Just got food from here delivered to my hotel (thanks Deliveroo!) and it arrived piping hot and…read moredelicious, and if not for the plastic containers it was just like being served right there in the restaurant. Example: my udon noodles came with a fried egg, they actually put the egg in its own little container to keep it intact, and it arrived with the yolk still runny, HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? I'm so impressed. I polished off the edamame, simple but yum, wasn't a huge fan of the weird seaweed garden salad thing - it had a creamy sauce on it and a bunch of other things that weren't seaweed. I didn't realize it's like, literally a garden salad you'd get as a side, with seaweed on it plus some creamy sauce. I picked all the seaweed out to nom on, and the fresh avocado, didn't want the rest. On to the next on on to the next... Korean Bibimbap Seafood Udon. YUM. Big fat slurpable noodles - check. Tangy kimchi - check. Mixed seafood including mussels, prawns, fish cake - check. Aforementioned perfect fried egg dotted with seaweed - check. Veggies like carrots, courgette, mushrooms - check. Meal in a bowl! Filling, wonderful, and I have to say slurpable again because it was the slurpablest ever. Aside from the kimchi, the broth tasted like nice broth, but not like "omg this is so Korean and unusual," and it wasn't super spicy, however it was an incredibly well-assembled dish, everything fresh and perfectly texture. Totally addicting, I kept eating it even after I was full because I would leave no noodle untouched. Can't speak for what the restaurant is like, but delivery was super fast on a Tuesday night, and I can't even believe how hot and fresh the food arrived. This udon soup is the perfect cure for a rainy winter night, you should go get some right now.

Travel'd from Derby just for this restaurant and trust me it was absolutely worth it! Couldn't…read morerecommend this place more than anywhere else in Nottingham/Derby stop eating Wagamama and get yourself some real asian food from sushi to some of the nicest udon noodles i've ever had. Top things to try: Bento Boxes (Amazing for people who are new to asian cuisine but are willing to try things from sushi to curry dishes) Noodle Soups: I Personally love the Sake Gyu Niku Udon which is Sake marinated beef with thick, udon noodles in soya soup. ------------------ Service: Amazing but persistent i feel like the restaurant is a bit over staffed when it comes to servers and waiters due to the fact we had 3/5 people ask us if we are ready to order as the menu is rather large we took 10 minutes to decide and having people coming up and asking you constantly are you ready to order and stuff like that can make you feel pressured to hurry up and order but honestly they are some of the nicest servers you could ask for, ------------------ Problems: Calling your restaurant Pan Asia BBQ And not having the BBQ's working/available is a really off putting thing about returning it's the main reason i'm giving 4/5 traveling 50 minutes for this restaurant getting your hopes up and not having the whole experience isn't the best but i will return when they're working and ill update my review. ------------------ Short Summary: Amazing Asian food rather cheap, really good for people starting out with asian food or just wanting to experiment. Traveled quite far but was worth it only thing that let it down was the BBQ's not working.

Came here as a party of 4 and luckily had made a reservation so got a table by the window…read more For drinks got the elderflower lemonade with no ice which was a mistake as it was sickly sweet. I ended up adding fair amounts water to soften the sugary taste down a bit. However encountered better luck with the choice of our food as both starters just blew away everyone on our table. We decided to get both of the Sharing Boards and oh gosh, brilliant decision as the food was excellent! 1) Bao Bun Board: just super delicious. I liked the crispy hoisin duck more than the BBQ pulled pork, and also liked the self service aspect of this (you had to make your own Bao bun). Really appreciated that they served generous amounts of the stuffing elements for the bun and all 4 items just complemented each other. 2) Age Board: the blackened chicken and tempura cauliflower bites were amazing! As were the accompanying sauces. The duck spring rolls were okay, but definitely for our group the chicken & cauliflower won when it came to tastiness. The cauliflower bites especially just super crisp while the chicken was so moist and with just super delicious spices! We should have stopped there and ordered dessert instead next, but we didn't realize so had also ordered mains! I got the Shio Ramen; other members of our group got the Bibimbap with Shrimp; Kung Pao Chicken; and Chow Mein. Btw, if you are worried that the menu selection seems all over the place when it comes to Asian food with Japanese, Korean, Sichuan Chinese & Hong Kong being represented with the menu choices our group made, I want to reassure anyone reading this review, that the food is tightly focused and the restaurant is Pan-Asian rather than Fusion Asian cuisine, so it all tastes fairly authentic. I had a taste of the Bibimbap and it was deliciousness! I think I might have enjoyed my Shio Ramen more if I wasn't already massively full from the Entree's. However if I return back to the restaurant, I won't get this ramen menu item again - I wanted a wee bit more vegetables plus the broth was a bit too bland for my taste. I put in copious amounts of dark soy spice and chili oil to spice it up. I also don't think the taste of the semi-cured chashu pork belly as the protein in the ramen was all that great. Don't get me wrong, the pork tasted delicious, but I wanted more of the fat to be present and mix with the ramen broth and instead it was more smoky taste elements. Overall however, service was great and as mentioned previously, those two starters hit it out of the park. I'd definitely return and get those two tasting boards again! Yelp 172/ 2019

