My date and prefer this location because it's low key and nothing fancy. It's run mostly by teenagers and twenty something's. The location was new several years ago and the seats have some wear and tear but nothing to write home about. Sometimes they forget to turn the lights off when the movie starts, if that happens, just run and let someone know and they fix it right away. It's a non issue. I actually genuinely hate this theater. it's always so messy. Machines had no ice in all 4 machines they have. No soda. The ones that did have soda weren't carbonated enough & tasted only like syrup. Paid for cups just to end up getting water. They don't have water bottles anymore and instead of the big bucket they only have "large" bags that aren't even as big as the buckets used to be. Don't go here just because it's near. I would advise to at least go to bakersfield. read more

1 star. Customer service is awful, especially from the front staff member with glasses who checks tickets. Every time I come here, she searches my bag and my family's bags, even though we've never tried to sneak anything in. My Mom doesn't like to come here anymore because whenever we watch a movie as a family, we always get stopped to be searched, it feels hostile. What makes it worse is that white customers who come in after us don't get searched at all. I've even seen white patrons walk in with full backpacks--no check-- when they stay in the row behind us we saw them takeout Chipotle. Meanwhile, I'm being stopped over a small handbag that barely fits lip gloss. It feels targeted and discriminatory. Everyone else on staff is nice, but she completely ruins the experience. The lighting inside the theater is also terrible. Seat numbers are hard to see, which caused a seating mix-up during Lilo & Stitch. Because of that, a grown adult started yelling at us over an honest mistake that wouldn't have happened if the theater wasn't so dark. Moreover, if I'm paying $30+ I want the seat I sit in not to be peeling onto my clothes, or to step on something sticky on the way to the seat. Theater great but don't order food here. They took forever to "text you" to come get it which is kinda whack. I walked over to check if it was ready 15 min in and it still wasn't. Seats are completely worn out and uncomfortable, and the carpet is absolutely filthy, covered in stains everywhere and smelling like old feet. The whole place just feels neglected and poorly maintained. On top of that, the men's restroom is extremely unsanitary, with a strong odor and clearly not cleaned regularly. It honestly feels like basic hygiene and upkeep are being ignored. For a place that should be welcoming, this was a really disappointing and off-putting experience!!! read more

The decline is bad. I went to watch BeetleJuice with friends who drove down from Visalia, and I was embarrassed. The service was horrible. No one was at the podium to scan our tickets but we couldn't enter because a girl at customer service told us to wait. Then, we go to order food and we're told the kitchen is closed at 730p on a Thursday. Then they don't have any memorabilia left when the movie just came out and tickets were not a high demand. All right the only reason why I'm giving this theater in Delano a three is because we like the movie other than that the service was terrible we went to see a 5:45 movie that place was completely empty It took 20 minutes for fries we were supposed to get a text message saying they were ready 15 minutes later I think I'm going to go check on the fries see what's going on they haven't even been started to cook yet they seem like they forgot them and it was no reason for it because that place was dead it was nobody there they refunded my money but that's not the point The customer service should be a lot faster when there's no one there read more

I had a really upsetting experience here. When I walked in, the staff member Sherri seemed happy to see me. But the moment my boyfriend (who is Hispanic) joined me, her smile disappeared and she seemed disgusted. Before we could even enter, we were asked to let them search my purse. something I've never been asked to do at any theater til that day. It felt obvious that we were being singled out based on appearance, and it was uncomfortable and embarrassing. We left right after. Discrimination like this should never be tolerated, and I hope the business takes this as a chance to reflect and do better. I will NEVER return here nor recommend it, unless you like feeling like garbage. I wish I could give this place negative stars. read more

One of the only ways to entertain yourself in Delano! I love the cleanliness of this theater and the ample space in the concession area. Extra butter, jalapeños and other toppings are available in a self-serve fashion, which is great because you control the amount and type of toppings you want on your popcorn. The soda fountain has a variety of flavors to choose from and is also available as self-serve. Stop driving out of town to watch a movie. Come support one of the cleanest theaters in the county! read more

If you're used to the Bakersfield Maya Cinemas, don't come here, you'll be disappointed. When I first came in the door the lady said she couldn't scan my phone so I had to go to a kiosk and print tickets then get back in line and show my tickets. The seats don't recline and there's no wall in-between rows. I got kicked countless times and there's no leg room at all. The weekend we went they were out of most soda options as well. We thought we were being smart by going to Delano since most of the Bakersfield showings were full, joke was on us ‍. read more

