo worth it! We booked a 90-minute couples massage for $190 total (excluding tip) and it came with cupping and hot stone. The couples room was pretty much a makeshift setup with curtains, so we could hear everything happening outside near the reception area - but that didn't bother me since the staff were very quiet when checking people in and I was just super zen and relaxed to even care. The massage itself was amazing! The space is clean, calming, and relaxing. Once you check in, they'll hand you a laminated chart where you can circle what areas you want targeted or avoided during your massage. This is the first massage place I've been to that does this, and I love their attention to detail in that regard. It's respectfully sensitive to people who may have invisible disabilities or injuries. This massage was heavenly. From someone who has a lot of tension in their neck and hips from working remotely, the masseuses here are godsends. I got the 60-minute deep tissue massage, and they timed their work really well. You lay on your back, and they start with light massaging over towels to warm up your body then go in with body oil, hot stones, and cupping. Then you'll flip around, and they massage your scalp and face. All of the tension in my body melted away. The overall facility and rooms are really clean. The individual massage rooms are on the smaller side but comfy. They're dimly lit, but you can still see where you're stepping and placing your items. I almost forgot my watch, and one of the lovely ladies working here brought it back out to me. Heads up that they give you a discount when you pay with cash. My 60-minute deep tissue massage was supposed to be $70 but ended up being $65 because I paid with cash instead of card. I recommended this place to my friends in the area, and they all love it as well. I hope to come back soon!

Bliss-LESS Spa I got…read morea YELP message about Bliss Spa's Grand Opening Special: $20 for a 60 min foot massage! It sounded TOO good to be true, so I decided to check BS's reviews. There was just one, which looked sketchy based on the content and the Yelper's profile. But, I forwarded the info to my gfs and we thought for the price it wouldn't hurt to try it out. I called on Sat 4/3 and was easily able to make an appt for three for Sun 4/4 at 3 PM. After our Xiao Long Bao fix nearby, my gfs and I headed to BS. BS has no signage but a yellow banner that says, "Grand Opening" with a lit-up Foot Massage sign. We had no expectations, but were pleasantly surprised when we walked in. BS is very clean and had leather coaches and a set-up of facial cream items which put us at ease that it was legit place. We opted for the $25 massage, which consisted of a 40 min foot massage, 15 min head massage, and 15 min shoulder/neck/back massage. Our appt time was 3 PM, but the actual massage didn't start until 3:20 PM. Here's a breakdown of the process. 1. We were escorted to a room with two leather recliners and were brought tea which was lukewarm, borderline cold. 2. Wendy, my masseuse brought a wooden bucket of water for my feet to soak in and walked off for 10-12 minutes. My gf and I found this odd as normally, they work on other parts of your body while your feet soak. 3. When Wendy returned, she dried off my feet and preceded with the foot massage which was painful, but felt good at some times. She kept on pressing on my big toe, which was painful and made me squirm. She told me to relax which is difficult when you are in pain. She spent most of the time massaging my toes and the arch of my foot. She used very fast strokes which made me more tense at times than relaxed. Also, she wore plastic gloves and didn't use enough lotion, so it felt like plastic rubbing against my skin the entire time. 4. After about 20 min or so, Wendy proceeded massaging my calves which was again painful because she was using the force from her thumb and pressing against my shins the entire time. 5. Wendy then reclined the coach and had me turn over for the head and back massage. She started with the head massage which felt like she was scratching my head as opposed to massaging it. This lasted for about 5 min or so. 6. She then transitioned to the neck/shoulder/back massage which was NOT relaxing. I felt like my back was being "waxed on" and "waxed off" and the pressure was very light (like a light pat). I found it weird b/s she had used a lot of force and pressure when she was working on my feet and calves. Also, the back massage wasn't consistent; i.e. she would pound the left side of my back and not the right side. AMBIANCE: BS is very clean and the rooms (6) are split in half by a partition. The rooms were freshly painted white and had grey carpet. The entire time, I could hear footsteps from above which we thought were the residents living above. However, when we left, we noticed there were no windows on the second level; ummm, so where exactly was that noise coming from? PRICES: *Introductory prices of $20 for 60 min foot massage, $25 for a 70 min foot/back massage, $35 for 60 min back massage and $30 for a facial which are good until 4/15. Prices are $10-15 higher after 4/15. OTHER SERVICES: BS also offers 4-5 different type of facials like for anti-aging, acne, and deep pore cleansing, and body waxing. PARKING: Since BS is located in the Outer Richmond, it's relatively easy street and metered parking. If it weren't for the price, I would have given BS 2 STARS b/c the massage was inconsistent in pressure and motions which left me more tensed than relaxed. But, I can't really complain much because sometimes you get exactly what you pay for.

