I've had two trucks through Maxtorq's doors, and have had excellent experiences with the owner/mechanic, Rob, with both trucks. My first truck was an 07 with a 48re auto, and my current truck, an 03 with the nv5600 6-speed. Rob is honest, knowledgeable, forthcoming, and trustworthy, and has never given me a reason to believe otherwise. If there is a problem, he addresses it directly. If there is an issue, he explains whats happening and suggests a fix. If it isn't critical, he explains why it's a "tomorrow problem" and not a "today problem". He addresses each item of repair individually, without suggesting or implying a bunch of other work is needed. He offers advice when prompted and has answered every question I have asked him....and there have been many. Owning a diesel isn't cheap. It just isn't. But I feel like he earns every dollar he charges, and does the work with integrity and transparency. I would recommend Rob and Maxtorq Diesel Performance 10/10 to anyone with a Dodge/Ram Cummins needing any kind of service work. Where do I start. I have been doing business with Maxtorq for many years now and would like to comment on some recent reviews. Rob is very knowledgeable when it come to these trucks and if your writing a garbage review maybe you should slow down and let him figure out your problem rather than using keyboard madness. A mechanic that is reasonable, trustworthy, and capable. Normally you would need to pick 1 or 2 from that list - but with Rob at Maxtorq you get all three. I have taken my Dodge Diesel to Maxtorq for a few jobs over the years with really great results, but the big one hit last month - as most people who have a dodge cummins with automatic transmission will eventually require - I needed my transmission rebuilt. I did some calling around - I wasn't beating around the bush - I wanted it completely rebuilt. After getting a couple prices I told my wife "OK, now to call the guy I trust" expecting it to be much more expensive than the other quotes. I don't know why I was surprised but his quote was right in line with other quotes I had. A bit more than one quote, and less than two quotes. Plus, Rob explained how he puts heavier duty parts in the transmission that the other shops didn't discuss and almost certainly weren't going to use. So the truck went to Maxtorq. Probably no too smart, but the first trip I took with my nice new smooth tranny was a camping trip to the Grand Junction area. Somewhere around Parachute the transmission started acting weird so I pulled over to find ATF pouring out from the cooler. I called Rob and he gave me great troubleshooting advice over the phone and I was able to limp into a garage to get that part, that was not part of the transmission rebuild, repaired. I'm going to make a longish story a bit short here by just stating that by the time I had realized the cooler was leaking it was too late. The transmission had suffered serious damage. Ugh. What a crappy coincidence. Rob suggested I get it back to him, and so I did. Rob repaired the transmission again. It was a bit of a funny situation because really the fact that the transmission ended up having this problem was not at all his fault, but to my very pleasant surprise the charge for this additional repair was $0. Rob provides the kind of service and support that is just extremely difficult to come by these days. If all my vehicles were Dodge Diesels I'd never have to go to another mechanic. I cannot recommend this shop any higher. If you have a dodge diesel, and you need some work done on it, you have found the right place. read more

Rob has a Terrible attitude and is not a good businessman or mechanic! This can verified by Tombstone diesel in Castlerock! Rob did the Rebuild on my 2016 ram engine that lasted less than 5k miles, the check engine light came on after first picking it up on the way home! The check engine light never went off! 6 months of warranty trips and run around, dealing w his excuses of what was wrong with the engine! He then Wrecked my truck on a test drive! The truck sat at his unsecured yard waiting for the Ins appraiser after the wreck. I later find from tombstone that the new parts that were paid for out of the $20k+ engine rebuild were now old parts amongst other things. $9k for tombstone to fix Robs poor work and they also find the reason that the check engine light was on! It was a compression leak in the new head! The engine is now trash and will have to be replaced If you want more info on this shop let me know! He slandered me to the tombstone owner when he called to ask questions and to let him know that the head was bad and to ask if he would make it right. Nope! I never had a confrontation with this guy, I did try to hold him to his word and our deal and then he wrecked the truck! His wife is a very nice lady, she communicated well throughout and covers for Rob his poor work as a mechanic. Rob has a high opinion of his skills! It's been a horrible experience w him and the damage to my biz has been rough! He is not a good cummins mechanic, he is very arrogant and has a bad attitude! I wouldn't recommend him to fix a lawnmower! Think twice about this shop! read more

