Everything went well With the home visit with Mike. He came to see the dishwasher that was leaking water under the dishwasher door. Yesterday, I called and spoke to Michael and specifically explained my issue with our Maytag top load washing machine. He quoted me $95 to come out and assess the problem. He said that he did not take credit cards only accepted cash and checks. I told him I needed to talk to my husband first. I called again to schedule a time for him to come out and explained my issue again with the washer. Long story short, he came out and within seconds he had the machine working. I asked him what he did and he said he held down the start button for 6 seconds to reset it. I truly felt ripped off. He could have told me to do that over the telephone. But he chooses to come out and take advantage of people and charge them $95 to do something so simple. I am truly unsatisfied with his business conduct of making a fast buck. read more

My dyer stopped heating and needed repair. Samsung dryer, my first mistake, and of course the warranty just expired. I called Samsung and they had no one to service anything in the area. Started calling around and found Mayday. I called and left a voicemail. He called me back and came out the same day. The other places I called had a two week appointment time. He quickly determines what's wrong with it and tells me he's got to order some parts. The parts are here within two days and he's back out. He fixed my dryer within 45 minutes. He was quick, explained what was going on and his prices were the best out of all the companies I called. 10/10 will use again. read more

Best appliance repair shop in Yuma! Mike answered right away came the same day, within a few hours of my initial phone call and had the part on hand. My refrigerator was fixed in about an hour and he was very friendly, very professional and reasonable. I would recommend this company to anyone and will definitely contact him in the future for any appliance repairs ...6 months later My ice maker in my freezer wasn't working properly (totally unrelated to last visit) So I called Mayday, the first company that came to mind because of the last experience I had was a great one. Ok, so I read all the glowing reviews and I called them based on that. So here is a little perspective. THEY DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS, CASH ONLY!!! I saw the pic in the review and called based on that. I brought up what the ad online said and he said he didn't control what people post online, so here is the FYI. When they call you back it is from a restricted number, and they called three different times and DID NOT leave a message. So, if you are a person that normally doesn't answer unknown numbers you will want to pic it up. He did come over within an hour of finally connecting which was great and found it was going to be more than $650 to fix our fridge, but he had to go back and lookup the cost of the part and it would have to be ordered, which would take 3-4 days. He charged $75 for a service call and said he would call with the exact quote. That was Tuesday, this is Friday. No call. As you might imagine, a refrigerator is kinda important when you have $400+ of food in coolers. So. I guess if you want the quote you paid for or something fixed you have to follow up. Our experience wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either, thus the three stars. read more

Mike is very personable, professional and comes across like he can be trusted. I used him because it was less expensive for me to have him fix my three-year-old dishwasher than to buy a new one. My dryer was making a weird squeaking noise, off and on, for a weekend as I did laundry. The following weekend, it started out squeaking, then made a weird rattling noise, and then I smelled rubber. So I turned that sucker off, because I didn't want to burn out a belt and cause significant damage. I called Mayday on Sunday morning (by the time this all happened on Saturday they were closed). I received a call back by 2PM, he was at my house at 4PM, and my belt tensioner was replaced (i.e. dryer fixed) by 430PM. He had the part ready to go. As we all know, a weekend appliance repair can HURT the bank account, but I took the gamble because I didn't know how long it would be until I could break away from work and I really couldn't go without a dryer for weeks. Man, was I surprised. Same day service - on a Sunday - and the only thing that made me pause about the price was how incredibly reasonable it was. I thought maybe I misunderstood him! I hadn't used Mayday before, so I checked reviews before I called. There were really only two complaints. One was that he only takes cash or check, which is true. However, he informed me of that during the initial phone contact, so there was no surprise. I don't see that as a complaint worthy issue if you're told of the policy in advance. The second complaint revolved around how the return call comes from a restricted number and they didn't answer the calls. Well...I knew I had called for a service, I knew Mayday wasn't in my Contact list, so I expected that I may get a call from an unknown/restricted/identified-as-spam number (depending on your phone service). As such, I answered the various calls from unknown numbers and it was all good from there. Long story short, I'm very pleased with the service, the timing, and the price. And the only two complaints I saw in the reviews aren't things I would consider complaint worthy. read more

My 2 yr old washer quit. Called Mayday Monday morning. Mike called right back said he'd be here between 12-2. Called about 12 was here by 12:30. Washer needed new electric board. I recommend Mayday and I will call Mike if I ever need another appliance repair. I called Mayday because my Samsung washer stopped working, the door auto-locked and wouldn't open, and the display showed a "check pump" warning. On the phone, Mike gave a prognosis and outlined his fees before committing to come over. He arrived on time and had the situation fixed within an hour. He didn't leave until he saw the washer start moving through a wash cycle. I felt like Mike was honest and wanted to keep the repair as inexpensive as possible. Terrible, terrible company. He came out and inspected our washer and dryer then stated we needed a new pulley for the dryer. He stated we would need to pay for todays charges plus pay for the part he would need to order and that it would take two weeks to get. Never heard anything after that. A month later, we called him and was told somehow part never ordered and would order immediately. Since then he has never responded to our calls. I had a problem with the dryer in my rental which I could not figure out. I called Mayday Appliance based off of reviews on Yelp and Google. Mike answered, was super friendly, and said he would be over later in the day. He arrived by about 6pm, inspected the dryer and figured out it was just a shoe lace wrapped around the motor.
