But as the evening went on, more people slowly wandered in and the atmosphere picked up. The drinks were fantastic: huge, strong, colorful, and dangerously fun. Exactly what you want from a tiki bar. The bartenders were incredibly sweet too. They answered all our questions, made recommendations based on what we actually like, and clearly knew their menu well. Always appreciate bartenders who don't just point randomly and say "this one." The decor and vibe were awesome -- dark, tropical, quirky, and full-on escapism. Felt like stepping into a hidden island bar in the middle of Paris. Only thing that threw us a little? The music. At several points it sounded less "tropical tiki escape" and more "waiting 45 minutes for Space Mountain at Disney World." Not bad exactly... just unexpectedly wholesome for drinks strong enough to make you text your high school friends at midnight. Overall though, we absolutely loved it and would 100% go back. It consists of chestnut, butter, wakaze umeshu, avallen Calvados.
