Dr. Watson's associate, Dr. Kolter is new to the practice and comes highly recommended by Dr. Jill Watson. Dr. John David Kolter is new to the world of private practice and has a lot to learn about patient care. I met with Dr. Kolter for my initial visit and general physical exam. I started by telling him that I have Asthma and that I needed a prescription for Xopanex. He had my medical records in front of him which include all prescriptions from my previous doctor, including Xopanex. He told me that he felt that I should have some extensive ($768) tests to "make sure I really had Asthma." I felt there was no way to get the prescription without taking a very expensive Pulmonary Function Test and coming back for a follow-up appointment to discuss the results and get a prescription (creating another insurance bill). I spent 5 hours at the Baptist East Hospital taking this Pulmonary Function Test, just to confirm what I've known since I was 8 and what was written in my records that he had in front of him! It was a total waste of my time and the total cost to me after insurance was $768.46 for the test alone. Plus another office visit that cost me $104.00. I'd been fleeced! I can't recommend going to this practice due to the fleecing I experienced from both Dr. Kolter and his insurance coding vultures that charged me for every little thing that I mentioned in my interview. This is the epitome of modern legalized extortion. Save your money and find a more experienced doctor who knows how to trust their patient and read their patient's history before prescribing a bunch of needless tests and avoid this predatory insurance-coding practice. read more

Dr Kolter came recommended by others in his practice. He doesn't seem to have been practicing medicine long enough to accurately test, diagnose and treat with any certainty or confidence, yet his bedside manner at times comes off as arrogant and omnipotent. It may be that he is attempting to overcompensate for his youth, and with time and experience this will improve. I didn't feel comfortable trusting my wellness in his hands and recently found another physician. read more

I have been going to Dr. Kolter for several years now. I have to say he is the only Dr. I have ever visited that has taken me seriously. When I didn't have an Endo Dr. yet he followed me so closely that my GI Dr. made the remark during a Colonoscopy that he must really like me because he was watching my condition so closely. Now DM1 he has allowed me to follow my Endo in tangent with him closely. Recently, eye issues, he is now watching me closely with that specialist. I am a Ketogenic eater, Low Carb, Mod Protein, High good fats and it has taken him awhile but not only did he finally add this to my record but also ordered an NMR profile due to my request. No he is not a Functional Medicine Physician but I sure wish he was more involved in the holistic approach because he is best best Internal Medicine physician I have ever visited. Due to his youth, he has this speaking with the patient and having to log everything into the EHR computer program down to a science. He will look at you and work on the computer at the same time. Unfortunately, few have tackled this approach but he is proficient at this skill. It is obvious he does care. He is bound by our Main Stream Insurance Environment. The only reason I didn't give him a 5 star is that I believe he needs to know more and incorporate the Keto Diet to his patients care to improve our heath to the best possible we can be. read more

I think he is an excellent physician. He has always been very thorough, knows who I am and my history. He has a good sense of humor too. Now, if I could just get him to stop wearing bow ties! read more