Staff is friendly, bathrooms are clean, but the food I ordered (nachos, asada fries) took 30 min to make and went at 2-3pm on a friday! Missed the 1st 10 min of the movie. Can anyone cleaning check out theater 4 on the front rows, there's a massive spider web on the left side of wall, the wall floor light that's on before movie plays was showing it, might as well check ALL theaters and maybe under seats -who knows! That's frightening , could be black widow webs!!! read more

Delano is becoming a nicer place to come home to bc of the addition to this beautiful cinema. I'm not familiar too much with the Maya Cinemas brand but I am nothing but impressed with the beauty of this new Delano gem. It's so nice to know I can drive 10 minutes instead of the old 45 to Bakersfield to watch a movie. The facility is clean and modern. Some theaters have reclining seats, which is reserved for the newer movies. The older theaters have regular seating, which means it's the same style of seat it just doesn't recline and have a foot rest. Whenever I'm back in my hometown my mom and I have a movie date! Don't waste your money or time at this establishment. I tried buying an extra ticket after the movie had already started & they would not sell it to me even though the theater was empty. I asked to talk to the manager & he was not any help as well. This will be the last time I spend my money here. I'd prefer to drive to Bakersfield or Tulare next time. This was my first time watching movies in Delano and I was super excited. I'm so happy I don't have to travel to either Bakersfield or Tulare to watch movies. When I first walked into the building I was very pleased of how clean everything looked. REASON FOR 5 STARS - Customer service was great - The arcade area was pretty cool - Restrooms were really clean - The seats were comfortable - Unlimited popcorn (and they give you containers to share) - They have the best free toppings; lemon, parmesan cheese, butter, salt & hot sauce - Yeah for the mango flavored slushy - Assigned seating I hope everyone reading this that lives in Delano supports this theater so we can keep it here. read more

After traveling from out of town, and this being my first visit to this cinema, I didn't appreciate how I was treated after getting my tickets scanned. They had to do a "security check" of my purse? I sure hope their checking everyone's purse not just mine. My whole life, I've never had my purse checked to see a movie. The lady really tripped about me have a water bottle because no outside food or drinks policy. Really a water??? Never have I felt this at a movie. And mind you we did buy plenty of things for our kids at their concession stand. I just can't understand the pettiness of a water bottle. Not like I brought in a whole 5 course meal. read more

Traveled from Bakersfield to see space jam due to maya theaters in Bakersfield being sold out. The seats were so close together. Completely uncomfortable. Nowhere to put our snacks in theater 10. I got kicked throughout the whole movie. When we got to our car our group of 10, each and everyone of us were bit up. We each had about 8 bits and welts all over our body. Never again! This place is a Diamond in the rough. Recliner seats, first time I have seen the little trey table which is a nice addition. All the food except the popcorn was made to order and they send you a text when the food is ready so you don't have to stand there waiting. The ticket process is a self serve kiosk and I had to help my grandpa with that. Place was clean. We will be back read more

It's so amazing that Delano has its own theater, no more driving to Bakersfield or Visalia. The seating is great and fun. This is a brand new theater. If you're a late person don't bother cuz it's assigned seating and you'll end up sitting in the front. They definitely need a shade area for those who wait in line especially being Kern county summers average temp is 98 degrees. But for those on time peps, will enjoy it and the spacious room. I was not happy that they were not able to accept my gift card yet, I ended up having to pay the night theater price instead matinee, due to limited seating. Our cinema seated 50. Recliner chairs are amazing. My kids were like wow!!! I only had a limited amount of cash on me so I could not get kids popcorn since I had to pay cash instead of gift card. I let what look like a manager know, thinking we'll maybe he might strike deal on popcorn but it was a no go. read more

The facilities here should get 5 stars, unfortunately the patrons make the movie watching experience very unpleasant. I have given it three chances and it got worse every time. We watched alien vs. Predator and kids were running up and down the stairs because they were too young to sit still. We watched the new Halloween and it was like being in a daycare, parents all over the theater were explaining to their toddlers why that person on the screen just died a gruesome death. If you just want to get out of the house and don't really care about the movie, this theater will be fine. If you are excited about the movie stay far away from this place. read more

Very rude concessionist. Learned her name from the other employees is "Alice". Was also told they get various complaints about her but managers do not do a single thing. She provides zero eye contact and is often in a very bad mood. I understand bad days exist but every single time I go, it is the same thing. Everyone just be aware. Has anyone else had this problem? Besides this employee, everyone is really greeting and seems happy to be working there. Box office members are very sweet and really set a nice helpful attitude before going in. Ushers are very helping and sure to tell you to have a good day after walking out from a movie. This is a very nice addition to Delano and I hope we continue to keep it nice and elegant. read more
