Mayday is a hut-sized attraction in the middle of River City Shopping Center. It's an eye-tease as you are moving through the area. This is the main reason I visited with both of my daughters. The ice cream flavors are less than traditional, so we spent a great deal of time sampling. The flavors are exact to the descriptions I landed on salted Carmel and Giselleppi Delight. They have an ice cream cone chip as a topping so I did not need a cone. This place is pricey for it to be ice cream. read more

I have become a true fan of Mayday Ice Cream. I have no clue how this was my first visit, but I had a craving for ice cream. I went to another place whose ice cream machine was down, so I just randomly stopped at Mayday. I was pleasantly greeted and introduced to all the delicious ice cream available. After trying a few choice, I decided on the parent trap which is a peanut butter based ice cream with Oreos in a waffle cones. This was delicious. It was so creamy but not overly sweet. I loved it. They also put sprinkles on top which just made it so much better for some reason. I will be coming back especially since I've learned that they sell pints of the ice cream. read more

YUM! Fresh, small batch ice cream! The perfect treat at the end of the night. So many unique flavors available, I was thrilled! I got the dark datil (dark chocolate ice cream with cacao nibs and datil pepper) as well as coffee with glazed doughnut bits. It was the perfect combination, the flavors played so well together. The service was fast and the lady serving us was very nice and efficient. We enjoyed our ice cream outside on their patio tables - it was an excellent evening. Mayday also has pints for sale in the fridges - I also saw they had both waffle and pretzel cones, very intrigued by the pretzel cones! Hope to try some different flavors soon! read more

Please try the Gillespie's Bourbon Pecan (if you're over 21). It was so delicious, with the slightest hint of Bourbon and rich pecans mixed throughout. The icecream was creamy, well-blended and amazing! All homemade. The blackberry earl grey has a lovely color and flavor profile, so light, with a great milk taste and blackberries running throughout. I already love Mayday Ice Cream so I was super excited to have this little spot near my new house. This location is tiny and so adorable. It's also just as good as the San Marco location. My go-to flavors include: Cookie Crush - classic Oreo done flawlessly! My favorite, if I had to pick. The Aviator - chocolate and Nutella ice cream with Biscoff cookies, oh so yummy. Amazing customer service. the two ladies working were extremely professional and friendly ! They have a lot of options to choose from and offer dampening. Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely little ice cream shop. Awesome service. The staff knows their products and was super helpful with recommendations. I tried a couple different flavors and it was so hard to decide as everything tasted so good. I ended up getting the Caramel Apple Pie. There's indoor and outdoor seating. I had planned to check out the Aloha waffle bar but it was packed so I walked over to this small glass storefront and decided to try Mayday instead. I'm so glad I did!!! Okay this is truly gourmet ice cream! It's rich and creamy and decadent. I consider myself an ice cream connoisseur and this might be the best I've ever had. I got the aviator flavor which is Nutella ice cream with biscoff cookies. The cookies were so perfect to balance the sweet Nutella flavor. On a late night I had a sweet tooth and this place definitely solved that craving. First time here and the staff took the time to answer all my questions as well as allowed me to sample the ones I was interested in. Cloud 9 was my flavor of choice on a waffle cone. Not too sweet at all. My s/o picked a flavor with bourbon in it. We both were impressed because we only eat dairy free and could stomach these with no problems. Artisan ice cream a few spots in FL and expanding! They got flavors for everyone in the family as well as dairy free options... they even have 21+ boozy ice cream for when the extended family come to visit . They make their waffle cones in house and have floats and affogato (ice cream with a shot of espresso). Flavors I've tried so far and can give two thumbs up: triple vanilla, parent trap, Sunday best banana pudding, the aviator and gillespie's bourbon pecan. I've passed by several times and finally stopped in to try the handcrafted ice cream and it's delicious. I got the double scoop of passion fruit turmeric and almond butter chocolate, just couldn't make up my mind since they both were yummy. The combination is a banquet in my mouth. Holy moly! Went out for ice cream and this place was a few minutes closer than cold stone so I figure "what they hay, let's check 'er out." Best choice all day! Everything seems to be made fresh by them, very simple menu with classic options and some creative flavors. I went with classic strawberry but you can taste as much as you want so I suggest coming here to see if you find a new flavorite! They even have pints for sale to go, top notch establishment. There just isn't any better ice cream than this anywhere near here. Maybe in all of Florida. Still research's tho. Great, creative flavors. My go-to is the GILLESPIE'S BOURBON PECAN. But I've had many. Probably my second favorite is the Midnight Chocolate and then the Parent Trap cus of the peanut butter. But you really can't go wrong. Very good ice cream. I tried the GILLESPIE'S BOURBON PECAN and it was delicious. The prices are a little higher but it is quality ice cream. They even have ice cream that has alcohol in it. The building is a cute little non detached building with a little patio out front than you can sit outside to enjoy your ice cream. There is very little parking around the building but I did not have a problem finding a spot. I will treat myself again real soon. read more

