This was my first visit to Max's Deli. It was noon on a Wednesday. The tiny store wasn't too busy but unfortunately I had the luck of getting stuck behind someone who ordered a whole lot of food. I placed my order after a 15 minute wait. I enjoyed my roast beef wrap special with beef barley soup while listening to Bryan Adams, U2 and other 80's tunes as well as the owner's own rendition of the chorus section. The sandwich was great and so was the customer service and interactions. I highly recommend stopping in there, especially when more than half of their items, salads, soups, roast beef, and Turkey are made in house. Cant get any fresher than that. read more

I refuse to get an Italian hero or a breakfast sandwich anywhere but here. The prices are more than reasonable and the portions are generous. They offer different soups daily, which is nice, but I always hope the split pea will somehow make the list--it's delicious. I even buy my deli turkey for home here after I'm done doing the rest of my grocery shopping at Jack's () because Max's roasts it there and IT IS INCREDIBLE. I will say that they are a little slow, but simply placing your order in advance solves that problem. Should you forget to order in advance, you will at least be entertained by friendly conversation and good music while you wait. read more

This place is great for flavorful sandwiches! I recommend the roast beef wrap with lettuce tomato, cheddar cheese, and honey mustard. Also the chicken sandwich was great on a roll with roasted red peppers, mozzarella, and balsamic glaze. These are perfect with a pickle and chips! Food is great. Service is great. The sandwich I ordered was ready in less than 4-5 minutes. The place looks. Prices are fantastic. Everything smells and tastes fresh. Great variety of drinks, soups, sandwiches. Only down-side is they only have the smaller sandwich rolls...but I'll definitely be back regardless!! read more

I always drive by on my way to work. So I figured I'd give them a shot for breakfast. I'm glad I did. Friendly staff which is always nice first thing in the morning. I decided to go with the breakfast sandwich and it was great. They had a large selection of drinks which it was nice to see the variety. I can't wait to try them for lunch. read more

Best Taylor ham and egg sandwich in town and the B52 sandwich is great. Also like the lunch specials are great.

I started working near Max's Deli a few months ago, and everyone was raving about their lunch offerings. I'm the type of person who is very true to the old fashioned NJ deli and didn't want to cheat on my favorite deli closer to home. But I was hungry for lunch the other day, gave in to the Max's kool aid, and now......I AM HOOKED! Their sandwiches are made with care, quality deli meats, and healthy portions. The prices are very reasonable and the food is always fresh. The Honey Mustard Chicken Salad was surprisingly delicious. The torpedo is an authentic NJ Italian hoagie/sub/torpedo (I even forgive the sandwich maker for asking if I wanted mayo). I can't say enough about this place. What can you say about Maxs deli. This deli I have been coming to since I was a young kid. It has not always been the same owner but with the current owner came better food. He is a chef and offers a great variety of options. He does a great catering and party menu. Prices are not bad. Cold cuts are good. No seating inside. Fresh bAgels in the am and a very small hot lunch selection up front. They do not have long rolls if your are looking for a sub, only round. Story was it has something to do with the blimpie located a few stores down. Doesn't bother me! Good selection. Call ahead service and great catering and party menu. Will continue to stop in here for a good breakfast sandwich or lunch sandwhich when in the area. If you don't see it on the menu just ask, the owner will make it for you most likely. Not a place I would try and order for again, a close friend of mine who praised their deli told me the Max's Deli did delivery. Well I called and asked them and when I asked the person on the phone he asked I'm guessing his manager and his manager was SO rude! I could hear him in the background saying, "how much is the order it has to be worthwhile". Then asked where I lived and when I told him across the highway about a couple blocks I hear the manager say, " well why can't they pick it up then they are too close it doesn't make a difference for us" and something about a car. Well sir, I don't drive 1. Don't have a license 2. I have a handicap so thank you for being so rude :) I will definitely not EVER be ordering from Max's deli in the future. read more

We are a busy office and have ordered Max's Deli prior to our experience today. We called Max's at 10:43 AM and were placing a order for delivery, the man taking our order was asking a man in the back what bagels we had, the man the said while we were on the phone that "He is not delivering that for that shit." I called back to speak to a manager and was told there is no manager and that nobody was in charge. I asked to speak the person who made the nasty comment and he was unapologetic. We will NEVER be ordering from this business again!! How someone could run a business with someone cursing in the background and telling me that the reason he said it was because he was "busy" is unacceptable.
