He quoted over email. He informed me he would have a plumber out to me - I took the morning off work - the plumber never arrived I rang him and informed him plumber had not arrived - he told me he had not put the job in the system so he would need to come out another day - again I had to chase him as plumber did not arrive at the newly scheduled time. Plumber eventually came and he disconnected the gas but did not provide me with a conformance cert. I told him he needed to provide me with a conformance cert - he argued with me but eventually acceded and I paid him. A few weeks later I tried to turn on my living room fire, I could not, I informed Con that his plumber disconnected gas to living room and below is the email thread that ensued: Gavin There was no gas supply to the fire present. I suspect it may have been disconnect at some other time. Con That's not true Con - I had the fire on when I moved into the house Gavin When I initially called you requested that the gas supply to the kitchen be disconnected. I told you that the best was to do this was to disconnect the old GB pipe and run a new supply to the boiler. This you agreed to. You never mentioned that there was a gas fire nor was there a gas supply taken from the garage for a fire. I explained what we were going to do which you were aware of and agreeable to. You pointed out the items you wanted done. I gave you a price for same. At no time did you point out that there was a gas supply going to the lounge or that there was a gas fire. I was never in the lounge. I explained that we would remove the old GB pipe going into the kitchen and run a new pipe from the gas meter to the boiler. Having purchased a new abode, several items seemed to be out of order in the electrical department…read more It was decided we needed to call in a professional, as despite standing around talking about the offending item for hours, they still wouldn't work. Upon arriving into work, I opened up Yelp and the very first thing I say was a review for Hade Electrical. I took it as a sign and immediately looked up the website (despite it being a post by the owner). The website is nicely done (aka it doesn't look like someone's 4 year old has developed it for IE5) and I decided to call the chap called Dermot. On the phone he was lovely to speak with and we arranged for him to come out. At the agreed time, he was waiting for me at the new abode. For the next while, I pointed out what I wanted him to look at, and followed him around while he worked on things. He probably thinks I'm a freak for following him around, but I had nothing else to do and I was interested in what was going on. He was so kind when he pointed out that my non-functioning doorbell chime was actually the alarm bell box, and even held in the laughter when pointing out that the alarm sensor up in the corner was my doorbell chime. Bless his heart! He fixed up some bits and bobs and left me with info for a new heater, if we wanted to replace the hideous storage heater which wasn't working. He came back in later that week to remove our storage heaters, fit a sleek new electric rad and replace the elements in the water heater. He was extremely friendly, pleasant to chat with and I actually had a good laugh joking with him. He cleaned up after himself and took everything away. He even fitted a new ceiling spot for free as a house-warming present! I was more than happy with the fee's he charged, I thought they were very reasonable. We will definitely be using him again.
