I was outright lied to! I purchased a new $120.000 pickup truck from Massey Chevrolet that did not have an owners manual in the glove box. Update (9/15/2025): I had to bring my son's car back because there was still a loud noise coming from the right passengers side engine compartment. The car was resigned at a discounted fee since I had just brought the car in recent for what I thought was the same problem. This time was diagnosed as the wiring harness that connected to the MAF sensor which would cost ~$1,300 to replace. It took a few days to get the part and was installed the next day after receipt of the part. Took it for a quick drive and the same sound persisted. Sounded like a plane taking off, the fast I drive, the louder the sound. I thought it was the radiator fan, so I took the car back the following week to have it looked at again. Paul did not charge me a diagnostic fee this time. Upon further diagnostics, it was found that the right front passenger wheel hub was loose and needed replacement which cost another ~$500. The problem was finally fixed this time. I am still skeptical about the $1,300 to replace the MAF sensor wiring harness as it didn't fix the problem that I brought the car in for (ended up being the wheel hub) , but supposedly the car did throw the code. Overall, the problem was fixed and Paul did try to make everything right. read more

Most dealers only treat you well when you are "on the hook" The lengths that Mazzei Chevrolet went to try and win my business was commendable. My credit situation is bleak to say the least. I thought I had a co-signer and that person backed out. They managed to work my down payment down to $2k and then even $1k but I balked at the interest rate. Again, through no fault of their own they did an amazing job. We closed a deal on a used, great condition RAV4 with Ron Kaell, yesterday! Ron took us on from Jonathan K, who was out when we planned to return to follow up on a test drive from the previous weekend. Without missing a step, Ron got us right back on track and even allowed us to take the car on a no-time-limit test drive. "Take it on the highway, drive it around town, get some lunch, really try it out and get the feel for it. Do whatever you need to do". That right there had our guards down and made us feel totally reassured about purchasing used from Ron and Mazzei. Over the course of several hours, we were able to test drive thoroughly and really get to check out the car. The Mazzei products speak for themselves! Great quality, great condition. After the test, the last thing to cross of the list was an inspection by a local mechanic. This was met with no resistance at all. In fact, Ron encouraged it to help show to us that Mazzei only puts safe to drive, trustworthy cars on their lot! Passed the inspection with flying colors. Allowing us the peace of mind to fully check out the car from top to bottom and inside out was something I personally haven't experienced with a dealership. Everything above board and never felt misled or deceived. Then we got to the numbers and Ron and crew worked with us to achieve our target end price, helped us secure a fantastic APR (given the current climate) and got us on the way with smiles on our faces and reassurance in our minds. DO NOT COME HERE!!! They wasted our time (5+ hours), gas, and bridge toll. They are liars and BS'ers! Ron and Melissa misled us by giving us an approval over the phone. We advised there was a trade in with a roll over balance by telling us we were good to go. But when we got there; they told us they did not get an approval with a trade in because "they were not aware". Then to add the trade in, they were going to lower the trade in value by $3000 because I didn't have the smog done yet AND I had to put in $6000 more then I told them I was going to do in order for the approval to go through. read more

Mazzei was wonderful to work with -- courteous, warm, straightforward -- sort of what you HOPE you find when you hear the term "family-owned business." What I appreciated most was that there was no upselling or pushiness or phoniness of any kind. I'm the kind of person who only ever buys cheap, base models -- the kind that dealers don't make much profit on, so I'm used to getting the bait and switch ("turns out we don't have that car, but we do have this higher trim model!"), or being aggressively urged to buy things like extended warranties. I always feel exhausted by the end, like I had to fight to get the car I wanted. Not so with Mazzei. They had the car I asked about, an Equinox EV LT1; they reserved it for me while I made the 2-hour drive from San Jose; and they didn't try to sell me on the higher trims, even though they had several in stock. Props here to our sales rep, my man Mike Wallace -- this guy is a different sort of salesperson. You can tell he loves his job -- that he really enjoys helping people get into the car they want! He's also a car savant -- especially an EV savant. I mean a scholar -- we spent ten minutes in the breakroom while financing was running paperwork discussing the finer points of battery chemistries in EVs versus personal electronics (or rather, he did -- I listened :) ). Anyway, he's an eminently likeable, loveable, knowledgeable guy, the kind you'd want to hang out with for a few hours -- which you will end up doing, since buying a car takes about that long. I could say a lot more about these people -- how they cheerfully put up with the two grubbiest kids in the Bay Area (our 5 and 2 year old) running rampant around the dealership for three hours, how they patiently hunted for every possible incentive and rebate, even AFTER we told them we wanted the car and were happy with the price, how Mike followed up the day after for no other reason than to see if I had any questions about the car's features. Would never come here to service your vehicle. My husband was quoted $250 for a new key fob. Which we agreed to. We were not told about an additional hour of labor changes for a new key fob. So on top of the $250 it was an additional $280 for labor for a new key to be made. We were then charged $150 dollars to "diagnose" a broken window regulator even though we knew it was the regulator before we came. We paid $530 total for a new key fob which is the biggest rip off, besides that he did not tell us about the labor cost. If we knew we wouldn't have gone through with it. There was no verbal communication about all of these costs, my husband was told to sign a paper and he did because he was in a hurry (big mistake) When I told this to the man in the service department he just looked smug and smiled and we paid and left. $700 total for a window that is still broken and a new key. Extremely disappointing reaction from the staff, and was not handled with grace. Go anywhere else but here. read more
