The indoor café has been CLOSED for over a year and nobody has made clear that there was nowhere you can drink a cup of coffee here. They do have a locker outside where you can pick up your order of beans. I'm not sure if all the merchandise is gone, don't believe that the Cafe survived Covid and then decided to close. I really miss being able to get a used coffee sack, even though they butcher it when they open it instead of cutting the strings that hold the top open. You can find their fresh-ground coffee beans at Costco and we just so happened to drive past this warehouse while in Rockville. While their coffee shop is not open all the time, I highly recommend getting in here while they are open. It's a very unique coffee shop, in that you can see inside the warehouse and the coffee bean process through the glass window that reflects inward. Each of us could probably recall examples of bad customer service, here's an example of superior customer service from Mayorga. Due to Covid, there is no on-premises enjoyment at this Mayorga facility. No retail, for example, but they have this high-tech awesome locker that dispenses your coffee order using a QR code they email to customers. I ordered coffee online via the Mayorga website, to be delivered via mail/UPS. When it arrived, I found that I had clicked the wrong button and ordered my coffee in whole bean form rather than the drip-ground I wanted. (Yes, I know, coffee aficionados prefer fresh ground every morning...). I called Mayorga customer service to arrange for me to drop off my errant bag and pick up a bag of ground coffee. The lovely representative (go Wendy!!) said that due to Covid, they are not taking back any coffee that leaves their facility. They will send me an email with a QR code so I can retrieve a new bag from their locker system. No charge. Give the bag of coffee to a friend or to a food bank, says Wendy. Wow! I was floored! I so appreciate good customer service, and appreciate businesses that serve their customers rather than figuring out ways to screw the customer (airlines, are you listening?). read more

The barista was very sweet and warmly greeted me, I asked her for a recommendation and she gave a good recommendation, although I do wish she had asked for what size coffee I wanted, and ended up getting a small one, but no harm done. Absolutely my favorite place to grab a cup of feel-so-good café! Martin Mayorga is doing well by doing good, and you know he's on the right track when you meet some of the employees and share in the fun that they're having while at work. The pour over limited-edition Winter Brew was dark and delicious and I had to sample their espresso as well - it was perfectly robust and balanced. I am no coffee connoisseur but I know what I like and man this stuff is good. This has everything you would ever want in a coffee shop, and it has the factory/warehouse right on site. They brew coffee three different ways, the V60 pour over method, the Chemex method, or French Press. The V60 is cheaper, Chemex most expensive. They also offer espresso and cold brew coffee, but the cold brew is not nitrogen based. That's because the coffee is organic. The baristas are conversational and more than happy to explain the various methods and styles of coffee, all of the beans come from Latin America. The best part of Mayorga Organics is their customer engagement! I love coffee and can never get enough of new cafes and new roasters. We were in Rockville for shopping and lunch, and we decided to drop by Mayorga for a pick-me-up. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Eduardo. He told us that he could make any pourover we wanted from the variety of beans they roast, and we took a couple of minutes to look at the shelves. I opted for their Honduras Capucas in a V60 pourover. This one has a medium roast profile with notes of maple, chocolate, and plum. In terms of brewing methods, Mayorga offers three kinds - V60 single, Chemex, or French Press. V60 is $3.50, French Press is $6, and Chemex is $7. In addition, they also offer espresso drinks and cold-brewed ice coffee (either as a pint or growler). Everything Mayorga related is organic. All organic ingredients. The baristas and staff are all incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their brewing methods and their bean varieties. Very community-oriented and more of a learning, educational experience. The roasting and distribution facility is located onsite, which is really neat because they host tours. Additionally, they have demos and roadshows around the area, mostly at Whole Foods and Costco. First thing, to be clear - this isn't a cafe, this is a literal coffee shop, as in they roast and sell and brew coffee. There's not much in the way of seating (one large table, and a long bench on one side), but there were several people chatting happily at the big table and some couches in the corner, and it's a little loud for working. So glad I found this place, thanks to my fellow yelpers! I was in desperate need of finding some coffee that brought me back to the island coffee shops, on a Sunday morning. I had seen the factory from the road, but I had no idea there was a coffee shop inside. I was greeted by Jill and Eduardo, who were both super friendly and helpful. I had a latte and it was absolutely perfect. Each cup of coffee is made right there for you, no pre-made pots of coffee sitting around. Jill also gave me a sample of their cold brew and it was delicious as well, so I bought a refillable bottle to take home (refills are only $5). I'll be returning to buy more coffee. I found this as I was driving to one of the entrances to Lake Frank. It's open to the public on Thursday, Friday and Saturdays. They sell coffee by the 12 oz bag and up. You can grind your coffee using one of their machines and reseal the bag using a second of their machines. They also have a limited number of coffee accessories such as insulated coffee mugs, some drip funnels, mugs, and surprisingly, filters for the newer Aeropress machine. I'm simply grateful and happy to know that there is a coffee roaster in the area. I've known of Mayorga for a while now. I dropped in at their old location, and again at their new location, but because I've had a subscription to my preferred coffee company, I never had to travel much to purchase coffee. Coffee is always on my doorstep once a month. Now that I started brewing cold brew at home, I've been going through my beans much faster than expected. Thats where going to Mayorga was a must today. It was a fantastic experience. Not to say my last two visits weren't. I had a cup of Cubano coffee brewed pour over. I was educated on the color wheel, the origins and the different flavors of those region's coffees. The best roast for those origins, and the brew methods. I was sincerely engaged as a friend and taught as an equal. Frequently when it comes to any aficionado, majority present as pompous snobby, arrogant know-it-alls. I'll concede. I've come off that way many times in the past, and I am nowhere near an aficionado in anything. Today was an awesome and enjoyable introduction to Mayorga Coffee and their way of doing business. Again, I'm thankful and appreciate the friendly environment and staff. I look forward to spending time at Mayorga and learning more about the many different aspects of coffee. I can't quite speak on the coffee yet, but then again, the flavors of coffee is relative to the flavor preferences of the consumer. I can say that Mayorga coffee is not over roasted. It is not stale or lacking in flavor. It isn't your off the shelf grocery brand coffee. I may not know from one cup of coffee what Mayorga as a whole offers, but I can say this. Mayorga has passion for the farmers, the coffee, and the end product. This passion tells me the coffee will be damned good. Burlap sacks. We were on the hunt for burlap sacks. No, we weren't about to kidnap someone...we wanted to make curtains. I know, I know. It sounds so bizarre, but believe me, this was one of my husband's more brilliant ideas. We've been conflicted about what to do with the home office. It was in desperate need of curtains, but we couldn't decide on a fabric/pattern/style. Suddenly, out of the blue, he shouts out "burlap coffee bags! Roman shade!" and we both started squealing like little girls at a Justin Bieber concert. Yes, this is what the lack of alcohol combined with homeownership has done to me. Fear, my children...fear. Obviously, we turned to the internet to find old coffee burlap sacks (generally $5 - $10 per bag), but we really wanted to see them in person before buying, when my husband remembered that there was the Mayorga roasting facility in the industrial complex off of Southlawn. We head over here on a Saturday, and the nice lady that was working the counter, offered us some free coffee, and when we mentioned burlap sacks, she took us into the factory side, and let us pick out as many as we wanted - free of charge! WOOHOO! We sorted through the bags, found about 8 of them (we'll probably only need 4, but I like backups), and bought a bag of actual roasted coffee (we felt silly not giving her *any* money).
