Stopped in on the return end of a roadtrip. We were looking for something quick that we didn't have elsewhere. Saw May's was a chain in the PA area so we decided to check it out! The three stars doesn't mean it was bad! Just that it was... okay! Nothing to write home about. Solid drive-in style food with classics like burgers, fish sandwiches, etc. Affordable! Casual vibe. The staff were all kind and helpful. Everything was made fresh. If you're already in the area and looking for something cheap that'll hit the basics, then it would be worth stopping by. But I don't think we'll be going out of our way to come back the next time we're driving through. read more

Great drive-in just outside of Lewisburg. Cheap, delicious food. Simple menu of basically items, nothing fancy. They accept cash & credit cards, but not checks. Personally, I think the other critical reviews are puzzling. It's worth a visit if youre in the area. read more

Meh. This looked like an old-school, greasy-burger joint. I went in expecting decent portion and the kind of greasy deliciousness that would draw a scolding from my physician. It was disappointing. I ordered the meatball hoagie basket. Don't know how typical it was for the fare, but it was overwhelmingly underwhelming. The hoagie bun, nicely toasted, was barely bigger than a generic bargain hot dog bun. It absolutely dwarfed the three infinitesimal meatballs, well-coated with what I guess was an also-generic tomato sauce from a can or maybe a basic store-brand jar of spaghetti sauce. There was a light dusting of parmesan. The fries made it a basket - ordinary, from a bag, frozen krinkle-cut fries that might bring a smile to your face if you have nostalgia for school lunch burger day. The strawberry shake was excellent, and carried the load for earning the stars on this review. Service was fast, polite and friendly. read more

Nice day on February 14, 2022: My husband and I ate our supper at May's on 405 Milton. It was a good experience from the front store welcome whose voice was heard from the kitchen area the gal, taking the order(very friendly) to the table service and the food, It was hot, very tasty and served with a smile. We ended our meal with a sundae, what a treat it was. [ there was a man who saw our sundaes and we chatted a bit and he said it was his first time there, relocated recently to the area, and ordered a sundae as well ! This particular night the tables were almost full inside and people were sitting outside, some even went to the take out window and ordered and ate in their car. Good business news ! This is the second Sunday in a row we've been in the Lewisburg/Milton area and lunch options are limited. However, this is the second week in a row we've left happy. This week's choice was May's Drive-in. The view of the river from the dining room is beautiful. The inside is what you'd expect from a burger and soft serve place that's obviously been her a while. I also give props to the staff. They are also exactly what you would expect from this type of place - friendly and outgoing. Now for the food. Here's where Mays fell. I had the fried fish sandwich. It was okay. My wife had the burger and the best thing she could say is that we've been having "gourmet" type burgers lately and a fast-food burger once in a while is good. Not a glowing recommendation. We shared a coffee shake that was a little on the bland side. All in all, Mays may not be fantastic food, but it's a friendly place with good food and a nice view. read more

My sister waited over ten minutes at the inside window to be waited on after several others in our group had been served. There was no acknowledgement of her wait or apology. There were ten others waiting behind her. She finally stormed out. I asked to see the manager and the one who seemed to be in charge walked over. I told him what had happened. He did not apologize .He did not explain that they were extremely busy with the outside windows. He simpley turned his back and walked away with out one word. No one jn my party will ever set foot in there again. The rating would have been no stars if the ice cream had not be ok. The customer service sucked.I wonder if any of Mays employees have been trained in customer service. read more

Have driven by May's for years and wish after eating there that I had put the pedal to the metal and sped by! Awful food which was barely edible. Things seemed "sticky" to me. They were busy and locals seemed to know one another, but we surely will not stop again! read more

May's is a basic Sandwich and Ice Cream stand with a dining room. They also have a full service breakfast. Lunch and dinner you order at a counter and they are brought to you. I just had the 1/4 lb cheeseburger "basket" (includes fries). A nice, good tasting burger without "special sauce". There is a bar with condiments, pickle slices, lettuce, etc. Then I had a nice cream sundae; plenty large for the money but not the best I've had...again basic good food but not exceptional. But I didn't expect exceptional...just a quick pleasant meal. And that's what I received. read more

I'm not sure how this place got 4 stars. It is an absolute mess. This was our second visit here, so we knew what to expect. There is one register for the whole place, so those taking orders at the window use the same register. I watched two people pulling money out of the register at the exact same time. How are their drawers accurate. They need to assign people spots because every worker took a turn taking orders, and then when another person brought it out they had no idea who it went to...even though they hand out numbers. It's quite disturbing that they take orders, cash and then serve food/Ice cream without washing their hands. They were out of most of the condiments and toppings at the self serve bar. They need a better option for getting ketchup and mustard. Spooning it into a tiny little cup is messy. There is no leadership. There was a manager, but she seemed just as confused as everyone else. The place is so disorganized that it makes me shudder. Food isn't bad, but you have to get past waiting in a long line because now no one is watching the food ordering counter, because two people are now taking ice cream orders. Oh and ice cream...I ordered a cookie dough stormer. The cookie dough was mushy and gross. I heard the one kid tell the manager it was soft and she said that it was fine and to serve it. She told him to put it in the walk in cooler when he was done. It was absolutely disgusting but I didn't even want to speak with the manager about it. I just wanted to run out of there as fast as I could. Next time we will go somewhere else. read more

Great peanut butter fudge sundae! Only $3.50 for a large amount of ice cream. Location is beautiful. Right on a river, so there's breathtaking scenery if you choose to sit outside. read more

So, I grew up eating here (and worked at the sister restaurant The Fence Drive-In just down the road during high school and college many years ago) and I know the ownership has changed over the years. Have been here several times over the past year when I'm in town, and made the mistake of eating inside the restaurant once; it smells bad and I will not do so again. I recommend only getting take out or ice cream from the window. The hard ice cream is delicious (teaberry is my favorite), and food-wise the chicken fingers and pizza are decent and seem consistent from what I remember years ago, but some of the other stuff on the menu isn't that great. In short, an excellent ice cream stop when the weather's nice. I think this is also a cash-only spot, unless that has changed? read more

Food was horrible. Milkshakes were ok. Very dirty. You have to use a spoon to put ketchup in little containers if you want for fries. Very slow service. read more