Beware and run away from Rob and MaxTorq Diesel. I came to Rob after dealing with a mechanic that said he did a lot of this work to my truck, but didn't do everything he said he did. I took my truck to Maxtorq with Rob and Dawn. When Rob spoke with this other mechanic on the phone, Rob swore the transmission had not been out of my truck due to the bolt being untouched and all parts in the transmission being stock parts even though the other mechanic gave a list of stuff he had done to the transmission. I paid Rob at Maxtorq Diesel over $9,000 dollars in May of 2024. This cost did not include work that had been done before the transmission rebuild. Two days after I got the truck back from Rob at Maxtorq, I ended up on the side of the road with it overheating. I had only gone 7 miles from my house with a 10,000-pound camper on a truck that can pull over 19,000lbs. I had problem after problem, over and over, overheating to the point where they had to replace a value in the valve body. I was told everything in the transmission was brand-new. On Oct 2nd, I had 2 new codes pop up with less than 10,000 miles on the transmission from Maxtorq and learned that the transmission had failed and needed to be completely rebuilt. Rob made an appointment with me for Oct 21st so I took the truck there the night of the 20th. I went to them on Oct 23rd and found that he had only looked at my truck and said it would be November 18th before he could do the work, but told me I could leave the truck with them and he would try to get to it in on Nov 5th. I found out on the week of the 5th that Rob went hunting for 2 weeks. Something was not setting well with me and I needed my truck as this is a work truck. I had a bad feeling like I did with the first mechanic, so I went and picked the truck up from Maxtorq on Nov 11th and took it to a different shop. When I told Maxtorq that I was coming to get the truck, Dawn sent me a text message saying they were ordering parts and going to build a new one and put it in my truck. I ask why was this not told to me back in Oct when I was being led on for almost 2 months. No reply. The other shop was able to get the work done in 3 days. What the other shop found was that a 2007 to 2018 ram 68RFE transmission pump was put into my truck. My truck is a 2020 and the transmission pump was changed on the 2019 to 2024 trucks. When I spoke to Rob and let him know this, he tried to put this on the other guy that he had sworn didn't touch my transmission and just took my money. Not only do I have a written statement from the transmission shop that fixed Rob's work, but I also compared the pump at Larie H Miller Ram with their Transmission tech mechanic. Rob added a separator plate to the pump and handled the pump, but did not in any form take responsibility for his work that destroyed the transmission. I went to Maxtorq to talk to Rob about this issue. Rob took the pump and pump shaft and walked into his shop and threw them across the room. He and Dawn then demanded that all of the parts that came out of my transmission be returned to them. I gave them back all of the other parts that he had put in the transmission for the refund of $7500 dollars. Dawn took the parts back to the back room, dropping the box of parts on the floor and kicking the box repeatedly. During this process, Rob also tried saying that the torque converter core charge was $1800 when it was really only $600 dollars. In order to be completely done with this, I agreed to subtract the $600 from the total that I was asking to be refunded of $7500, taking the total refund down to $6900. While waiting to get the refund going in their system, Dawn took my debit card and when she was done threw it at me. She was slamming things around, including her computer mouse and the credit card machine on her desk. I continued to be calm and just asked for them to refund what I had to pay to have my truck fixed elsewhere and not the total that I had paid them. I received a credit card receipt printout from them at that moment showing that they were crediting back $6,900 to my account. Several days later, after they set up the refund, they then cancelled the $6900 refund to my debit card. When I asked about it, Rob stated that they had to refund back to the credit cards I had used for payment. The accounts I used did show amounts pending, but they never went through and each amount on each account has now fallen off of pending status and is no longer showing on my account. I am now filing a claim in court in Jefferson County for all that I paid, plus all other expenses that I incurred while not having a work truck for 2 months. read more

Was on a trip from Houston to Steamboat CO. and had trouble with the def system on my Dodge Ram. Five different dealerships couldn't even look at it for a week. I have been a customer of Maxtorq's since I have owned my Ram 2500. Along with my regular maintenance, they have done nearly all of the other work done to my truck, and that list is extensive (many performance modifications done.) Whenever anything was in need of repair or replacement, Rob took the time to explain and then show me what exactly what was wrong, then how or what the fix would be. He even would explain the failure then show me how it failed. Most of these failures were my own doing (beating the snot out of it), or in one instance, another local shops doing. Maxtorq doesn't try to sell you on a bunch of stuff you don't need, only what you actually need. They may suggest an upgraded part here or there, but only if it relates to what needs to be done anyways, and there is never pressure on the sale. This honesty is what keeps me coming back. There are other performance diesel shops in the Denver metro area, but this is the only shop in town that I would recommend to anyone with a Cummins. Stock or otherwise. There aren't very many companies left in this country that are customer oriented, but Rob and Dawn at Maxtorq Diesel go above and beyond. Read below for my full story..... It's been about 9 months since my IP on my 1990 Cummins Dodge sprung a leak and with the help of a local diesel racer we've determined (he did) that there was more wrong than just a bad seal. It appears that the timing wheel pin sheared off and would need to be replaced. I contacted Maxtorq Diesel and spoke with Dawn who told me that Rob was out on military assignment for the next few months. This didn't stop Dawn in any way from helping me. She played middle man (woman) and relayed information (pics/emails) back and forth where Rob was able to remotely diagnose my injection pump as being toast and in need a rebuild. Moving forward 3 months I finally decided it was time to get the old beater fixed so I am ready for winter as I've got a few trips to the Northeast planned and my Harley just won't cut it. Knowing that Rob was out of pocket on military assignment I knew I'd have to find one locally or off ebay. I called around to several shops in the VA/NC area and all came with rebuild quotes ranging from $1200-$1600 or I could buy a new one directly from Cummins for $1900. OUCH!!! My first thought was I'm not putting that much into a truck that's only worth about $3k so I pondered the idea of parting it out and just cutting my losses. I decided to take a shot in the dark and contact Dawn again to see if they had one on the shelf I could buy. Low and behold not only do they have one, the price is better than any place that I've gotten quotes from thus far (nearly 1/3 less). I won't go into details on here about the price or how the deal is being handled but I can tell you that Dawn (and Rob) are a truly amazing people and are very customer oriented. Dawn has gone out of her way to ensure that I got the part I needed in a timely manner. In closing I can say that from this point forward anytime that I need something engine related for my cummins diesel regardless of how small they'll be first on my list to call. Maxtorq Diesel is the only place I will take my truck. Rob and Dawn are awesome! Rob is the most knowledgeable individual I have ever met regarding Cummins. If you are experiencing an issue with your truck Rob will take the time to talk with you on the phone and troubleshoot the problem. Unlike other places I've taken my truck to, when you bring your truck in, he will explain any possible issues, their causes and the solutions. Not just tell you somethings broken and it will take $$$$ to fix it. I have lived in Fort Collins, Greeley, Boulder, Westminster, Denver, Craig and now Wright Wyoming.
