They let us sit and get comfortable as well as check out their sweet grounds which included 5 vintage camper AirBNB units which we were able to check out while tasting....pretty cool. The wines we had were solid. 2 x white and 2 x red. We also opened up a bottle of Pinot Noir which was really good also! We got a bottle of Cab reserve to go which I'm sure by tasting the others will be awesome! Anyways a great experience from two awesome people! The owner Ilda Vaja is so passionate about it she calls it a very expensive hobby. And I can't imagine what it takes to plant, care for, produce and bottle the wine every year. She was the sole managing person here this particular Friday and man was it such a fun conversation we had. We learned a lot about Tehachapi and how she started it and it is just heart warming to hear the story. She's also the first one to plant and produce a very good Malbec. The tasting consisted of a rosé, Cabernet, Merlot and Malbec. She served this with cheese, crackers and local chocolates! The ranch also has AirBNB rooms so be sure to check out her website for availability. Women owned, local and full of love. You can taste that in the product. During this weekend trip, I also visited 2 other wineries but I can tell you hands down, this was an absolutely memorable stop. I highly recommend stopping by here if you're passing by. I was and I know the other 6 people there and she was not one of them. These two girls came into a place they were not actually allowed to be in and they know it because of the sign on the front door. They placed a wonderful establishment in jeopardy due to their flagrant disregard for the law. The fact that one of them was a slight darker shade had no barring on situation. The manager, Karen, is one of the nicest, sweetest, friendliest and accepting people in the world. She is always willing to bend over backwards for anyone who needs help. She and this establishment are a warm and comforting welcome to a harsh world.