I bought one of those groupon deals, and NO WHERE did it say it was only 30 minutes. But whatever, I'll let it slide. When we get there, I decide to make it an hour and she says sure, $20 more ... no problem; that's still a decent deal. The massage was not what I wanted. It was too hard and they never asked if I was okay or I wanted it softer. Here's the worse part, my mom had the same treatment and her back is (literally) black and blue. She is straight-up bruised. So NOT cool. Anyways ... when we were done, we paid and tipped them $10 each. All of the sudden the woman who did my mom's massage starts talking in Chinese. We couldn't really understand her, and the woman who massaged me translated saying, "She says she thinks you need to tip her more". .. Uh, WHAT THE HECK? Who asks for more tip!? Luckily we didn't have any more money. We told her sorry, I don't have any more cash and she says, "Don't worry, when you come back, you tip me more." We smile and leave. My mom and I turn to each other and say, YEAH RIGHT.

I want to give a lot of credit to Malika Briki for helping me to get rid of my dizziness. She is an amazing Massage Therapist! In just one session I got my balance back. Imagine, just one session! I don't know how she did it, but I know she is brilliant, and her kind healing hands helped me in one of the toughest periods in my life. I believe that whatever we experience in our life is part of life learning lesson. If you want to know more about what lesson I learned from having dizziness, read on... Two years ago I decided to find a new path in my life by starting a new career. I began searching what kind of career I want for myself and finally found something. I was excited and started to put a lot of time and energy to learn and achieve my goal. One day, walking through the park, I found a beautiful empty snail-shell. I had a voice in my head telling to take it and carry it as a "talisman". Six months later, I started to experience my first dizziness. It started mild in the morning only, and became severe after a while to the point it was affecting my work, and everyday life. It was a challenge to walk and find my balance. I needed support from my wife to help me walk. You can imagine how I felt... It was a terrible experience. I didn't want to go to doctors because I don't like to take drugs. So, I looked for alternative treatments, and tried several options, without any success. Six months went by and I was still suffering. And one day, I took my "talisman" out and looked at it to try to find a meaning to it and suddenly, I realized this snail-shell has been a warning sign for me. A snail is a very slow creature, so it was a hint for me to slow down. From that moment and for the first time since I started suffering from dizziness I felt relieved because I knew the healing would come. And sure enough, after one week I got Malika's phone number and scheduled an appointment with her. In one hour session Malika gave me a massage that really changed my life. I was profoundly affected by her ability to know exactly where to look and how to work. Thank you so much, Malika. May you be blessed with good health, success and joy in your life and help other people for many years to come. read more

I have known Malika for about 10 years now and she is an amazing person. I have lived in the UK for the past 6 and 1/2 years and whenever I am in SFO I run to Malika for a massage and have always walked away feeling rejuvenated. 2 Years ago I had an accident in the UK that left me with a spinal injury and I am now labelled as disabled. I went to a therapist in the UK and all she did was hurt me. To cut a long story short there are very few therapists that will even take my case and if they do they are very negative. I moved back to SFO this year and went to Malika. It was like walking out of the darkness into the light. Her home and massage room are so inviting calm and warm. The energy there is so positive and supportive this radiates out of Malika. Malika not only did not hurt me but in one session managed to do what no other therapist could she got my body to move. She is also the first person that was positive and set goals for me that I can achieve and will with her help. Malika works not on a time basis but a patients need, she does not only work on the body but on a person's energy and emotion. This is all linked together. I urge anyone who is looking for a massage therapist to contact her I know you will not regret it. read more

Malika is a very unique and excellent healer. I was very sad and giving up hope for getting any sort of help for my leg, especially my knee. The pain in my knee was making me very depressed and living was not a lot of fun anymore. My pain was becoming so unbearable that I had been absent at work, despite the fact that I had visited countless doctors to no avail. I was in pain for at least five years, and it was getting worse and worse everyday. One massage made a big difference in my whole body. Malika and her magical hands. What to say? There are magical, powerful and tender in the same time. I had my first massage with Malika five years ago and I still remember the well being, the kindness and compassion that I felt after having the massage. Malika has this extraordinary knowledge and intuition of knowing what to do for anything you are coming for. She can fix a tide muscle or give you an energy or healing massage the time of a session. She knows a variety of massage style and how to mix and play with them depending of your needs. Her "joie de vivre" shines in her wise eyes and contagious laugh. I always leave her space feeling so much peace and wholeness. I have been to many massage therapists in the past for TMJ (jaw pain), tension in my masseter muscles, neck, and back pain. Nothing compares to the bodywork she has provided. I am very grateful to have found her! Many friends whom I have referred also find her to be just as amazing! I have been to many different massage places to try to loosen up my knots and Madds is hands down the best masseuse I have ever had. Madds is very attuned to the specific needs of my body at that moment in time and seems to know exactly what to do (using different techniques) to work through my tension. I've had problems with rounded, hunched-forward shoulders for as long as I can remember and Madds has helped me a lot with opening up my chest. Not just through her bodywork (though I can always feel a measurable difference after seeing her), but she even went out of her way to suggest strategies I can do on my own to address the issue. Her prices are very reasonable and she is flexible about scheduling. She has a portable massage table so she can even come to you! I could not recommend Madds more highly. This is not your standard spa massage where the practitioners just go through their scheduled program on your body or where the masseuse doesn't seem to "get it" (too light or too heavy, not focused on the right areas). With Madds, you'll get a massage that is customized for your body and your needs, and you'll walk out feeling more relaxed, loose, and open than you ever thought possible!
