The doctor put a bandaid on it and said there was blood bc of a sweat gland. I was in a bit of pain still after leaving, but thought nothing of it bc of the cut. The next day I still had pain which led me to believe the callus had not been fully removed. After contacting the office, I was told to wait until the bleeding healed to verify where the pain was coming from. I patiently waited and then scheduled a follow-up appointment to address the continued pain, after three days. The earliest appointment that worked for me that they had available was approximately 7 days later (there was a weekend in those days). When I arrived, however, I was told I would have to pay either my copay or another $50 callus removal fee before the doctor would even look at me to correct the issue. This is when I learned that corns apparently can't be removed, only calluses can be shaved off (apparently I needed to read the fine print before signing and would have known that). This was incredibly frustrating as the first time I had a callus/corn taken care of (from a foot doctor in Florida) I had no issue, no pain and confidence that I wouldnt have to worry about the problem for another good longtime (5 years to be exact). Again I am flabbergasted by the staffs dismissive behavior and the nurses down right rude and disgruntled attitude. They made it clear that I would not be seen unless I paid the additional fees, along with an overdue fee that until that day I had never seen or been aware of. An overdue fee that was 3 years old! A overdue fee that had never been communicated to me before that day (not even at my appointment 7 days earlier)--no overdue notices, no phone calls, nothing! This lack of transparency and poor communication is unacceptable. Clearly I am not a subject matter expert on feet, and am an average joe when it comes to "reading the fine print," but I truly do not believe I deserved to be treated the way I was! I would not recommend this office to anyone.

Charge far too much and do nothing. Crap service won't answer phones for questions. Billing is…read moreridiculous and they offer no way to pay on line.

Finding a great surgeon makes a difference when having a total knee replacement. However, that is…read more only half of the equation. While a surgeon might work on you for two hours, the follow-up by your physical therapist will last weeks, even months. The quality of that P.T. matters equally, if not more. I chose Appalachian Physical Therapy after a recommendation from another patient. Good fortune paired me with Dr. Jonathan Cole. He understands how recovering from a total knee replacement is an ordeal, especially during the first two weeks. Dr. Cole got me though them. He listened, sympathized, explained, coached, and reassured me. Dr. Cole never pushed too hard, helping to ease my pain rather than causing more. Jonathan Cole provided more than physical therapy. It was mental therapy, as well. At Appalachian, you see the same physical therapist for every visit and receive his or her undivided attention. From what I hear, that is uncommon in other places. Such consistency does make a difference. After my total knee replacement, I pedaled a bicycle in 12 days, mowed a lawn and walked more than a mile without a cane in four weeks, chipped and putted in five weeks, and returned to playing on the golf course by week six. That's half the time my surgeon had predicted. And, I am a 69 year-old man. It has been and continues to be a remarkable return to my regular lifestyle. Appalachian Physical Therapy is a positive, pleasant, supportive place. With time, you get to know the staff, and they you. Now that my therapy is completed, I will miss seeing the people there. Not enough to have another knee replaced, certainly, but if I ever need physical therapy again, Appalachian is the place to go. Trust this unsolicited review. You will be in the best of hands.