The ice cream was D E L I C I O U S! I had bourbon pecan in a pretzel cone and I will go again! Interesting flavor combos. I'm partial to ice cream with nuts and there was only one option. Other flavors sounded delicious too. The pretzel cone was a new experience for me and quite tasty, even if a bit salty. So consider that when determining which flavor of ice cream. The pilot is "one scoop" but is really 3 small scoops. Now for the cons, the place is very small and the names of the ice cream names are only on the counter so you can't see all the flavors if it's busy. A wall menu would be super helpful. I had to hold up the line to see them all. Also, parking is horrendous and crowded and people will run you over to get their ice cream! I have one serious appeal to the owners...get some blinds! These poor employees are working in a glass booth and when we were there the sun was so bright, they were literally having to shield their eyes to even look at the customers. It was blinding for them and the customers. It was mildly cool today and even though the a/c was on, it was much warmer inside because of the sun. I can't say this enough, it was horrible and I felt very bad for those ladies even though they had a smile on their face and were all very friendly. read more

Please don't shame me, I asked this lovely young lady if I could post her picture. When I first got here there were 3 people ahead of me. She was so professional and calm with the customer who had a small child with her. After I ordered my usual (Lavender) which some say it taste like soap, I love it! LOL I sat to enjoy my ice cream. About 5min went by and this lady served maybe 7 other customers all with a smile and even gave recommendations of their site. She even gave an extra stamp for Patrick's day... she deserves to be recognized. Always tip for great service, she seemed like she enjoyed doing her job. read more

Walked in the owner greeted us with a respect and jolly manor, Really nice guy gave me and my family all the flavor options including dairy options, gluten free options which is really cool! Very nice scenery as well nice lighting the ice cream store lit up with very calm pink and white very nice and simplistic. if I could give this 10 stars I would. Overall amazing environment, Respectful & Nice owner. And some bomb ice cream MADE BY HIMSELF. 10/5 Would def recommend. read more

Service was fine. Ice cream was bland. I got the bourbon pecan and it didn't even taste as good as cheap vanilla. Maybe because it wasn't very sweet? Not at all worth the high price. Over $15 for a one scoop pretzel cone and a one scoop cup with chocolate sauce ($1 for the chocolate sauce). read more

It is very spacious as well with plenty of comfortable booths to sit in and enjoy your ice cream. They sell cones, cups, sundaes, banana splits and nachos. I went with the waffle cone with chocolate ice cream and rainbow sprinkles. It was delicious. One of the employees was kind enough to hold the cone and pose for a picture for me. The old fire station transformed into a jewel box of deliciousness and fun. Then the secret ingredient, mentioned by many, how could you overlook it... the owner here, Mari, is a treasure. Not surprising that Mari was a nurse for many years. She cares for her customers in the same way a good nurse would, doing whatever it takes to make sure we're well cared for.
