I never provide reviews but this time I feel it was most appropriate and have not been solicited for one. I've been coming to MaxRelax Spa for almost two years, sometimes two to three times a month! Being tall (6'5") I have almost always have suffered with back pain. Having massage treatments has been a regular part of my life. Elaine has help me tremendously focusing on the exact problems I have with back pain. The sad part is Elaine is on an extended vacation and I'm not sure when she will return (hopefully soon) in the mean I started to receive treatments from Annie which also is fantastic! The services, as well as the place is clean, bathrooms are very nice and well laid out. Next I need to try a facial. For a 1 hour deep tissue massage $65 is an excellent bargain! Been several times here,, was super impressed how clean and new it was. peter is great !! This last time it was a tooo chatty girl, I am there to relax not to chat. I had the one hour foot reflexology, which I have been having for years at other places also. About ten minutes before my hour was up, the therapist asked me if I wanted her to spend last few minutes on my back,,, since they ALWAYS do that, I said Yes. I can only give one star because there is no zero stars. For checking in I got a promotion for $40 for a one hour combo massage, when I made the reservation I told her I wanted a one hour massage and that I had a coupon And that I would please like extra attention to my sore foot. She said no problem. When I showed up they told me the $40 massage was with no oil and only a towel is used. I said what kind of massage has no oil that's not what we discussed on the phone. She showed me the regular brochure and the combo massage that they were trying to give me cost $39. So the $40 coupon for the combo massage to say thank you actually cost more than if you just walked in and booked it. Not only that it's not clear on the coupon that it's a massage with no oil, which in my book is not a massage at all. Not to mention on several occasions I've come in here and had problems but I overlooked them because of the language barrier. I had bought 3 prepaid hot oil massages which made each one cost a little less than regular. I had 3 one hour massage certificates. However I have never noticed that nowhere on the coupon did it say that it was for one hour. When I showed up for my massage they insisted it was for 30 minutes and not one hour I argued for 15 minutes threatening to leave and contact my credit card company and they finally honored a one hour massage. Okay so my best friend and I tried this spa recently as they had a grand opening special that offered 20% off their services. We had the Popular Combination which is a 60 minute hot stone massage and 30 minute reflexology. We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and tranquility. The massage therapists were very good. I had Tina (great job and asked about pressure as she went along). My friend had a man and I can't recall his name. She was happy with him also. We will definitely be going back again. Now, the reason for the 4 stars. I made an appointment for us at 2:00 p.m. but when we arrived there were no appointments on the books. Fortunately they were able to accommodate us but if the spa had been more crowded maybe not. Also, ask for a room that is as far back as you can go. Our rooms were room 3 and room 5. We could hear the muffled conversations of folks by the front desk. A minor annoyance as I prefer as much quiet as I can get. They have some of the best spa music I have experienced and that helped a good deal. Give this spa a try. It's new and there are bound to be a few kinks. Overall - really good! read more

The massage was cool but the guy I had was kinda weird. He didn't say anything to me at al he just started massaging and yawning the whole time. He didn't ask me if I wanted it soft medium or hard. It was my first time doing something like this, and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. The atmosphere is very calming and relaxing. Everything is very neat and clean. It was just pleasant to be there. My shoulder was hurting and it was hard to turn my head when I went in. When I came out, I could turn my head again without it hurting! The massage lasted an hour, and I was enjoying it so much, I wish it would have kept going. Sometimes when they are getting in there and attacking those knots in your muscles it can hurt a bit, but not too much and how good it makes you feel is well worth it! I don't really understand some of the reviews on here. I did the couples massage for my anniversary (also, my boyfriend had a really bad knot in his shoulder) and we had a really nice time. The hot stone massage was just what the doctor ordered. Also, FYI when they cover your face with a towel its most likely because they just finished massaging your head and general rule of thumb is to keep the area warm for optimal healing of the muscles. Also, unbeknownst to my boyfriend, I bought us facials and although he had to go through a bit because his skin needed some work, the difference was instantly noticable. You can't deny it if you saw it lol for my I just got a nice moisturizing treatment and a bit of extraction. Overall a really great place and we feel really good thanks you guys! read more

Normally, I do not write any review or comment on what is happening in my daily life, but, I love to read reviews from other people, I consider the review would help me to find the right services for me. Today, I read a comment from a customer regarding the TIPs, it gave me some thoughts about our TIPs system. For me, I always give a minimum of $15.00 to $20.00 for any massage session. I strongly believe, to hand over a TIPS to the person who has worked hard for 60 to 90 minutes massage treatment on me should deserve my gratuity. the masseur deserves a good TIPS. It is my wat to say thank you to the masseur. The TIP system is a very interesting subject, I do not know, is it a good system or a bad one. I know some countries have a better wage system for the labor workers than us and the workers do not accept TIPs at all. What do you think, how much for TIP is reasonable for any services? By the way, since I am writing a review, I have to say something about the place. I have come here for massage treatment regularly. I could not find another place that could match up with this place in Lake Forest, the store has a beautiful design with excellent services. I like the price, the service performs in a private room, the store is super clean, and offers sauna and showers if you want to pay a little bit more. When the body tells you it is tired or stress, you should come here, the store manager will explain to you what type of massage will be good for you. read more
