We…read morewalked into a deli/restaurant that was very quaintly decorated with the Polish flag, wooden carvings, decor and family photos that could have been from our own family. The hostess seated us near the fireplace on a very cold day and we enjoyed the warmth. The menu is very vast, from appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches and full dinners. The variety of pierogi is amazing! I chose the 4+4+4 platter that lets you choose a few of three different kinds of pierogi. I chose the potato and cheese, cabbage and the mushroom and cabbage ones. We were shown a dish going to a table next to us - a special - "Polish lasagna" - that we ordered. The soup of the day was pickle soup - and we each tried a bowl. It was a hearty broth with small pieces of pork, carrots and potatoes flavored with some dill, very tasty. We had enough to take home for the next two days for lunch or dinner. Even though we were advised that they only had one person cooking in the kitchen, our meals were served quickly. It was a very enjoyable experience that brought back memories of our Polish family Sunday gatherings from our youth.

U chose applesauce & I ordered a side of Kielbasa! Personally I would have ordered the Bleenies as a side instead of a meal! The Kielbasa was fantastic it's not locally made but it's less fatty and has a great taste! Of course the wife and I kinda shared our meals and we both found the changes very interesting and tasty! The server was very good pretty knowledgeable of the menu and meeting Kat was fantastic because I got to discuss some of her old world knowledge of foods from the Polish and Slavic regions! We're definitely coming back to try out some of Kat's other menu items!

Fully packed deli in a convenient location!…read more I'm always amazed at the number of Polish delis in the Poconos. A quick drive up 611 from Stroudsburg will let you pass 3 or 4 shops of various sizes. This deli sits in the junction of 611, 196, and 940, but is most easily accessed from 196 (Sullivan.) there are a few parking spots directly in front, but the best parking choice is in a lot on the north side of the building. The parking situation is the reason for this deli having only 4 stars. Once you've visited a few times it makes sense, but if you've reached Dunkin' Donuts you've gone too far. Once inside the deli you will most likely find all that you need. A freezer filled with pierogi sits to the right. Dairy goods are in a refrigerator on the left. The bakery case is directly ahead with some breads on a rack nearby. Meats and cheeses are in cases near the cash register, and are always brimming with options. There are only two aisles. One is bursting with sauces and condiments. (So much borscht! Even more sauerkraut!) Teas and cookies are hiding in the corner. Boxed juices are nearby. Make your selections quickly, because the second aisle is almost all chocolate. Good luck walking away with only a few, as these are big European chocolate bars for $1.50 each. You won't find these flavors outside of a specialized shop, and the workers will do their best to translate into English for you if necessary. My latest visit was on my way to an end of summer gathering. We bought a few pounds of meats and cheeses, a stack of chocolates, and two types of bread. Our party supplies cost under $50 and were a hit with all of the guests. The favorite (not counting the chocolates!) was the long thin sausages. We sliced them thin and ate them with the thick slices of sunflower bread. So filling without being heavy! The shop also does duty as a community touchstone. I enjoyed watching people exchange the news of the day in languages that I do not speak, and I noticed the listings for classes, childcare, and other things that help any group of people find one another. I'm happy to have found this Polish outpost in Mt. Pocono!

Our goal today was to buy some frozen pirogies to go, which are pre-cooked frozen fresh, ready to heat and eat pockets of stuffed doughy delights. They offer 12 frozen varieties, 10 of which were in stock while we visited. Workers were hard at work making additional pierogis on-site. 1, 2. Potato & Cheese; Potato & Cooper Cheese. (6/$5). 3-7. Cabbage; Sauerkraut; Cheesy Jalapeño; Blueberry; Dill Pickle (6/$6). 8-12. Steak & Cheese; Chicken Cheesesteak; Ham & Cheese; Hot Wing; and Mac & Cheese & Bacon. (6/$7.50). The cashier also mentioned that they were making some fresh ones with apples. You can also eat-in at a small number of tables, where you can feast on Polish foods (haluski, kielbasa, cabbage rolls, polish potato soup, potato pancakes, pierogis) OR pizza, strombolis, hoagies, chicken bites, or hot dogs. Service was great. Staff were attentive and friendly, and made sure we knew what was available, They packed our order quickly and we were on our way. They accept cash or credit cards.
