One of them absolutely changed my life. It was something that any doctor that had listened to me should have caught 10 years before - but Dr. Pallares is the one that put her thinking cap on long enough to actually HEAR ME instead of pumping me through the office like a machine. I adore Dr. Pallares and her staff. I would recommend them to ANYONE who is looking for a pediatrician or GP.

Dr. John David Kolter is new to the world of private practice and has a lot to learn about patient care. I met with Dr. Kolter for my initial visit and general physical exam. I started by telling him that I have Asthma and that I needed a prescription for Xopanex. He had my medical records in front of him which include all prescriptions from my previous doctor, including Xopanex. He told me that he felt that I should have some extensive ($768) tests to "make sure I really had Asthma." I felt there was no way to get the prescription without taking a very expensive Pulmonary Function Test and coming back for a follow-up appointment to discuss the results and get a prescription (creating another insurance bill). I spent 5 hours at the Baptist East Hospital taking this Pulmonary Function Test, just to confirm what I've known since I was 8 and what was written in my records that he had in front of him! It was a total waste of my time and the total cost to me after insurance was $768.46 for the test alone. Plus another office visit that cost me $104.00. I'd been fleeced! I can't recommend going to this practice due to the fleecing I experienced from both Dr. Kolter and his insurance coding vultures that charged me for every little thing that I mentioned in my interview. This is the epitome of modern legalized extortion. Save your money and find a more experienced doctor who knows how to trust their patient and read their patient's history before prescribing a bunch of needless tests and avoid this predatory insurance-coding practice.

Care level has dropped dramatically in the last 12 months. Employees don't answer the phone and…read morewill never return a call. The only way to get thru is to contact the doctor directly. Medical records are not correct or up to date, employees have attitudes and do not willing complete tasks like insurance forms, test results, etc. after 5 years of being a very happy patient, I feel like they'd rather I wasn't there. Ever. I certainly don't need to pay a monthly fee for service that is lower than an urgent care. Twice now I've had lab work done, and was done again at another provider and the results were completely different. I am starting to think that although blood was drawn, labs weren't sent in. Maybe it's a staffing issue. Maybe too many irons in the fire or too many patients.

Are you sure I can't award Dr Kamal ten stars? She certainly deserves far more than five stars! Dr…read moreKamal is the newest Endocrinologist in the U of L Endocrinology and Diabetic Associates practice. My vote was out for maybe five minutes or less until we met her. She is young but don't hold that against her! Dr Palwasha Kamal specializes in Endocrinology and Diabetic Nutritional Care. She is an excellent communicator. While in the waiting room I listened as two older ladies left an appointment in this office. They were conversing about the doctors thoroughness and totally delightful personality. Yep, they must have just seen Dr Kamal because that is exactly our opinion of her also. She spent much more time than I'm accustomed to with providers in this office. She reviewed ALL the lab results from recent tests and previous tests to form an opinion on how well diabetes was being controlled. She made note that one portion of the blood work had not been completed and asked that we stop at the lab before leaving so she could see complete results. She noted that I had a complaint of allergic reaction to my husband's use of insulin and asked us about that. I had since seen an allergist and was able to explain to her my rare reaction (1 in 500,000) to the phenol m- cerosol preservative was causing me major adverse symptoms that ended once my husband changed to another injectable diabetes medicine. Dr Kamal also wanted to try my husband on a constant glucose monitor over his twice daily finger prick tests. When my husband said our insurance doesn't cover that she said they could perform it as a ten day trial on a loaner basis. So at her recommendation we took care of that with this visit and just needed to return the monitor after ten days. What a difference a doctor can make. Dr Kamal is FANTASTIC! She will be my husband's Endocrinologist in the future and recommends seeing him every other appointment with the alternate visit still handled by PA Melanie. We look forward to her future care and recommend her to patients needing to see an Endocrinologist. I still say she deserves ten stars!