My brother wanted to stay in his pushchair and we kindly asked the staff if he could but the lady said no as she doesn't want to open another section as it wasn't busy? Basically declining are request even tho my mum explained to her that he won't sit down and she just suggested to try the high chair. We tried the high chair and my brother started crying which caused both staff and people to look at us. My mum had to walk around with my brother around the restaurant to calm him down but there was still no sympathy from staff. Maybe at this point we should of walked out but we decided to order food which take long cause the staff wouldn't come to our table, once we ordered my mum spotted the manger and went to have a word with him if we could move he brushed my mum off and had no remorse using another excuse saying the chefs are eating there but when I looked there were no chefs eating in that section. My mum explained her situation again yet they still didn't care which resulted my mum to have her food packed and walk out the restaurant with my brother while me and mum sister eat due to the food already being served. This is absolutely upsetting that in there big restaurants they couldn't find a table suitable to having a pushchair. You haven't just lost us as customers but my entire family and friends and hopefully others that have sen and development delay children. Fear Allah you could end up in the same situation. Won't be missing the food anyways x

The food is classed as pan asian which is great as I love all asian food. However, the sushi, although very good, I feel it is slightly overpriced for what you get. My first visit to Sakana and I was pleasantly surprised at how its interior looked (more so the delicious smells wafting over as you passed by their open kitchen). We were seated in a corner with decent views of the goings-on, and set about conquering the menu - the group was almost military in its tactics, dividing the menu's sections between ourselves to make sure we got to sample lots of different dishes. Three of us ordered a bottle of their house red (a Merlot) which was actually quite good - a bit on the peppery side but I really liked it. The food started to arrive after a bit of a wait, but we'd had some prawn crackers to whet our appetite. The sashimi platter that I ordered for us all to share was a bit disappointing (usual price £28 for 15 pieces). I can't think of anything else that was particularly underwhelming; the combo of orders was all rather good - but the highlights for me were the Taiwanese buns which you could have with shredded duck or pork belly (we ordered both). These were absolutely heavenly, for want of a better word. Service was friendly, if not a tad haphazard at times; it's definitely somewhere to consider for date night. That being said, you'd have to be happy 'flashing the cash' as I don't think it's worth the full price they'd ordinarily be charging diners.

The price, as…read morementioned by Natalie, is maybe a bit on the higher side for a lunch but I think its overall worth it. (Although maybe not the sort of meal that would really fill you up if you were really hungry). I have had the fish tacos, the slow cooked short ribs and most recently the Dragon Bowl. The fish tacos were pretty good, short ribs tasty and the Dragon Bowl was good too. Fusion Lab is located right next to Viet Shack - part of the same family - and they serve similar sort of food. Also just opposite is Gym Shack which is all part of the same family (and opened by the same people). This is similar to Kettlebell Kitchen with high protein and healthy carb meals - (still not had a chance to try Gym Shack yet). One thing to mention, with Vietnamese food generally, it often has coriander in it so if you don't like it, mention this and can you have what you order without it - which I forgot when I got the short ribs.
